MATCH DAY SATURDAY 27th JANUARY THE NEW LODGE, 3PM

HUTTON FC

C F S R E V O R Y E L M WOR Wormley Football Club was originally formed in 1921 playing its home matches on land donated by Joseph Rochford & Sons, at that time a big name in horticulture as well as being an employer of a large percentage of the local population. The Club was reformed in 1947 after the 2 nd World War, moving to its present ground at Wormley Playing Fields, in Church Lane in 1954. During the late 1940’s, 50’s and early 60’s the Club was a major force in Junior Football, frequently embarrassing more senior opposition during that period. The late 1960’s, and early 70’s saw a decline in fortune, however, this was redressed and by 1975 the Club had progressed to join the Herts Senior County League, where they had two teams performing; the first team in the Premier and the Reserves in Division 2. Despite a few near misses over the years the First team have never managed to lift the Premier Division title. The highlight for the Reserve team was winning the Division 1 Reserve title in 1998-99 dropping only four points in the process. Since stepping up to the Herts Senior County League, the Club formed a successful Youth Section in 1975, with a number of players going on to play in professional ranks. David Bentley, Arsenal, Blackburn & Spurs began his football career with Wormley Youth as did Charlie Lee, Peterborough, Gillingham Stevenage and Yeovil Town. The next step was the addition of a flourishing and successful Vets section in 1984. In line with League requirements, a fixed post and rail was installed in 1990, floodlights were added in 1994, and the brick built dugouts in 1996. Adam Arnold achieved a fifth placed finish in the last season of County league football before embarking in the 2018/19 campaign at step 6 in the Thurlow Nunn league. Despite a tricky start to the season the side settled by October playing at the new level taking several scalps along the way notably inflicting the only home league defeat on eventual champions Hashtag United. A good start to the 2019/20 season saw Wormley spend much of the early season in the top five but a poor run in November and December led to a managerial change take place in February. Jamie Elliot stepped up from assistant to take charge and with a few changes the club went on a long unbeaten run which lifted them to eight place when the season ended due to covid19. The team had also reached the final of the Herts Centenary Trophy in which they were due to play Oxhey Jetts reserves . This game however did not take place and the Herts F A jointly awarded the trophy. Off the field the club installed a new 75 seat stand in march and look forward to the 2020/21 season which will see the club celebrate their centenary season with celebrations hopefully taking place in the new year. The centenary season saw us consolidate ourselves in the division with a seventh place finish and grateful for an undisrupted season at last. Jamie retained most of the squad going into the 2022/23 season but started slowly throwing away points turning winning positions into draws which saw us struggle to climb out of the bottom half early on. September saw a managerial change Jamie Elliot moving to Cheshunt in an assistant manager role. The Club moved quickly to appoint Ryan Wade and John Stevenson to take charge. With the addition of some players with step 5 experience the club went on an amazing run of results that took us into the top three by Christmas accompanied by a good run in the FA Vase bowing out to higher level Sheringham Town in front of a large crowd at church lane. The new year saw continued positive results and saw us go top with three games left after beating eventual champions Frenford at home. However the terrible April weather saw us have to play the last three games in six days which saw us drop into the play off places where we succumbed to a strong Sporting Bengal side who would gain promotion to the Essex senior league. Disappointment was compounded when Ryan Wade decided to leave for Ware FC at the start of pre season training. A dozen players followed in various directions leaving us in a dire situation with barely a month to go before the start of the season. Dean Harrison originally appointed to assist Ryan took charge and to his credit and some players who have stayed loyal have managed to pull a squad together to get us up and running again. Dean Harrison however decided to take a lucrative position as CEO of Kent United after only six games but Ryan Wade unhappy at Ware Fc was very keen to return and rebuild the squad he had assembled from last season.

N O T T U H B U L C L L A B T O O F Hutton Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club. Being part of our community is important to the Club. We expect everyone connected with the Club to be respectful, disciplined and responsible. Our young players will learn the game in a positive environment. Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family not individuals. HUTTON FC HISTORY The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932. A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players. The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League. The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969). The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community. The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning. In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England. Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club. The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve. In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA. The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression. The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South. WHAT 'S SINGHY SAYING?

MATT SINGH, FIRST TEAM MANAGER Due to us having a weekend off, our lads spent Saturday morning in a boxing class at Bosh gym. It was much needed with a bit of fitness and team bonding after a difficult start to the month. Wednesday night wasn’t a pretty game, but one we were very pleased with. We had to change our style and play to the pitch and the lads done it very well. The result couldn’t happen unless all 15 players stuck to the plan and performed well. We gave a debut to Ergis who is a commanding centre back. He is someone we hope to see more of in the coming games. Today will be a very tough test against an experienced side who are on a very good run. Please get behind the boys as always. Singhy

Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again! Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships. As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club. We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced. As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!

“As the manager of the Hutton FC Clarets U9 team, I have witnessed the remarkable development of the team and the strong bond we have built together. Regardless of the game's outcome, whether winning or losing, the team's celebration and spirit are truly incredible. It's inspiring to see their confidence and unity grow with each game, even in challenging weather conditions. Since becoming their manager at the start of last season, I have seen the boys evolve, find their positions on the pitch and enjoyed catching up with them off the field also. The support from their parents has been invaluable and we have become a team together, which the boys truly appreciate too. I look forward to continuing to grow with the team and seeing them enjoy the game they love while progressing as a unit.”

S R O S N O P S OUR HUTTON FC WOULD LIKE TO SAY A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR CLUB AND PLAYER SPONSORS...
