2022 SUMMER INTERN - LEGAL SYMPLICITY ID: 360872 The CIBC Bank USA Legal Department is seeking a law school student to serve as a Legal Intern for Summer 2021. The Legal Intern will participate in a variety of projects and will gain valuable exposure to the workings of an in-house legal department at a US financial institution that is also part of an international banking organization. The CIBC Bank USA Legal Department supports all of the Bank's activities, and the Legal Intern will be exposed to a wide variety of areas of law, as well as regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational matters.
Please note: This position is located in Chicago, at CIBC Bank USA's Loop headquarters. At this time we anticipate, but cannot guarantee, that it may also be performed remotely or in a hybrid fashion. We encourage law students of all US geographies to apply.
PAID OPPORTUNITIES
1L SUMMER ASSOCIATE 2022 - MINNEAPOLIS SYMPLICITY ID: 360840 Fredrikson & Byron is the premier Midwest-based law firm working collaboratively to help businesses achieve their goals regionally, nationally, and globally.
We are seeking 1L Summer Associates to join our 2022 Summer Associate Program in Minneapolis. Our summer associate program is designed to give you a good sense of what it is like to practice law at Fredrikson, while also giving you the opportunity to meet people at the firm, hone your skills, become familiar with the Twin Cities, and enjoy the summer. Summer associates receive projects from every area in their office location.
Although the realities of law practice mean that it is often easier to “parcel out” portions of litigation and legal research, Fredrikson's summer associates have the opportunity to work on and observe the transactional side of the practice as well. Our program is flexible: if you are interested in a particular area of law that is practiced within your office, you should be able to get projects from that area.
PAID OPPORTUNITIES
LAW CLERK SYMPLICITY ID: 360858 Job entails research and writing, with a mix of short-term and long-term projects. Work will focus on legal aspects of internal union administration, numerous federal labor, civil rights and related statutes, and assistance with developing and implementing major union policy initiatives. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with OPEIU, Local 2.
Excellent analytical and writing skills and commitment to the labor movement are required. Must be enrolled in an accredited law school. Second- and third-year students preferred, but first year students with a strong background will be considered.
Full-time (36.25 hours/week) in the summer, 15-20 hours per week during school year. Applicants who can commit to both the summer and at least one semester during the school year are preferred.
Please send resume, unofficial transcript, and writing sample to hrposition@bacweb.org.
