Auch wenn es sich nur um eine kurze Zeit der Nutzung handelt: Angestellte und Kunden sollen sich selbst in provisorischen Bankgebäuden wohlfühlen. Die »Blue Box«, ein modulares System, erfüllt diesen Wunsch und kommt den Forderungen nach Flexibilität in der Größe und niedrigen Herstellungskosten nach. Ein Grundbaustein ist 3 m breit und 9 m lang, meistens werden 3 Module kombiniert, sodass sich bei einer lichten Raumhöhe von 2,50 m eine Fläche von 9 ≈ 9 m ergibt . Die Gründung erfolgt mittels 3 in Längsrichtung verlegter Balken. Weitere Verankerungen sind aufgrund des Eigengewichts nicht notwendig. Alle Teilelemente wie Dach-, Wand- und Bodentafeln sind in Holzrahmenbauweise konstruiert und entsprechen in ihren Abmessungen normalen Transportstan-
dards. Sie sind wärmegedämmt, Dach- und Wandelemente zusätzlich noch hinterlüftet. Das minimal geneigte Pultdach kragt 40 cm aus, sodass auf eine Dachrinne verzichtet werden kann. Um die Spannweite der Dachkonstruktion zu halbieren, wird mittig eine Stützenreihe eingefügt. Die Gebäudelängsseiten erhalten je Modul ein raumhohes Fensterelement mit einem Sonnenschutz aus drehd baren Lamellen. Den Eingang auf der sonst geschlossenen Giebelseite bildet eine Box, deren umlaufender Holzrahmen zugleich Vordach und seitlicher Windschutz ist. Das System kommt auch als Ausstellungsraum oder Infopavillon zum Einsatz und besteht in diesem Fall aus nur einem Modul.
The “Blue Box” meets the requirements of the brief by providing a flexible, low-cost, temporary structure withc a pleasant internal ambience. The modular system consists of a basic unit 3 m wide and 9 m long. Three modules are combined here to create a single structure 9 ≈ 9 m on plan with a room height of 2.50 m. The elements are laid on a supporting base, consisting of three beams. The wall, roof d and floor panels are in timber-frame construction with insulation. To reduce the span of the minimally sloping roof, a row of columns was inserted along the middle of the space. A room-height window can be installed in every module, with pivoting louvres to provide sunshading. The system can also be used for exhibition or information pavilions. c
