Project Title: Urban Design Dissertation Course: MA Urban Design and Planning Year: 2023 | University of Sheffield

Under the threat from flooding, the project aims to enhance the connection between the community and natural characteristics.

FLOODING ISSUES Through GIS mapping, it is clear that Rowntree Park has suffered water issues, and facing high risk in the future while the poor drainage system cannot solve the flooding issues well.

BOUNDARY TYPES To improve the visual permeability and accessibility for users, physical boundaries in Rowntree park should reduce the effect on the natural environment by eight different greenery infrastructure.

Conserving natural resources and wildlife offer communities an aboundant and different habitats.

The infrastructure design maintains the functions of leisurement of the park during heavy rainfalls.

A diverse and friendly space allows people from different backgrounds and ages to stay in comfortably.

The physical design reflects the beauty of water patterns, ripples , and waves. Those fabrics represent the influence of each member in the neighbourhood.
