I firstly would like to thank the entire Hutcheon and Pearce Team for your ongoing commitment and dedication, especially your efforts over the busy harvests that occur throughout the year. I have heard and witnessed some truly “Above and Beyond” moments supporting our customers this harvest and it is great to see! We have some major accomplishments to be proud of over the last 12 months and all of you involved should feel proud of your efforts, but please do not stress; we have even more planned for 2016! JD L340 - Big Square Baler at Cowra Early this morning the L340 Big Square Baler went for its first run and was very successful in the volume and quality of the bales. During the early hours of the morning Matt French and Carel-Frik Meintjes demonstrated the machine to three customers who have currently run New Holland and Case balers. The groups baled dry land lucerne with estimated bale weights to around 650kgs. The baler will go out tomorrow and bale straw behind Rod Wrights S680s and some further possible demos from there as weather and crops permit.

Cowra Harvest Clinic Matt Newham - Branch Manager Cowra

On the 28th of October Hutcheon and Pearce Cowra conducted its S Series harvester clinic. The clinic was held for customers that purchased a new S Series harvester in 2015.

Parts staff, Craig Loomes and David Chambers, spoke to customers about the call out and the after hours service offered by the dealership during harvest.

Lead by workshop foreman Carel-Frik and assisted by Angus Goodacre, Aaron Amery and Matt French, the clinic covered off setup, service and technology points on the S-Series harvesters to ensure that customers get the best out of the new harvesters and fronts.

To conclude the clinic customers and staff enjoyed a meal and a cold beer at the Mill Restaurant.

Andrew Watt from TECSight stepped customers through the use of JDLink and MyJohnDeere to demonstrate the full use of the technology options that each new harvester comes with

Albury Harvest Demo Days5 Craig Christensen - Albury Branch Manager

Albury harvester demos of the John Deere S680 have been progressing along well with a number of customers now having the opportunity to operate the new machine. Some comments so far, have been around the impressive improved power, currently rated peak power of 540hp , also the new air flow design that helps keep the engine bay and fuel tank area clean. The S680 was also demoed with the power fold grain bin option which allows for an impressive 14100L capacity that folds up with the push of a button for easy transport. The now familiar 2630 display has also been incorporated to provide combined functionality and also run the autotrac and yield mapping which can be remotely sent to the My John Deere website for easy download. The new cab offers unsurpassed visibility, operator comfort, convenience, and productivity. The combine cab is 254-mm (10-in.) wider and 190-mm (7.5-in.) deeper than 70 Series Combines which also had some positive comments. To those who donated to the call to action after the Nepal earthquakes: Once again thank you. Our earlier donation went toward temporary housing for the people who lost their homes in the earthquake. This was very much needed due to the pending wet season not long after the quake. My Dad went over there for ten days, 2 weeks ago to have a look at the next project he and his associates will be involved in and whilst there took some photos of the housing we helped provide.

2016 is closing in and 2015 saying goodbye. Wow what a year. New TAFE, new recruitment program, new training packages, clarifying and honing my role, personal training, challenging ups and challenging downs. With a manager like mine, there is no idle and I love it. In the coming year we have 12 Ag Mechanical Apprentices starting and 5 rotating department apprenticeships kicking off. These apprenticeships are a bit different to anything we have done before and are preparing young employees for wider opportunities. We all know that it is very hard in this Ag Industry to find good technicians. To help with the industry shortage of technicians, we have chosen to find and train good apprentices from the group up through the service ranks. Similarly, there are shortages in rural NSW for good service managers, service foreman, service advisors and in parts too. We are taking a step forward toward rectifying this problem and re writing the rule book. We are taking students fresh from the school yard, that have little experience with Ag machinery but are keen on sales, parts, service advisor, leadership roles and precision farming. Traditionally, traineeships in these roles did not require much mechanical knowledge or experience. Henceforth, the training will no longer be only 2 years but a solid 4 years with more technical, mechanical and on the job experience to support their area of speciality. Now they will know exactly where the hydraulic pump is located and how to sell them or locate the spare parts.

They will split their time at work between different departments, moving from learning how to service machinery, ordering and receipting parts in the warehouse, to serving customers at the front counter. They may spend time with salesmen to teach them the right questions to ask or spend time at TECSight learning the finer points of AMS and Precision Farming. Regardless of their specialty area, we are of the belief in giving these apprentices a better base of mechanical knowledge that will help them in whichever role future opportunities shall come their way. We are aiming to produce more rounded, flexible and mechanically trained employees. With the schools and TAFE’s I have visited this year, I have encountered some top notch young people, that with the right training, direction and environment, will help us fill these gaps we have In Hutcheon and Pearce and help take this company through many more Christmas’. Six months ago, we started a service optimisation project in conjunction with John

Deere’s Dealer Development team. This process started with the John Deere team interviewing our Service Managers, Service Advisors and some technicians at all 11 Hutcheon and Pearce locations. The interviews revolved around the current service processes at each location and what the team did on a daily basis. This information was then consolidated into a report. We invited Service Managers and Service Admin to a two day conference in Wagga, to discuss some of the best processes that were in use at each location throughout the group. As a team, we then picked out which processes

Handle-Customer Relationship Management Kym Redfern - Handle Project Manager

Hutcheon & Pearce is excited to announce we are introducing Handle by CustomerTRAX. Handle is a simple, smart and speedy customer management relationship solution to help us more effectively serve our customers and manage our business. This system will help us to successfully communicate between our sales, parts, service and TECSight departments, by tracking customer requests, issues and opportunities and making sure the appropriate people are notified to action them. The system allows us to make sense of our business data and to use this more effectively to help us follow up with customers, capture and act on important information and better manage our time and resources. The benefit to our customers is you will see real resolutions to issues, quicker answers to your questions, and we will be able to deliver on your actual needs. It will also mean we will have less time in the office on paperwork and more time developing solutions for you, our customers. Our overall goal is to increase customer and employee satisfaction. We are currently in the process of piloting this new system with our Albury and Cowra branches. This involves setting up the system with our data, learning what we can do with the system and getting the team trained up on the application. After a period of time, this system and process will be rolled out across the whole Hutcheon & Pearce group.

Admin Roadshow Karen Garnsey - CFO

During October & November the SRO admin team enjoyed the opportunity to travel to 9 of our 11 branches and catch up with the teams, in particular those in admin. We covered a lot of ground ranging from engagement survey feedback, new admin processes and the coming of the new John Deere Sales Centre. Where possible the sales teams joined us for the JDSC session and I want to thank them for making time to get an overview of the journey we are embarking on with Deere and in particular the points at which Admin & Sales will be shoulder to shoulder to make it happen. It was also great to see everyone in their home environment and get out of Meerkat Manor for a while! First stop was Temora – we really appreciated Russell, Lisa and the team (left) for making us feel welcome and who would have thought you could fit 8 of us in Russ’s office? We were well fed with delicious morning tea and lunch and had some great discussions. It was particularly good to get the benefit of Lisa’s expertise – she’s learnt a bit in the last 26 years! Ben also squeezed in for the JDSC overview – thanks for your time Ben. Next branch off the mark was Albury – we were all impressed with the well-oiled machine that is Albury admin. Craig, Marg, Di & Janice gave us some really useful feedback and we enjoyed the tour of the branch, and all agreed the shop presentation was excellent. We had a good discussion on the JDSC with Ashley and Keith, thanks for joining us guys. Our third stop was at Finley – as usual the hospitality of the Armstrongs was in evidence! Thanks to Sandy, Liz, Cathy (right) and all the Finley team for their input and excellent hosting and a special thanks to Emma (right) for travelling over from Coly to join us for the day. We also had very good participation from Myles & James on the sale centre discussions, hope you didn’t miss too many calls! The fourth visit was a bit closer to home, up at our old haunt the Wagga branch. Thanks to Fonz, Molly, Lorraine & Katie for having us back – it still feels like home! We got some really good suggestions from the team and certainly appreciated the time everyone committed to the process. It was also good for those who hadn’t been out the back before to see where the real work happens! The fifth road trip saw us at Cowra – we were all impressed with what a great job all the team are doing in Cowra, just getting on with it, in spite of the pigeons! We had some good honest conversations and it was great to get some sales input from Frenchy on the JDSC. From Cowra we travelled over to catch up with Barry, Ainslie, Scott and the gang at Parkes (left). We were again very well looked after and had an interesting tour of the current facility – all the team are really doing a tremendous job getting the yard and sheds cleaned up and workshop reorganised. The queries raised during our session were also very helpful, and particular thanks to Darren & Chris for participating in the JDSC session and raising relevant queries and some good suggestions regarding our internal housekeeping. We were unfortunately unable to catch up with Debbie who was ill but we look forward to a special trip to Condo in the near future. Griffith was next – we enjoyed the trip across from Wagga with everything looking so green and the tremendous variety in agriculture around Griffith. Tony, Libby, Di & Janice were terrific hosts and we were all impressed with the facilities at the shop and enjoyed hearing about the history of the branch from Tony. Special mention to Tim, who travelled across from Lake to join us despite being so busy, many thanks, and Robbo for giving us some time on JDSC. Our final call was at Narrandera, on a nice rainy day in early November – remember them?! Despite being so busy Katie, Debbie & Jason were great hosts and very generous with their time. We appreciated a tour of the premises and it was a good chance for the admin team to get more of a feel for the Narrandera operations. Thanks to all the branch managers and admin teams for hosting us – you looked after us far too well so we will be back to annoy you shortly. Thanks also to Nikita, Sonja, Jason, Bridget, Pete & Bill for joining me on the trip without one instance of back seat driving! Wishing you all the best for a safe and productive end to the harvest season and a very Merry Christmas.

Sales End of Year Meeting 2015 Jacqueline Negline-Smyth -HR Manager

The end of 2015 has come to an end and the Sales team came together at the Temora Research Centre (right) to share learnings and ideas to improve processes, communication and how to better meet our customers’ needs. The new Handle software was a hot topic and we are all excited about how we can communicate in a more timely, informed and professional manner. The new Customer Relationship Management tool will enable all key responsible people to be kept in the loop when a customer needs a certain part, a header inspection is due to be completed, warranty is about to expire, TECSight updates and error codes, new onsite parts cabinets need restocking .....the list of uses is endless. The new PowerGuard Protection Plan was discussed and the link into fixed price servicing and travel ranges for the new STORM promotion tractors. TECSight processes for new machinery pack and delivery optimisation, JDLink setup, and Farm Information Management (FIM) were discussed along with plans for infield customer visits and training sessions planned. With the new Precision Farming and Agronomy staff joining the TECSight team, we are keen to get out with customers to assist with Best Practice Technology Management for optimal machine usage and getting the paper mapping out of the cupboard and into use, in sync with the machinery using MyJohnDeere.com and Mobile Data Transfer. The AgForesight tools assist us to datamine using a customer’s MyJohnDeere data like fuel consumption, yield mapping to optimise their operation. Further in the afternoon, Bill Armstrong zoomed in on the gator with his new Shelbourne Renyolds complementary tshirt and did the cool high 5 with Andrew Sands to lead us all into the exciting opportunities ahead for our customers with the new fronts. These fronts offer better fuel economy, hardy fingers requiring rare replacements, speed capability to get grain off quickly, maintain quality and more moisture retention with a choice for straw options for later. Each of us all were supplied the Shelbourne tshirt for the compulsory evening attire shown off below.

2015 Sales Recognition Awards The evening began with an invasion of H&P to the Termo Hotel in Temora. The big bus drove us to The Globe Hotel in Cootamundra for pre-dinner drinks and entree nibbles. Our destination on the mystery bus tour soon became apparent when we pulled up at the Wombat Hotel. The venue outside offered a great atmosphere for the trivia night and Awards presentation dinner. True to the Sales team’s competitive spirit, it was a battle for the winner of the Trivia quiz. The final two teams ended in a deal breaker question and by default of a wrong answer, Keith Kilo and Jason Harmer were the apparent winners of the Tool award. Used Equipment Saleman of the Year was presented by Stuart Robertson our Used Sales Manager and won by Matthew French (below left) from Cowra. New starters at H&P Jordan Lee (below) joined the TECSight team from the Victorian Wimmera. Jordan has a wide range of experience having completed his trade qualification with Cummins before studying an Advanced Diploma of Agriculture and Diploma of Agronomy at Longerenong College. Before the completion of his courses, Jordan started with Emmetts as a Sales Consultant then moved into their Integrated Solutions team.

After leaving Emmett’s Jordan spent time working on a farm operating John Deere equipment before joining Elders as a Graduate Agronomist with Elders Horsham. Jordan has a keen interest in crop production and machine operation. He is always looking to improve machine optimisation, increasing efficiencies and assist growers to get the most out of their precision ag equipment. As well as knowledge of GreenStar™, Jordan has had experience with yield, variable rate and NDVI (Normalised Difference Vegetation Index) data. He sees great potential in the data space. Jordan was selected as Horsham Rural Ambassador in 2013. He has been active in the Victorian Farmers Federation’s Young Agribusiness Professionals Committee, Wimmera Karting Club and Horsham APEX. Jordan is looking forward to getting involved in the local community. Clare Robinson (left) also joined the TECSight team in December, and comes with an agronomy and spatial data analysis background. Clare grew up on a cropping and sheep farm NW of Condobolin, and now lives in Albury with her husband Tim. Clare is looking forward to ensuring that H&P customers have the skills and understanding to make the most of H&P’s extensive suite of products and services. Outside of work hours, Clare enjoys heading home to the farm, and is involved in a number of community groups.

Tyson has spent his work life in a variety of positions selling anything from heaters and coolers, gourmet food and now agricultural machinery. After spending just a few days initially as part of his induction with Sandy and the team at Finley, Tyson feels that he is surrounded by a wealth of knowledge and dedication, and is looking forward to soaking up as much as he can to move forward in his own success as a sales representative. Callum Dumesny joined the Service team in Wagga last September. Callum is 23, born in Henty. Callum is an experienced , qualified automotive technician specialising in small engine repairs and on board diagnostics. He has had 8 years in the Auto industry and moved across to H&P to expand his knowledge and further his career. Callum is a keen off roader and fisherman and has recently become engaged to Natalie and they currently reside in Henty. He is also a successful AFL player with Henty and just won the reserves premiership this season. Callum is really excited to play a part of the new workshop team in Wagga and has already made a huge positive impact there .

Alan Ash (below) has rejoined the H&P family in Finley. After 15 years on the job Allan thought retirement was for him. So he packed up his tools and headed out bush to work on the farm getting an insight of things from the other side. Three years down the track and he has been resurrected and is back like Lazarus and there is no stopping him. As much as he thinks he can do it like he use to, conditions apply. Allan is enjoying being back in the shed. Tyson Ellis (right) joined the Colleambally Sales team this week Tyson believes it is a dream come true to have both his passion for sales and agriculture come together in one exciting career. High Performance Academy Jacqueline Negline-Smyth - HR Manager

The HPA’s MANAGE program for Emerging Leaders has been running since July. A dozen team members from all departments have come together monthly to further their Leadership and Management skills. Whilst theory is learnt and discussed, the most value has been the conversations of the application of the theory into our work life. The Emerging Leaders have been set tasks to trial in their respective teams and are currently using this busy harvest season to build higher performing teams with productive conflict and feedback. The MANAGE team have all conducted a DISC Advanced profile on themselves and have been using their deeper understanding of their own behaviour to appreciate and accommodate other’s behaviour. The next six months ahead till graduation will see the team learn about innovation, continuous improvement and change, financial management, talent recruitment, retention and development, presentation and meeting management. Good luck to all the team over the next six months as they grow further as H&P leaders. The HPA’s LEAD program for H&P’s Management Team saw the Functional anad Branch Managers spend two days off site at Borambola Winery to invest in a deeper understanding of ourselves. The team were debriefed on 360 degree profiles conducted earlier in the year and then complemented this with a DISC Advanced profile. Not only was it a huge self awareness exercise, but more importantly as a team, why we function the way we do. This learning assited with the team committing to ourselves and each other some really proactive steps to build better communication, engage our teams better and how to make a conscious effort to be more productive executers. The two days saw us all compare each others strengths and opportunities and openly discuss ideas to improve the gaps. The candid conversations were a great step forward to improve team effectiveness and our leadership skills. The pictures to the right are the team using the beautiful surroundings to debrief the feedback privately before group discussions.

Order Management is coming in 2016 Kym Redfern OM Project Manager

Over the last 18 months Hutcheon & Pearce have been working with John Deere as 1 of 4 Order Management Pilot dealers across Australia and New Zealand. The global Order Management project is driving the development and implementation of the John Deere Sales Centre, a new application that allows dealers to interact with John Deere for all functions within the whole goods sales process. The highly engineered application enables an end to end integrated approach for dealers to configure products, quote customers, order machines, manage orders, plan deliveries, record retail sales, and process payments. The goal of the Order Management program is to deliver processes and systems that will be significantly more efficient and effective than current solutions for dealers and the company. Our Go-Live date for the pilot system is 4 April 2016.
