SOUTHENDMANORF

Southend Manor was formed in 1955 by Gil and Doris Medcalf in Southend-on-Sea as a team of 10 and 11-year-old boys Gil Medcalf had played for Eton Manor both before and after the Second World War The team was accepted into the lowest division of the Southend Youth League in 1959 and promptly finished last Steady improvement was made in the Youth League and when the team became too old for youth football, in 1964, Southend Manor entered Division 5 of the Southend Borough Combination The rest of the 1960s saw a steady advance up the divisions with the Premier Division being reached in 1969 The 1970s and early 1980s saw a domination of the Borough Combination In twelve seasons Southend Manor were league champions six times and runners up three times

The league's knock-out cup was won five times and they were once runners up In particular the 1978–79 season saw a closing run of 25 wins and one draw in the last 26 games which included the capture of the Essex Intermediate Cup With both League and League Cup won, an exhausting season ended with the winning of the Southend Charity Competition In the early 1980s entry was gained to the newly formed Southend & District Alliance and two titles were gained in the first three years. With such a good pedigree it must be wondered why Southend Manor were unable to progress to higher standards of football. The problem was that the club used council pitches that were only available for a limited part of the season However, after many years of pressure Southend Manor was allowed to use Southchurch Park (originally sharing with Southend Athletic Club) which had many of the attributes needed for Senior Football

In 1985 the club gained access to the Essex Senior League Reserve Division, while carrying out the work needed to meet senior status requirements This status was reached in 1988 with a new clubhouse being erected In the second season the Essex Senior League Cup was won In season 1990–91 the Essex Senior League title was won along with the Harry Fisher Memorial Cup, while the League Cup saw us fall in the final In 1991–92 the final of the Harry Fisher Memorial Cup was reached but the Club was narrowly defeated by a goal in the last minute of extra time In 1992–93 Southend Manor won the prestigious Essex Senior Trophy, and in 1995–96 they reached the final of the League Cup once more but were beaten by double winners Romford In 1996–97 the club reached the last 32 of the FA Vase and in May of the same year reached the final of the Anglia TV 5-a-side Tournament held at Norwich The 2001–02 season saw the Club win the League Cup against Sawbridgeworth and the Charity Shield against League Winners Brentwood The Eastern Floodlit Cup was won in the season 2002–03

In the 2006–07 season Southend Manor Under 16s Eastern Junior Alliance Side were the first team in the club's history to win the league at this level, and also go through the entire league campaign unbeaten They came up against good opposition with the likes of Grays Athletic F C, Burnham Ramblers F C and Bowers and Pitsea F C

The Mini and Junior Sections of the Club having been introduced in season 1999–2000 are thriving and the Club now fields 17 teams from Under 7 to the First Team Full F A Charter status was awarded to the Youth Section in August 2004, new state of the art floodlights were installed in the same month and, subject to the usual budget considerations, and compliance with ground grading requirements, The Manor will continue to consolidate its position at this level of nonleague football.

The period from 2007–11 saw positive improvements for the club both on and off the pitch During the summer of 2007 a new all Seated 'Main' stand was erected replacing the ageing Athletics stand A further covered terraced stand was erected during the summer of 2009 to complement the main stand at the Arena

On the pitch, the first team continued to boast positive campaigns with several semi-final berths and regular progression within the national FA Vase and FA Cup competitions A fifth-placed finish in the 2010–11 Essex Senior League confirmed a fourth consecutive top six finish for the club [citation needed] The club reached the 4th qualifying round of the 2011-12 FA Cup, the first time the team has done so in its history, and the first time an Essex Senior League side has done since 1993 [2] The club gave Conference giants Kettering Town a scare in a brave 3–1 loss when the sides entered half time at 1–1 in front of a crowd of 989

In December 2015, Wayne Seal and Connor Lane resigned from their positions as First Team Manager & First Team Assistant Manager respectively. In January 2016, Stuart Marshall and Jack Tebbutt were appointed as First Team Manager & First Team Assistant Manager respectively

In October 2018, Michael Walther was removed from his position as First Team Manager with Craig Waters taking over in his place

After a very poor start to the 2021–22 Essex Senior League season and two managers being at the helm, the club appointed ex-Hullbridge Sports first team assistant manager James Wakeling as new manager in late December 2021 He appointed ex-Hullbridge goalkeeping coach as his assistant manager

HUTTON FC HISTORY

The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community

The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.

Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.

The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

MATT SINGH, FIRST TEAM MANAGER

Firstly I would like to thank Dan and the rest of the management team for leading the side whilst I was away They had two tough games to go into and in both games, we were forced to bring in new faces a day or two before just to field a side.

The squad has shown it’s strength considering how many players we have had missing recently To come back from a goal down in both games, also shows that it’s more than just a squad, it’s a squad with a very good team spirit. That said, this isn’t a position we want to keep putting ourselves in.

One pleasing stat we have noticed recently is the amount of young players used so far this season Those who follow our social media will have seen that we have had six seventeen year old players, involved in the 8 first team games so far this season. As a side who have just been promoted and currently sitting top, that is a stat we are very proud of It’s also a stat that shows just how good our senior players are, when it comes to looking after the younger lads and allowing them to feel part of the squad

The club are looking to keep improving the pathway for young players and we are fortunate to have Mario leading this We have a very strong u18 EJA side in place and when the time is right, we will look to start feeding them into our senior sides

Tonight you will also see the introduction of young Kye Smith. Kye played for our Mid Essex A side last season He was then moved into our reserves during pre season Since then he has managed 5 goals in 3 starts and 1 sub appearance He actually appeared on our radar after a few of our first team players recommended him. We are pleased to bring him into the group for tonights game and look forward to seeing him at some point

Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again!

Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships.

As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club

We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced.

As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!

HuttonFCLadies FOOTBALLFOCUS

It was a very hectic close of season for the Hutton women’s team across both the first and the reserve team. This was due to the loss of a manager, along with several other players; retiring, playing at a higher level of football or leaving to start family life. Swiftly temporary new recruit manager, Darren Stacey has been very busy trying to re-shape his new squad ready for the season ahead which as always, will be very competitive what with the team sitting in the Eastern Region League of women’s football (tier 6, 5 leagues below the WSL).

Now, with 6 new signings joining the squad - 3 of which have national league experience and the other 3 having academy u21 football experience the intensity, determination and optimism is 100% on the up.

Our first 3 matches so far have been against Southend Utd, Stevenage and Watford and every week the performance has improved This is very encouraging after all the changes that have happened early in the season.

This season is the women’s first ever time in the FA CUP On Sunday 1st October the

HuttonU11Black MATCHDAYMASCOTS

Thanks to our Hutton U11 Black team for being match day mascots at our recent Hackney Wick league game which we won 2 - 0. It was great for the boys to see the first team in action and get an opportunity first hand to see the footballing pathway at the club.

Manager Dave Langley said: “As a team we’ve gone from strength to strength - seeing the boys progress weekly and enjoy playing with their friends makes it all worth while”
