Our Chair On behalf of the Board of Directors of IAAE Canada, I am pleased to present the 2012 Annual Report. While IAAE Canada regularly communicates with our members about news, events and training, the annual report is our official report to the members of what we are doing as an association and how we are managing the business of the association. I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Bill Newman A.A.E. for his dedication and hard work in guiding IAAE Canada as Chair over the last three years. It is my privilege to now be able to serve as chair of IAAE Canada and I will strive to build upon the successes that Bill and all the previous Chairs have made. I would like to welcome our three new board members Wilma Clarke A.A.E., Shelia McGuigan A.A.E and Mike Karsseboom A.A.E. and to thank our two board members who retired from the board in 2012, Ed Schmidtke A.A.E. and Wil MacMillan A.A.E. for their service to IAAE Canada. IAAE Canada is the world’s 2nd largest association after the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) that serves the individual needs of airport professional members. There are many associations throughout the world that serve the goals of airports; however the concept that the people who manage airports as a profession should have a collective voice appears to have only taken root in North America. IAAE Canada is very proud to have again increased our total membership over 2011 to a new high of 325 and to have 40% of our members who are actively employed at airports as Accredited Airport Executives (A.A.E.) 2012 saw the award of the ‘Mark of the Airport Professional, the Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) designation to four members; Neil Drachenburg, A.A.E. of Kelowna, Delia Chesworth, A.A.E. of Yellowknife, Phillip Elchitz, A.A.E. of Kelowna and RJ Steenstra, A.A.E. of Red Deer. Please join the Board in extending congratulations to them. 2012 saw the second presentation of the highly regarded Airport Systems Planning, Design & Management course in Montreal by M.I.T. professors, the introduction of the Air Service Development course in Calgary and several webinars that delivered timely information to any member with an hour to spare and an internet connection. Overall almost 400 people participated in IAAE Canada sponsored training programs in 2012. In August, the 1st IAAE Canada/IAAE/AAAE – International Conference was held in Montreal. The conference dealt with issues that affect all airports and their air carrier customers and was well attended by U.S. and Canadian executives as well as senior officials from Transport Canada, the FAA and ICAO. The conference was so well received that the executive committees of IAAE Canada, IAAE and AAAE decided to hold the conference on a bi-annual basis before the 2012 conference had wrapped up. The 2 nd bi-annual IAAE Canada/IAAE/AAAE – International Conference will be held on March 24-26,2014 in Tucson, Arizona. The successful Facilities, Operations & Airport Managers (FOAM) conference will continue with the 7 th annual conference in Saskatoon, SK in 2013 and planning is already underway for our 8 th annual conference in Halifax, NS in 2014.

Our Chair

IAAE Canada continues to work with other aviation and airport organizations to provide value to our members and to promote our products and services. IAAE Canada has student chapters at Georgian College and the University of Western Ontario and works closely with the Canadian Airports Council, AAAE, British Columbia Institute of Technology, SWIFT, the Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace and provincial aviation councils. The current and future success of IAAE Canada is directly attributed to those who serve on our committees and Board of Directors. Those who volunteer their time, skills and expertise to administer the affairs of the association, to develop and produce training products and who coordinate and organize our conferences. What is the benefit of getting involved? You have the opportunity to work closely with likeminded professionals from across Canada, who work at every level of an airport, be directly involved in the advancement of the profession of airport management and be a part of the leading source of airport training and professional development in Canada. In 2014 we at IAAE Canada will celebrate our 20th anniversary of being the leading organization for the provision of airport training and professional development in Canada. The next 20 years will bring new challenges and new ways of meeting them and IAAE Canada is committed to being a leader in delivering the answers to those challenges to our members.

Cuyler J. Green, A.A.E. Chair, IAAE Canada

Executive Coordinator

2012 is now in the history books and we are of course busy with 2013, but for now, let us reflect. We have a few things to brag about, firstly our membership has continued on its upward path, as did FOAM, our conference for Facility, Operations & Airport Managers. Held in Victoria, it once again broke records for attendance in all categories. Each year we plan for our conference to be as good as the previous year, and then we are pleasantly surprised when it is even better. At our AGM, held in Victoria, we saw three new board members elected, Wilma Clarke A.A.E., Mike Karsseboom A.A.E. & Sheila McGuigan A.A.E. while Wil MacMillan A.A.E. & Ed Schmidtke A.A.E. completed their respective terms and Bryan Gordon A.A.E. now retired, assumed the position of Secretary/Treasurer. Most notable was the changing of the guard, when Bill Newman A.A.E. passed the gavel to Cuyler Green A.A.E. to chair the Board for the next three years. Between the two of them, they told the audience good stories about 2011 and even their vision for the Association for 2012, it certainly set the stage for a good conference.

We continued in 2012 to provide exceptional training opportunities with 20 classroom courses which included for the second time, the Airport Systems Planning course aptly presided over by the professors from MIT. They traveled to Montreal for this course, which was put on in conjunction with the AAAE/IAAE/IAAE Canada combined international conference. This conference, the first in Canada, was declared a success for the content it delivered from both sides of the border. Attendees from the USA enjoyed their time venturing north for this inaugural conference. It is our intention to repeat this conference on a bi-annual basis alternating between the two countries while still inviting our European cousins to join in. Speaking of inaugural, in 2012 we started two new training courses, Air Navigation Systems and Air Services Development, both were well received and it is expected will be repeated in 2013. We expanded our online training to 11 and are still adding more, so check back to our website often.

IAAE Canada Chapters

IAAE Canada encourages the formation of local chapters in those locations where there is a critical mass of members to support one. Local chapters serve to strengthen the relationships amongst members, promote networking and information sharing and provide an avenue for professional development and mentoring. To date, IAAE Canada chapters have been established at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario and at the University of Western Ontario located in London, Ontario.

Toronto Pearson The members of the Toronto Pearson chapter meet on a bimonthly basis. Typically, the meetings consist of a discussion of the latest Association news from across the country followed by a review of trends and occurrences affecting the aviation industry as a whole. Members are brought up to date on air carrier activities and strategies, airport developments and trends in the larger business environment. Each meeting members are also treated to a feature presentation or a site visit delivered by a fellow member or an invited guest. Presentation topics have ranged from leadership, energy management, and stormwater management to air cargo and eco-business parks, all with the purpose of expanding members knowledge and range of thinking about the industry in an atmosphere of collegial discussion and knowledge sharing.

11

IAAE Canada Chapters

The Georgian College Chapter, which came into existence in early 2008, is comprised of students enrolled in the Aviation Management program and is an extension of the Canadian Aviation Students Organization (CASO). The chapter held meetings throughout the year that included presentations by industry speakers, providing the student membership with insights into the industry and its many potential employment streams and more importantly, the opportunity to network with airport professionals. Student members also attended some of the Toronto Pearson Chapter meetings thus broadening their opportunities to learn and develop industry contacts. As well, an airside tour of Toronto Pearson International Airport was organized for the students. Professor Philip Van Manen, C.M. continues to ably serve as the Faculty Advisor for the Student Chapter and to promote student membership in the Georgian College IAAE Canada Chapter. IAAE Canada extends its appreciation to Professor Van Manen for his voluntary and enthusiastic support.

The University of Western Ontario The student chapter at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) was again well supported by its chapter members in 2011. The Commercial Aviation Management (CAM) Council continues to develop, support and promote the benefits of the IAAE Canada Student Chapter to its membership which has resulted in overall growth of student members at UWO. Led by Council Presidents Grant Thorner at the beginning of the year and Robin Jacuzzi in the fall, IAAE Canada would like to thank the CAM Council for its ongoing efforts to grow the Student Chapter in London. IAAE Canada would also like to recognize CAM Council Representative Maciej Habrych for his support and dedication to growing the Student Chapter.

Membership & Communications Committee The Membership & Communications Committee meets bi-monthly to discuss new initiatives focused not only on increasing IAAE Canada membership but also to enhance the value of membership to current members. This Committee’s efforts were directed to achieving a net year-over-year increase in membership by adding a minimum of 25 new members and limiting member attrition to 5% of 2011 membership. We are happy to report that we exceeded our goal, increasing our membership by 69 new members. The results of our 2012 Membership Satisfaction survey indicated that professional development training was the number one reason for joining the Association and that networking was rated number one among our Membership Benefits. We have endeavoured to provide more opportunities for both of these through webinars, conferences, and our magazine. 2012 saw our inaugural IAAE Canada Members Webinar. To be presented on a quarterly basis these webinars address the results of our survey by creating more professional development training and networking opportunities to our members at no cost. Topics have and will include; Ground Deicing, SnowWiz, Environmental Management, Strategic Management and Airport Planning. The IAAE Canada Airport Magazine released its 6th Edition in Winter 2012. A free publication containing feature articles on a wide range of aviation-related topics, it is intended to complement the weekly e-Report and the web site and provide members with an added source of current industry information. The magazine features articles by our members, a biopic on one of our Corporate Members and an Emerging Technologies article from a second Corporate Member. As well, new ideas and member suggestions to improve the editorial content of the weekly e-Report were pursued by the Committee over the course of the year. Tom Coupland personally promoted IAAE Canada membership through his participation in the annual conferences of several provincial aviation associations. Maxx Kochar, C.M. and Jeff Barrow, A.A.E. continued to work with student representatives at Georgian College and the University of Western Ontario, respectively, to build student membership and solidify the IAAE Canada student chapters at each school. The achievements of the past year would not have been possible without the efforts of the Committee members listed below. I want to thank them all for generously volunteering their time and expertise to the work of the Membership & Communications Committee. Respectfully submitted, Bill Newman, A.A.E. Chair, Membership & Communications Committee. Committee Members: Jeff Barrow A.A.E Wil MacMillan A.A.E. Iouri Moutine A.A.E.

Corporate Committee IAAE Canada continues to be an important link between with Airport Community and the Corporate members. Through its regular forums such as the e-report, the IAAE Canada Magazine and conferences, the corporate members are able to develop relationships and get their messages out to a very specialized audience. In 2012, IAAE Canada hosted two conferences that provided excellent forums for the corporate members to mingle with airport operators. The FOAM Conference was held in Victoria in June and the Joint IAAE Canada/AAAE sponsored International Conference was held in Montreal in August. This year was the biggest ever FOAM Conference. Congratulations should be extended to the team, led by Sam Sammadar AAE, that organized the event. It was the largest event yet and had an excellent agenda. The Trade Show provided many Corporate Members the opportunity to exchange information and contact details with a wide variety of airport operators. The Montreal Conference brought a large number of professionals from American Airports and gave a new audience for the Corporate members to introduce themselves and their products. Paul Ritchi AAE displayed stellar leadership in “herding all the cats” and pulling everything together to put on an outstanding conference. The agenda and presenters were top calibre. Sponsorship opportunities at both of these events proved to be a great way to gain recognition with the audience. It was at the Annual General Meeting at the FOAM Conference that Paul Cudmore stepped down after two years as the Corporate Representative to the Board of Directors and one year as the inaugural Chair of the Corporate Committee. Kelvin Williamson (LNT Solutions), Greg Richardson (Commissionaires) and Elvio Pecchia (SNC Lavalin) continue to serve on the committee. Edna Barnum (Team Eagle) replaced Paul when he stepped down. I had the honour of being asked to Chair the Committee for the next two years. Kelvin Williamson has agreed to succeed me as Chair at the end of my term. The Committee continues to focus on the following initiatives: • Creation and Delivery of industry focused webinars • Continued support and input of material for the IAAE Canada Magazine • Support for the FOAM Conference in Victoria in June 2012 and planning for the Saskatoon Conference in May 2013 • Support for the IAAE Canada / AAAE International Conference in Montreal in August 2012 • Support for the ongoing development of training for both classroom and on-line courses • Support for the development of the Accredited Airport Professional program for members of the corporate community • Increased visibility for Corporate Members through free advertising on the IAAE Canada website, in the weekly e-Reports and in this publication, the 2012 Annual Report. It has been my distinct pleasure to work with my fellow members of the Corporate Committee and with the Board of Directors to help further the goals of the organization. Respectfully, Eric Tolton AAE

Training Committee IAAE Canada trained almost 400 people in 2012 with about two thirds taking classroom courses and the remainder taking online courses. I was happy to count myself as one of those students when I took the Airport Systems Planning course in Montreal in August of 2012. During this course, I was impressed by the value and quality it delivered, as is the standard with all of IAAE Canada’s courses. The Airport Systems Planning course opened my eyes to how airports are going to have to adapt to new technologies, changing airlines alliances and passenger experience. Time passes quickly; this past year was a milestone for many of the largest Canadian airports who celebrated 20 years as independent Airport Authorities. Training airport staff is the most effective solution to adapting to an airport industry without direct Transport Canada management, increasing senior staff retirements, the new tech-savvy generation, and an increasingly unpredictable aviation industry. In 2012, IAAE Canada offered nine airport specific online courses. This Airport 101 line of courses was joined by the first more advanced Airport 201 online course. The first Airport 201 course, called Land Use-Zoning, explores challenges with protecting airspace above the airport including Obstacle Limitation Zoning and Electronic zoning. Future Airport 201 series will also offer course material with greater depth. We also introduced an Air Services Development classroom course in 2012. This course focused on developing a business plan to attract the right airlines to serve the needs of an airport and its community. This course is valuable to smaller airports that hope to attract WestJet Encore, or large airports that hope to attract an international carrier. Once again our most popular course was the Winter Aircraft Movement Surface Condition Reporting (WAMSCR) course with venues across the country from Sydney, NS to Prince George, BC. This classroom course offers tremendous value because it both educates airport staff and helps them to develop their professional network. IAAE Canada will continue to provide our course schedule to you in the weekly e-Report and build on our online training library. If you would like to host a course, please contact Tom Coupland, our Executive Coordinator. If you cannot host a course, consider the added value of networking by sending your staff away to take a course with other airport professionals. If you cannot find the training your airport needs, contact us with your airport training requirements and we will work with you to find solutions. I look forward to another year of working with the dedicated members of the Training Committee. This team works very hard to bring quality airport training to the Canadian Airport Community. We look forward to continuing to offer industry favourites like WAMSCR, TP312 and Airport Wildlife Control plus adding new initiatives like an airport marketing course which we hope to develop in 2013. Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee reinvented itself in 2012 with new members being appointed to the Committee and innovative ideas being considered to help position IAAE Canada for the future. Two primary objectives were established for the Committee that will focus the efforts through 2013: 1. Increase Membership Value Awareness 2. Increase Training Product Awareness IAAE Canada has a lot to offer prospective members. Our strength lies in our membership as we are made up of more than 300 airport professionals from across the country. From large international airports to small municipal airports, our members come from all disciplines that include operations, finance, human resources and business development. We are Canadians dealing with Canadian issues and challenges. The number of Airports that have members in our Association is growing every year and this is a reflection of the strengths of our organization. From training to management development, conferences and networking, accreditation programs and employment opportunities, IAAE Canada should be on the “to-do list of all airports and airport employees from coast to coast. The Marketing Committee is focused on increasing awareness of our value to individuals in the Canadian aviation industry.

Accreditation Committee The Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) designation is recognized worldwide as the 'Mark of the Airport Professional'. Becoming an A.A.E. requires knowledge, skill and determination. For 18 years, IAAE Canada has provided the training and mentoring for Canadian Airport Professionals to achieve the A.A.E. The year 2012 saw four members achieve the A.A.E. Please join me in congratulating Delia Chesworth A.A.E., Director, Airport Facilities, Government of the Northwest Territories, Neil Drachenberg A.A.E., Manager - Airport Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness, Kelowna International Airport, Phillip Elchitz A.A.E., Duty Manager, Kelowna International Airport, RJ Steenstra A.A.E., Chief Executive Officer, Red Deer Airport Authority. Our Certified Members (C.M.) strive to join the elite and obtain the use of A.A.E. after their name. In 2012, 12 members took the first step in realizing accreditation by achieving their Certified Member status (CM). Their names can be found in the New C.M.’s section of this report. The Accreditation Committee’s ongoing responsibility is to ensure that the IAAE Canada Accreditation Program maintains the high professional standards that have been developed to date. Of equal importance the committee is mandated to continuously seek enhancements to the program in the ever evolving world of aviation. The airport industry has high expectations and requires knowledgeable professionals to manage airports. The Accreditation Committee will ensure that newly accredited members have the required knowledge to meet these high expectations. The Accreditation Committee provides a mentorship program to guide all CM candidates giving ongoing guidance to each candidate throughout the three year accreditation process. The Board of Examiners, which includes a majority of the Mentors, helps to maintain the high standards by approving management paper topics and outlines, the final review of management papers and conducting oral exam interviews. The Accreditation Committee understands the difficulty in meeting demanding workloads while also striving to achieve your accreditation; however, the Committee & Mentors will do their best to ensure each member is set up for success to achieve this valuable milestone within the time frame of the program. If I can be of any assistance to anyone thinking about beginning the journey to become an accredited member, please do not hesitate to contact me through the IAAE Canada website. 6th Annual Facility, Operations & Airport Managers Conference From east to west, in 2012 our conference caravan rolled into beautiful downtown Victoria. This year we held the trade show and day one talks at the Victoria Conference Centre, then moved the delegates back to our hotel of choice, the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour, where we stayed for the next day and a half. We were pleasantly surprised that in every category, the numbers exceeded all the preceding conferences. At time of writing this we are busy arranging the 7th FOAM conference in Saskatoon and already looking ahead to 2014. We covered topics on the future of aviation security systems, Data tracking, CRFI changes, How to reduce your energy usage, Airfield Electrical Safety, Runway excursions, improving leadership skills for change management and even understanding your customers needs. Such a broad range of topics brought rave reviews from attendees. All of our surveys gave us a thumbs up and some even some good ideas how we can make it better. All work and no play ‌ well that's not us; we all went to the Sticky Wicket pub with its old English flavor which gave everyone good food, a drink or two and plenty of opportunity to talk about our airports - the very thing we have in common. The Victoria Convention Center was quite luxurious and the trade show was a little dwarfed in their great hall, never the less the delegates enjoyed the room, and we were even able to accommodate some late exhibitors because we had the extra room. We owe a big thank you to our sponsors, especially those who have been with us year after year. Hopefully you include all our sponsors on your list of vendors to talk to when you are in a buying mood. We were very happy that Vanderlande Industries Ltd., were once again our Gold Sponsor. Silver Sponsors, EBA A Tetra Company, Tradewind Scientific Ltd. & ADB Airfield Solutions all of whom have sponsored all or most of our FOAM conferences. Bronze Sponsors were, Team Eagle, Gibbings Consulting Ltd, Dan-Mark Runway Grooving, Hatch Mott MacDonald, Amika Mobile & LNT Solutions. Former Gold Sponsor Black & McDonald helped us out with a new category Platinum, and along with SNC-Lavalin, Fort McMurray Airport & Genivar provided the sponsorship for the evening at Sticky Wickets . We also wish to thank our other sponsors, MMM Group, Transafe Technology, Commissionaires, the Regina Airport Authority, and of course SMP for sponsoring the golf, while also trying to win the day. Some of these sponsors have been IAAE Canada members for many years and without such sponsors we could not put on conferences such as these. Join us in Saskatoon this coming May 12-15, 2013 and maybe next year, we’ll be writing about you, in Halifax, Spring 2014. Tom Coupland Executive Coordinator

The 1st bi-Annual IAAE Canada/AAAE/IAAE International Conference - The Evolution of the Airport & Air Carrier Industry Conferences come and conferences go. Some are memorable for all of the wrong reasons and others leave a positive impression as useful, enlightening and informative. This unique pioneering conference in Montreal in August of 2012 not only exceeded conference participant’s expectations but it also held set a very high baseline for IAAE Canada and its partners to reach in 2014. This unique conference conveyed a shared message whereas to truly grow and succeed in this evermore complex and evolving industry we need to work together and understand each other better in a consistent and proactive manner. To not do so will not only add costs but may also be seen as a disservice to the customer that we collectively interact with – the flying public. Senior leaders from Airports, Aviation world leading consulting companies, Government agencies such as Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Association, National Transportation Safety Board, Educational Institutions with subject matter experts such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Industry Trade representatives such as International Air Transport Association , International Civil Aviation Organization, Airlines for America, National Airlines Council of Canada, Cargo Airline Association, and Air Carriers contributed to this industry leading discussion. .

We will maintain attention to the Air Service Development aspect from an airport operator perspective as carrier alliances and economic conditions drive carriers to become ever increasingly focused as to where they fly, how often and what the net margin is on flights to and from airport ABC must be before new services commence or current services can be maintained. We will continue to better understand and look for ways to work with Government agencies such as the Federal Aviation Association and Transport Canada for a wide range of factors such as the development Canadian Aviation Regulations or other regulations (e.g. Environmental) aligned with industry needs and experiences all within a consultative manner Lastly, we anticipate working on better understanding the value of our airports to their respective communities = direct jobs PLUS building global connectivity PLUS Customer Satisfaction PLUS Financial Sustainability. Our 2nd annual conference will be held in Tucson, Arizona March 24-26 2014… please join us as together we look for ways to improve our airports in partnership with air carriers and government agencies in a cost effective and sustainable manner. September 15th, 2010 marked a new era for a group of leading Canadian design firms as they adopted the name DIALOG for their recent merger. DIALOG has a track record of award-winning collaborative design excellence. Founded by the merged firms of Cohos Evamy + Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden + Mole White Associates + Office for Urbanism, DIALOG is committed to the practice of sustainable design with a focus on the success of clients and communities. Working from studios in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver, DIALOG credits its strength to its outstanding multidisciplinary team who deliver excellence and a collaborative approach to the provision of architectural, engineering, interior design, planning and urban design services. Building connections Design in transportation is about connections - between neighbourhoods, communities, cities, municipalities, countries. The experience is as important as the function. Airports are more than just a clearinghouse for airplanes, people and cargo - they are the gateway to a region. An airport should be a welcoming and worry-free experience for passengers, and a reflection of the culture of the community. Since the early 1990s, airports have also been businesses that must generate revenue, so layouts have to be strategic, reflecting the buying patterns of passengers and airport personnel. In addition, as airports expand and technology changes, airport design must accommodate the rapidly changing fleets of many different carriers. We handle this through modularity, which makes airports, control towers and other transportation buildings effective today, and flexible enough to meet future needs. Our Areas of Practice DIALOG is a fully integrated multidisciplinary practice which includes architecture, programming, urban planning and design, interior design, graphic design and 3D modeling, and structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. We provide our services in many sectors including airports and transportation, retail, commercial, public markets, arts and culture, education, health care, science and technology, government, and energy related work. We have been successful in winning outstanding, ambitious commissions and developing long-lasting collaborative relationships with our clients.

Size of the Firm DIALOG credits its strength to its outstanding multidisciplinary team of over 500 talented individuals, located in studios in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Vancouver. Our team is supported by state-of-the-art IT resources which allow seamless communication and flow of information across our studio network. Safegate Airport Systems, Inc. - Summary Safegate Airport Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of the Safegate Group. Founded in 1973 in Malmö, Sweden, the Safegate Group has 16 offices around the globe and is in operation at more than 1000 airports worldwide offering complete apron management, airfield lighting and A-SMGCS solutions for the most efficient and safe guidance of aircraft from touchdown to gate. Docking Guidance Systems Safegate’s apron management solutions are built around the Safedock™ Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System (A-VDGS) and SafeControl – Apron Management System (SAM) that links the gates and integrates with airport and airline information systems. The resulting real-time gate intelligence and shared data helps create a safer, more efficient and environmentally-friendly ramp operation that is predictable, repeatable and scalable for the future. Safegate is the leading provider of fully-automated, laser-based A-VDGS that can accurately guide pilots to the correct stop position in all weather conditions. Aircraft can dock even when the ramp is closed and ramp personnel cannot be present. Safedock provides guidance to pilots in both seats and can accommodate multiple centerlines with one system. More than 5,000 Safedock A-VDGS systems are operational at airports around the world, including Toronto Pearson International Airport, Calgary International Airport and Vancouver International Airport.

Safegate’s SafeControl – Apron Management System links all gates via a local or wide area network and integrates with airport and airline information systems, providing centralized control of all gates and real-time gate intelligence to maximize turns. The SAM provides accurate in and out times, allows the A-VDGS to double as a ramp information display system (RIDS) and can interface with ground support equipment and other existing airport systems such as BMS/FIDS/AFLCS/SMR. Airfield Lighting ASP-SafeControl is an addressable airfield lighting system that provides individual light control, system monitoring capabilities and real-time information to the tower. ASP-SafeControl reduces the time and cost associated with light installation and maintenance, is compatible with other airfield lighting systems, works with existing infrastructure and does not require additional control cable for installation. Safegate airfield lighting solutions are in use today at airports in: Halifax NS, St John’s NFL, Trenton ON, Victoria BC, Waterloo-Kitchener ON and Winnipeg MB. Safegate’s SafeLED airfield lighting fixtures are the only LED airfield lights that offer an integrated fail-open signal, similar to halogen fixtures, for monitoring lamp failure. The SafeLED IQ intelligent lamp fitting provides significant power savings and cost efficiencies by allowing monitoring and control of the LED lighting system. Controlling light intensity at the light rather than the CCR can save up to 85% in cabling costs and power consumption. For more information, please contact: Taha S.
