BASILDONTOWNFC
Basildon Town were formed in 1946 and have played in various leagues over the years starting in the Thurrock Combination League then moving onto the Parthenon League and the Basildon League In 1959 we joined forces with local rivals Pitsea United and in 1966 became founder members of the newly formed Essex Olympian Football League and were hugely successful for a few years In 1969 the clubs split into two once more with Basildon Town carrying on in the Essex Olympian League
The Club suffered an almost mortal blow in the summer of 1971 when, out of the blue, we were evicted from our home ground Gun Meadow. We were forced to pull out of the Essex Olympian Football League at the end of the 197071 season. The Club then joined the Southend and District League Premier Division and gradually rebuilt over the next 10 years. In season 1980-81 the first team won the Premier League and the reserves won their divisional cup for the third year running. At the start of the 1981-82 season we returned to the Essex Olympian Football League. The reserves also joined the Olympian League a few years later following the setting up of a reserve section within the Olympian League. The 1980's and early 1990’s were largely unproductive on the field. In the late 1990's the first team had a period of success winning their divisional league in 1998-99 and winning the Basildon Sports Council Trophy on 2 occasions and also the Stanford Charity Cup.
During the years following 2000 our first team had some success in cup competitions but league honours evaded the club. By 2010/11 we were playing in Senior Division 3 with the reserve side in the Reserve Division Three. Since then we have moved through the Leagues and in 2014/15 were champions of Division Two. In 2016/17 we enjoyed probably our most successful season with the first team becoming champions of Division 1 and winning the Senior Cup and the reserves winning Senior Division 4 and the Reserve Cup Back in the Premier League for the first time in over 40 years the first team started 2017/18 well by winning the Senior Challenge Cup but fortunes then declined and a poor season saw us relegated The Reserves had a good season and were promoted to Senior Division 4 In 2018/19 season the first team won promotion back to the Premier League and made the semi final of the Senior Cup
The Reserves had a good season and won their second Reserve Cup Final in 3 years The next 2 seasons, as we all know, were ruined by the global pandemic In season 2022/23 we finished 2nd in the EOFL Premier League and achieved promotion to Thurlow Nunn League In what was our first season at Step 6 last season saw our first team narrowly fail to gain promotion losing out in play off game to Stanway Pegasus at end of what was a very long season
Reserve team won their league in the Essex Olympian Football Club added to clubs A team finishing runners up in their league to complete what was a successful season for the club

HUTTON FC HISTORY
The club was founded in 1928 and has been prominent in local football since that time with cup winner’s medals dating back to 1932 A key factor in the continued success of Hutton Football Club is the progression of young, local players The senior teams played in the Mid Essex League until 1989 when progression was made into the Essex Intermediate, now the Essex Olympian League The Club expanded rapidly after 2005 with the merger of Hutton FC and Hutton Medway FC (established in 1969) The Club now has 70 teams based in our local community
The current club house has been at the Polo Fields for over 50 years, two previous buildings being destroyed by fire, and the second one having been struck by lightning In 2010, the Clubhouse was vandalised and set on fire but has now been repaired and enhanced thanks to a large grant from Sport England.
Recent history has seen more rapid developments at the club The Football Association awarded Hutton FC with Charter Standard Community status which is the highest accreditation a club can achieve In 2005, when the award was granted, there were only nine clubs in the whole of Essex with this status. The Club is very proud to have been awarded Community Club of the year twice by Essex County FA The club has been encouraging girls to come and play for a number of years, and in 2005 the first official Hutton girls’ team was formed and since then, our Ladies 1st and reserve teams have been added to help with progression.
The Club has been involved in a European Tournament played against professional clubs' youth teams, with outstanding facilities. The Clubs are; Saint Ingbert (Germany), Rumelange (Luxembourg) and Zandhoven (Belgium). The tournament celebrates its 50th year in 2025. Our senior men’s 1st team won the EOFL premier division 2022/23 season gaining promotion to the NLS, playing in the Thurlow Nunn League South

MATT SINGH, FIRST TEAM MANAGER
Since our last chat, I am pleased to say that the team have shown a very good reaction and one that we expected. We have been a lot more like our old selves with two clean sheets. We have created many opportunities and with the confidence returning, we are sure that the goals will start to tally again.
The last fixture at St Margs also proved very pleasing as we were able to give a debut to an individual from last seasons under 18’s - Nelson. In total we had four 17 year olds involved in the fixture and that’s something as a management team that we are proud of.
Tonight is the first time our club will ever appear in the Essex Senior Cup. It’s a cup that many step 5/6 sides would like to progress in, as it gives them the chance to play against some of the big boys.
I was happy with the draw as our games in the past have always been exciting. It will be good to catch up with their management team after a season apart and see how both sides have improved.

Hutton FC has one of the most established and respected girls sections in Essex. The section is comprised of a thriving Wildcats group for our newest female ballers and 11 teams ranging from Under 8s through to u18s. Our current Under 8s manager Stuart Hart has already taken one team through the age ranges to under 18 and is now starting again!
Our girl's teams usually start playing in mixed leagues in the Brentwood Community Youth Football League before moving on to play in the Essex County Girls League. The overriding ethos for the section is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for our girls to enjoy their footballing journey, and to create lasting memories and friendships.
As well as looking after teams within the section we also have 3 of our girl's section managers involved as Trustees of Hutton FC and as such the needs of our female players are reflected equally in all decisions made regarding the direction of the club
We currently have a number of openings for girls in years 6, 7 and 8 so are keen to welcome players either new to the sport or experienced.
As the section has grown so too has our need for coaches and managers, so if you'd like to get involved don't hesitate to get in touch!

FOOTBALLFOCUS
Hutton FC Youth Football Hub
Hutton FC's new ground at Chelmsford Road, Shenfield, will finally be played on by our teams this season 2023/24. This marks the culmination of 8 years hard slog for Club volunteers that have battled through Planners, Highways, Football Foundation and COVID.
The ground will be our Youth Hub as we seek to bring the club's teams together to play at a central venue. This will help us hold tournaments and other fundraising events.
The ground will have a car park and modest club house. Our plans are to develop the site further over the next few years.
If you are interested in assisting the club to take this project forward, contact Kevin: kevin.lorkins@btinternet
Hutton U12 Hornets MATCHDAYMASCOTS
The Hornets are a new team and have been together for one season, under the management of Julius, the girls quickly bonded and in their first season gained 2 promotions and reached a cup final in the Essex County Girls League, losing only 3 games in the league, an amazing effort in such a short time, this season we hope we can continue the success.
Goalkeeper - Flori
Flori took over the reins in goal this season and has already won a player of the match award Super confident and a great shot stopper, she has the potential to be a very good goalkeeper.
Defender - Bethany
Bethany plays in the middle of the defence and was very consistent last season. Calm on the ball and quick, her continued talking and communication with her other defenders is crucial for the team
Defender/ Midfielder - Laura
Laura is new to the squad this season and has become an important member of the team Operates normally on the right side, can play right back or right wing, we are expecting good things this year.
Michelle - Utility
Michelle, can and has literally played in every position in the team, very versatile. Plays with the biggest smile on her face and has scored some crucial goals in the success of the Hornets up to now.
Lily. Defender / Striker
Lily played all of last season as a central defender, she is very strong , quick and very rarely loses the ball, this season she has played striker and already scored a few goals!
Keira - Forward
This is Keira’s first season with the Hornets and is making her mark already! Very fast with quick feet and is already the leading scorer in team, one to watch for the future!
Adrianna - Midfielder
Adrianna plays wide on the right or left and is our "Messi” Small and quick, has amazing dribbling skills and pops up with some great goals and assists and is not afraid of a strong tackle.
Belle - Defender
Belle’s first season with the Hornets and has slotted very nicely into the defence! Can play right or centre and again comfortable on the ball and will always try to pass out!
Maisie - Midfielder (Captain)
Maisie plays Centre midfield and is the teams leader and captain. Leads by example with her running and communication, she has a powerful shot and scored 23 goals last season, 18 outside the box!
Poppy - Midfielder
Poppy plays left midfield and has got a very good left foot, will supply crosses and scores important goals, scored a brilliant goal in last seasons cup final .
Lexi - Defender
Lexi plays left back, hasn’t missed a game, very rarely gets beaten by a right winger, Ever reliable and a very strong player, who is also quick! Very important player to the team,
Julius - Manager
Denzel Washington lookalike Julius took over the team Aug 22, with 5 players He built up a strong squad for last season and now this season, the team is stronger. Keen on discipline, he’s no nonsense approach to management keeps the girls in check, but sometimes joins in with girls doing cartwheels and gymnastics. Will definitely show some moves during half time to the supporters.
