Mapping Model
The mapping model aims to show how existing traffic conditions, such as traffic volume, walkability, car ownership and zoning regulations affect the living quality of Fairview residents. The study aims to propose a revitalizing plan to reconnect Fairview through safe streets and proper zoning plans.
Fairview Public Library is located at the center of the neighborhood and can be accessed within 5 to 10 minutes of walking. The site is located at the intersection of Hyder St and 12th Ave and along bus route 11. Fairview Public Library is expected to turn Hyder St into a living street – where pedestrians, bikers, and runners can travel north and south safely.

The design concept is based on healing and reconnecting, which reflects on the building’s massing and circulation within the building. The dividing step represents how highway corridors have been bisecting the neighborhood, whereas the reconnecting step is an effort to stick the open wounded.

The townhouse is a great fit for the current building typology of the area and the potential younger generation owners, who are seeking affordable housing units in Cedars, Dallas.
The design intention is to provide each unit equal amount of natural light and maintain access to the central green space. Units are shifted forward and raised taller to bring natural light into the interior space through windows and clerestory.

Cedars is one of the oldest neighborhoods in downtown Dallas, Texas. Cedars’ rich industrial history makes it the perfect place for adaptive reuse building typology to retain historical features and promote innovative solutions to fit into the urban block condition.
Cedars Vocational School aims to provide students with formal training and give them more opportunities in the job market.
Besides offering formal education for students, the school also offers resources to assist people who are looking for jobs or career consultants.

Imaginary Skyscraper

This project is an example of computation design that showcases rapid design iterations and the capabilities to quickly generate different forms and volumes through Grasshopper script. The project is a new development that contributes to enriching the existing Chicago skyscraper.
TRE30, located near downtown Chicago, is an experimental tower study that aims to provide residential and commercial space. TRE30 is different from other adjacent tower with its unique form, material, and facade.

The overall form of the tower is the result of the study of three tower precedents: Canton Tower, Taipei 101, and Landmark 81. Each precedent feature is later incorporated into the Grasshopper parametric script that provides an opportunity to manipulate them quickly.
The design concept of the tower is also inspired by the shape and characteristics of bamboo. Bamboo is well-known for its flexibility and durability.
