Imagine you arrive at school wearing your pyjamas. Instead of being dressed in your uniform of dark blue pants and a white shirt, you are in your comfortable pyjamas. This happened on Monday, February 28, the first day of Carnival Week! ISA Primary School celebrated ‘Apokries,’ the Greek carnival season, over the week of February 28 to March 4. The Student Council decided on the theme for each day. Students and teachers participated and it was a fun week. On Monday, February 28, children came to school in their pyjamas. Mostly 1st to 4th Grade students participated, although some of the 5th and 6th grade students did too. Pyjama Day was a good start to the week. Tuesday, March 1, was Opposite Day. Students wore their clothes inside out or girls dressed like boys and boys like girls. Some younger students

took it very seriously and it was funny to see a little girl with a mustache or a boy wearing pink! The next day, March 2, was Crazy Hair or Hat Day. There was more participation on this day since many students had funny hairstyles or really wigs. If you walked in the halls, you would crazy see crazy wigs or hats floating in the air. On Thursday March 3, students dressed just like one of their friends because it was Twin Day. Some students even wore costumes that were the same as their friend’s. Twin Day went well. Finally, Friday March 4 was Full Costume Day and it was the most successful day. Students dressed up in their lovely carnival costumes. As you walked around the school, you could pass by Spiderman, fairies, princesses, clowns, emos and a lot more. Students and teachers were in fabulous costumes for the final day of Carnival Week 2011!
