OPERATING SAFETY

1. All customers are REQUIRED to perform a Risk Assessment for every implement on their property.

2. Safety instructions are critical. Thoroughly read all manuals, attachments, and decals. Adhering to safety rules is essential to avoid serious injury or even death.

3. Seek Assistance If Needed: If any part of the manual is unclear, reach out to your local dealer for guidance and training. No operator, regardless of their experience, should operate any machinery without proper training.

4. Handle Hydraulic Systems Safely:

• Keep your hands and body clear of pressurized hydraulic lines. Use cardboard or paper to detect leaks, not your hands.

• Always wear safety goggles. Hydraulic fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing severe injury or death. If hydraulic fluid enters the skin or eyes, seek immediate medical attention from a physician trained in this type of injury. Prompt action is critical to prevent gangrene or other serious complications.

5. Operators must fully understand all controls and know how to stop the equipment quickly in case of an emergency.

6. Only trained and competent individuals should operate the equipment. Children or untrained individuals must never be allowed to use the machinery.

7. Ensure all bolts, screws, and other hardware are tight and properly installed before use.

8. Wear snug-fitting clothing to prevent entanglement in moving parts. Heavy-duty boots with rough soles, protective gloves, goggles, and hearing protection should also be worn as applicable

6. Stop When Striking an Obstacle: If the equipment hits an obstruction, stop immediately, shut off the engine, remove the key, and inspect for damage. Repair any issues before resuming operation.

7. Safe Maintenance Practices:

• Before performing any maintenance, lower the equipment to the ground or secure it with robust supports, release hydraulic pressure, shut off the engine, engage the parking brake, remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop.

• Never place body parts under raised implements or between movable parts. Hydraulic systems can fail or creep, causing unexpected movement.

• During maintenance, keep the tractor key with you to prevent accidental activation by others.

Additional Precautions

1. Use Genuine Parts: Only use original replacement parts to ensure safe operation and maintain warranty coverage.

2. Storage Safety: Block implements securely for storage, and keep children and bystanders away from storage areas.

3. Operator Responsibility: Safety starts with the operator. Proper training and a cautious, informed approach are the best tools to prevent accident

OPERATION CONT.

Attaching to the Implement

1. Secure Connections:

• Use the supplied hitch pins to attach the implement to the tractor's lower link arms and secure them with lynch pins.

• Connect the tractor's top link to the implement's top clevis using the top hitch pin, ensuring it is secured with a lynch pin.

2. Safety During Connection:

• Never stand between the tractor and the implement when connecting.

• Always find a level or flat surface for attaching the implement.

• Clean the hydraulic connectors and couple to tractors hydraulic banks

3. Adjust Anti-Sway Devices: Properly adjust the tractor's lower linkage arms anti-sway devices to prevent the implement from swinging during transport or operation. Failure to do so can cause severe damage or injury.

4. Safety Before Dismounting or Maintenance:

• Lower the 3-point linkage and any raised components to the ground.

• Release hydraulic pressure by operating valve levers, stop the engine, set the parking brake, remove the key, and unfasten the seat belt (if installed).

5. Prevent Accidental Startup: During checks, repairs, or adjustments, ensure no one can accidentally start the tractor or implement. Always keep the tractor key in your pocket.

2. Avoid Reverse Operation:

• The harrow is designed for forward movement only. Operating it in reverse may cause damage to the implement.

3. Crossing Terrain:

• Never cross a ditch or steep bank straight on. Raise the harrow and cross at an angle to prevent damage.

General Guidelines

• Read the Manual: Before operating the Regener8r Harrow, read the Operator’s Manual thoroughly.

• Prepare the Site: Ensure the area is dry, well-drained, and free of mud or excessive moisture. The soil should not stick to your shoes during inspection.

• Operation: Harrowing begins when the unit touches the ground, and the tractor moves forward. Avoid operating on wet or muddy terrain.

• Sharp Corners: Leave enough room at the end of each pass to maneuver without blocking the tractor into a corner. Do not take sharp turns while the harrow is on the ground.

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

Before Dismounting Tractor or Performing Maintenance:

• Disengage Power to Implement

• Lower the 3-point linkage and any raised components to the ground.

• Operate valve levers to release any hydraulic pressure.

Turn Off and Secure the Tractor

• Stop the engine, set the parking brake and remove the key.

Avoid Hydraulic System Hazards

• Never place any part of the body underneath the implement or between moving parts, even when the engine is off.

• Hydraulic systems can “creep” (slowly lower) or fail unexpectedly.

• Always follow the Operator’s Manual for servicing or have a qualified dealer perform maintenance.

Prevent Accidental Activation

• Ensure no one can switch on the tractor or implement accidentally.

• Remove the tractor key from the ignition.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

• Wear tight-fitted clothing to prevent entanglement.

• Use heavy-duty, rough-soled boots for stability.

• Protect yourself with appropriate eye, hair, hand, hearing, and headgear.

MAINTENANCE LOG

This record is to stay with the instruction manual and be used as proof of upkeep should a claim be lodged. Hustler requires you to keep track of approx 12 monthly maintenance by having your service provider routinely fill out the log, or by keeping receipts of work done. Routine checks will save ongoing repair costs. Pre-season is the best time for this. Excluded items are wear parts and electric components.
