The Herman Bouwer Awards Luncheon honors Herman Bouwer, a globally respected pioneer in managed aquifer recharge whose research and leadership helped shape modern groundwater science. A survivor of World War II and longtime Director of the U.S. Water Conservation Laboratory in Phoenix, Dr. Bouwer was also deeply committed to supporting the next generation of water professionals. The Herman Bouwer Award will be presented to an individual or organization that have significantly advanced the understanding or application of managed aquifer recharge.
