How to Become a Solicitor in UK? A solicitor provides clients with advice about different aspects of the law, from property purchases, wills, divorces, civil or criminal cases, or corporate or commercial transactions. As a solicitor, you can have your own private practice, you can join a firm of solicitors, you can become the in-house legal advisor at a private or public enterprise, or you can work for the Crown Prosecution Service.

Bar Courses From September 2020, the UK introduced a new route to become a Barrister in the UK, replacing the earlier Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). These new rules are meant to make training for the Bar more accessible, affordable and flexible.

Following your law degree, you have to complete a vocational course in the UK, followed by a pupillage or work component. This will qualify you to become a barrister in the UK. This process is highly demanding and competitive.

Different providers have different names for their courses, such as Bar Course, the Bar/Barrister Training Course (BTC), the Bar Practice Course (BPC), the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) and Bar Vocational Studies (BVS). Some universities offer the option of combing the Bar course with the LLM degree.
