Corporate and Professional Partnerships with Husson University

HUSSON UNIVERSITY

HUSSON IS HOW.

We are proud of the difference a Husson education makes. Our longstanding reputation of excellence can be seen in how our graduates reach their goals, how their lives are changed for the better, and how their success ripples through our wider community and economy.

Through our Institute for Strategic Leadership and Workforce Development, your organization can become a corporate partner, with access to the Institute’s customized education, training, and internship opportunities. We will work to tailor programming specific to your organization’s needs — from workforce development and consulting to research, internships and more.

By partnering with us, you can increase employee retention, inspire innovation, develop your team’s career skills and leadership abilities, find your future employees via internships, and advance not only your company’s mission but also the strength of our regional economy.

HUSSON IS MAINE

The heart of Maine is our people. Husson employs hundreds of Mainers and offers a top-quality education to Maine residents while also drawing the best and brightest students and faculty from across the nation and around the world to our great state. We value our role as a social and economic engine and community supporter, and we measure our success by the prosperity of the region. 650+

PEOPLE EMPLOYED BY HUSSON UNIVERSITY

“We chose Husson as a partner because their values match our own—respect, integrity, customer service, perseverance— and because they are Maine-based. They don’t just focus on the education; they focus on building Maine’s social and economic ecosystem. Husson is trying to educate the state of Maine and make sure people stay in Maine with those skills.”

A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES

Maine is an amazing place to learn and grow, but the next great idea or industry could spring up several time zones (or several continents) away. That’s why we bring the world to Husson by giving our students the skills and—through hands-on learning and the most advanced technology—the experiences they need to share Husson with the world.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE

“We’ve partnered with Husson University since 2011. They brought a highly valued MBA program on campus for in-person courses to make the program accessible to our employees. They have also provided access to online programming for all of our employees in Maine, Connecticut and California. This is an important connection for our employees’ personal and professional development.”

HANDS-ON AND FUTURE-FOCUSED

Our students take advantage of diverse opportunities to engage with experiential learning throughout our curriculum.

Take our iEX (pronounced “eye-ex”) Center, for example. It’s an interdisciplinary innovation hub focused on harnessing the potential of Extended Reality technologies and augmented experiences to solve current and future real-world problems with regional partners.

What does that mean for you? Your employees will be able to apply what they learn in the classroom to the real world. They will gain the skills to lead and innovate in the marketplace of tomorrow while they also put those skills to work for your company today.

From local business owners to Fortune 500 executives, defense attorneys to former NCIS agents, former submarine officers to practicing nurses, our faculty hail from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. Working with faculty members composed of both traditional academics and professors of practice, our Strategic Leadership and Workforce Development Institute participants enter the workforce with up-to-date knowledge and are prepared to become vital team players and valuable leaders.

“We’ve worked closely with Husson to develop an institute for young leaders in northern Maine. It’s a nine-month experience with project learning and outside speakers geared around creating cohesion and leadership skills for the next generation of leaders. Our goal is to bring this offering to small businesses that wouldn’t otherwise have that access and to individuals for whom travel may be an impediment. It’s been very successful.”

“Northern Light Health has partnered with Husson University for decades to ensure nursing students have realworld experience in the healthcare setting, and many of their nursing graduates either begin their careers at one of our ten hospitals or further their careers in Husson graduate programs. Also, Husson faculty have been a key part of our own internal leadership development program for current and aspiring Northern Light leaders.”

“A number of years ago we learned that many of our own employees had started but not completed degrees for a variety of life reasons. In partnership with Husson, we worked to help as many employees as possible complete their degree. Together we also designed a specialized MBA program that would enable our employees already with a bachelor’s degree to complete a graduate degree in an accessible way while remaining fully employed.”
