Based in Folkestone, Misused Cocktails offers free bar hire, ready-to-drink bottled cocktails, cocktail tuition, bar staff training, barware for sale and even hot tub hire! We’re excited to demonstrate our cocktailmaking skills with you at Hythe Life Festival. If you like what you see, why not book us for a cocktail tuition or take advantage of our free mobile bar hire? Come and check out our new surf and turf restaurant Oakleys in Dover, there’ll be plenty of cocktails too. www.misusedcocktails.net

Vince was always interested in bees and I bought him a bee keeping course about 10 years ago. It was a six week course, a couple of hours, once a week. We soon got a couple of hives to keep in our garden and once the honey started coming in we were giving it to friends and family. I came home from work one day and Vince told me he’d booked us in to sell our honey at our local farmers market. So we had to rapidly buy a gazebo and tables and get some “proper” labels! That’s when Bray’s Bees was born.

Allister began at the acclaimed Wheelers Oyster Bar in Whitstable where Head Chef Mark Stubbs inspired him to begin his career. Later he worked with Michelin starred chefs across the country including Read’s Restaurant in Faversham under Chef David Pitchford, the legendary Michael Caines at Gidleigh Park Hotel, Devon and as senior sous chef at The Bath Priory supporting Sam Moody in achieving a Michelin star.

At the Brewery of Angels and Demons we handcraft beers under the close personal attention of Ross and head brewer Tyler. The latest brewing equipment and technologies are seamlessly combined with traditional brewing methods to ensure consistently excellent taste, whether packaged in bottles, cans, casks or draft kegs. Our beers are the highest quality and include only the finest natural ingredients. Carefully selected for their distinctive flavour profile, the beers are classically fermented for a smooth, bold taste and dry hopped for that modern twist giving heavy aroma and punchy finish. We use hops and malts from the UK and from across the world to give our ales their distinctive taste. We produce beer and lager that is distributed within the country. Our main product lines are American Pale Ale, IPA, Stouts and Session Ales.

Alice hails from Liguria, Italy and attended the renowned Stresa Hotel School on Lake Maggiore for five years. She later worked at the five star Gallia Palace in Tuscany, before her career took her to properties in St Moritz, Switzerland, and Acchen, Germany.

Here Come the Girls

Terrylee (vocals) Roger (acoustic bass/ vocals) and Tony (acoustic guitar/vocals) formed the Ashborys to play music inspired by songs that came out of Laurel Canyon in the 60s and 70s. Terrylee is a genuine California Gal, who spent her teenage years listening to the likes of James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and Carol King. Roger and Tony are experienced musicians and accompany Terrylee in delivering a repertoire that includes such classics as California Girls, Take It Easy and Woodstock. Songs by Kasey Musgraves, The Jayhawks, Police, Stealers Wheel, Fleetwood Mac and Alison Krauss add a contemporary and international edge to their Kent East Coast take on the classic American West Coast sound.

Devils Domain was born out of a love of high energy, driving music. Inspired by the feeling and music created by Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Metallica, Black Sabbath and Accept to name a few. The band definitely has two feet planted on the gas pedal that delivers full throttle hard rock metal. For more information check out our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ thedevilsdomain

Hythe-based vocal duo Here Come the Girls (aka Donna and Jo) have been filling party dancefloors since 2013 with their extensive repertoire of feel-good pop, rock, disco, funk, rock & roll, and soul classics. The girls bring a wealth of experience and talent to their live performances, and it’s obvious from the fun they have on stage that they thoroughly love what they do. Expect high-energy entertainment featuring some of the biggest songs from the past seven decades performed with incredible vocals and some very questionable dance moves.

“A very original, great singer/songwriter!” - Kent Folk on BBC Radio Kent. “Folkestone-based singer/songwriter Nick Lawrence has been performing throughout Kent and beyond for over 15 years. With self-penned fan favourites such as The Beard Song, Come Drink With Me My Friends and Song to Dylan, he entertains crowds with his own take on country, and traditional folk songs.”

The Beer Lizards are three men who are old enough to know better – but don’t! We play good time vintage rock with a little Americana and soul added to the mix. We have been together for a couple of decades playing lots of pub and festival gigs. The Beer Lizards are all about good times and good music. Come on down and see us, grab a few beers with friends while this down home band is rockin

The Rhythm Shack are a five-piece Blues/ Rock and Soul band. We have been performing since 2019 with periodic breaks due to Pandemic restrictions on live music. We love to play Outdoor festivals, pubs and private parties. The line-up consists of: Perry White on Keys; Chris Warner on Bass Guitar; Colin Deblin on Lead/Rhythm Guitar; Andy Burring on Drums and Sasha on Vocals. We are very proud to be performing the Hythe Life Food Festival this year. If you are interested in booking the band please email or telephone the following contact: andyburring@msn.com or Mob: 07810 502108.

My name is Martin Matcham. I’m a singer songwriter and I’ve been singing and playing guitar since I was 9 years old. Pubs, clubs, holiday parks. Then in 2009 I went on Britain’s Got Talent and made it through to the semi finals. I make my own guitars some may remember the union jack flashing guitar I used in BGT or the American stars and stripes one. I also play in a band called M3, we’re a cover band, covering all types of music from party tunes, rock, etc. My solo career has a wider range of music from Elton John, Queen, Kaiser Chiefs to The Fray and Status Quo and lots more. I hope you enjoy my performance. I featured in last years Hythe Food Festival what a great place to perform. The atmosphere was fantastic, the crowd were great. Enjoyed every minute. PennySpent

FHODS Choir was started in September 2021 and is run by Steve Hawkins & Richard Baulch. There are no auditions and it’s open to all members of FHODS, just come along and join us for some fun singing every Tuesday @ 7.30-9pm at The Tower Theatre Folkestone. Contact Steve if you would like to know more at stephenhawkins913@gmail.com

Dynamite Joe are a classic rock and blues rock cover band who are passionate about playing music and come with a huge background of experience. They play hits by the Who, Thin Lizzy, the Eagles, Bryan Adams, Free, Foo Fighters to name a few. Including musicians with a wealth of gigging expertise under their belts, they have a large and fairly diverse repertoire of songs at their disposal that always leave the crowd wanting more. For info or bookings please contact Will: 07759 312105 or fb.com/DynamiteJoes

After 20 years, PennySpent returned in 2018 – older, but no wiser, and now with families and lives in tow! Would it be youth rekindled? There was only one way to find out! Having spent the best part of 2 years finding their feet again, PennySpent finally unleashed their own style of alternative rock covers, at a storming return gig – only to be stopped in their tracks by a global pandemic! The Lockdown Years were spent honing their sound and perfecting a set of recognisable classics, done in an alternative rock way, mixed with some 90’s greats and modern crowd pleasers – this was going to be a party! But, just as PennySpent made their second riotous return, the commitments of adult life sadly claimed 3 members of the band. But, for the remaining 2 – it wasn’t over! They weren’t ready to stop just yet!
