Chapter 5
On the other side of the door, Tara saw a sunny garden full of her bookworm friends.

‘Where are we?‛ asked the bookworms, looking around at the pretty garden and the pink house nearby. Meg and Nick came out and ran over to the bookworms.
‘You‛re in our garden in Hong Kong!‛ the children said. They were carrying towels, and they helped the bookworms get warm and dry.
‘Meg and Nick are our friends,‛ said Tara. ‘They live here, through the door in the tree.‛
‘Coming through the door was a great idea,‛ said Twist. ‘How did you think of it?‛
‘The idea was from my favourite book,‛ said Tara.
Treasure Island?‛ asked Bugbug. He looked at Meg and Nick‛s garden. It wasn‛t an island, and there wasn‛t any treasure in it.
‘No,‛ said Tara. ‘My real favourite book! It‛s The Secret Garden. If the weather in Bookworm Forest weren‛t so bad, I would get the book now.‛
‘You like The Secret Garden,‛ said Bitbit. ‘Why didn‛t you tell us?‛
‘I thought it was a silly book to share,‛ Tara said quietly. ‘It‛s not as exciting as your books.‛
‘So do we,‛ said Meg and Nick.
‘On Book Day, we bring our favourite books to life,‛ said Twist. She looked around at Meg and Nick‛s garden. ‘You‛ve really done that today. The Secret Garden seems very exciting, and I can‛t wait to read it!‛
