Bobby Kasanga founded Hackney Wick Football Club in 2015; Hackney’s first ever semi-professional football club in nearly a century
We are not your regular football club, as our ethos is based on community engagement, uniting the local diverse groups as well as battling peer pressure and tackling gang influences
We engage 180 youths from age 4 upwards and 70 male and female adults through our training, fitness and football matches. We do this by offering educational workshops, sporting opportunities, mentoring and access to work opportunities, which actively engage with those already involved in gangs, or those on-the-brink of gang life, and those who might not be aware of the threats out there (as a safeguarding tool).
Hackney Wick FC are a community club whose members and players volunteer our services for free to the Hackney community. Be it providing free football coaching or helping out at various events our members come along and support. We will offer training, employment and community projects which promote health and well-being alongside community safety.
Hackney was one of only a few areas without a professional or semi-professional club, so this has captured the borough’s attention, including the local businesses and media. Hackney is a huge catchment area with the potential to generate thousands of fans for a borough led team.
In recent years we volunteered at Abney Park for their 175-year anniversary, Run Hackney Marathon, Hackney Wicked Festival, Den City, Refugee Camps in France, Hackney Wick Women’s Institute, Fairtrade Foundation, Hackney Quest, Wick Award, Hackney Museum, homeless shelters, Scope charity and created & hosted The Hackney Cup for Health which attracts 500 people annually
We have appeared on BT Sports, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio 5 London, London Live TV, CNN, Copa90, Click on Soccer, Football Focus Magazine, Daily Mirror, Hackney Today, Hoxton Radio, Hackney Gazette, Hackney Post, Hackney Citizens, LoveEast Magazine, The Daisy Cutter, East London Lines, Goal com plus many more
The reason for all this publicity is the way we operate as a football club The adult members of the club all volunteer two hours a month to local causes and organisations which has propelled us into the heart of the Hackney Community Not only with the young but also other vulnerable groups like the elderly who we invite to matches
Hutton Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Football Club. Being part of our community is important to the Club. We expect everyone connected with the Club to be respectful, disciplined and responsible Our young players will learn the game in a positive environment Hutton FC is a Club, a team, a family not individuals
The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community
The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.
Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.
The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

It has been a crazy couple of weeks and a lot has been learnt in that time. We are all glad to have a wednesday off and take in what a great start we have had
To win four out of five games after only getting promotion last season, has been a real buzz for the whole club!
Last Saturdays game was just one of those days. We were up against a side who had no midweek game and a lot of energy That showed a lot in the first half Our lads regrouped at half time and we took control in the second half. Unfortunately for us, it was a penalty that allowed them to open the scoring Once that was converted, it always felt as though it would turn into an end to end game
One positive we took from the game was that even on an off day, we managed to still score two Many even felt we should have had a last minute penalty, to walk away with a point!
Another recent positive was the signing of Jamie Grossart
Those who have been at our recent game would have seen some of the top saves that he has already pulled off. Both the squad and the management are very pleased to have him on board for the season ahead!
With no midweek game, we all used the chance to rest and recover (as well as listen to a few initiations from the new boys). We hope to see an energised performance and reaction this Saturday for everyone to enjoy!

Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again!
Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships.
As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club
We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced.
As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!

A Pathway is vital at any level of football and we have made it our priority over the last few years to ensure that we improve ours. We want our youth players to progress through the age groups and one day play for our 1st team or one of our other senior sides.
My role at the club is to ensure that this takes place. In this process we identify what level of players we have at the club and highlight the players who could potentially make that step up to senior football For this to happen I attend a lot of training sessions at all age groups, as well as matches. With over 70 teams at the club, this isn’t an easy task!
Last season our pathway had huge success, with two 16-year-olds making their debut for the first team, Freddie Miller and Henry Silvester both progressed through our youth set up and played for our EJA side at u15 (20/21 season) and u16 (21/22 season). From there they progressed fully into our senior set up with the occasional appearance for our EJA U18 side Last season, both players were part our the 1st teams title winning squad which were promoted to the Thurlow Nunn.
We also had another seven players who progressed into our senior section. Ryan Quinan, Harrison Connor, Nelson Hakeem, Riley Hyams, Jack Mckinnon, Pranav Ramanathan and Jack Thomas all made their debut last season at the age of 16 and 17
On top of that, we were very proud to see our U16 EJA side managed by Jamie Bowler and Greig Mclachlan have a very strong season, narrowly losing in the Essex Cup Final, which they led for the majority of the game and the Plate cup final. This team have been progressing extremely well and had some standout performers, with Jaden Tucker winning the 'Players player' and 'Parents player' award. Max Brunger won the 'managers player' award and Callum Cathline winning the golden boot. We have high hopes for this team and we have no doubt that some of these players will be making their senior debuts very soon.
