Pier Pressure was a final project undertaken in a course titled ‘Urban Design for Planners’ where I was challenged to develop a design intervention for an underutilized space in Boston. Orienting my work around a waterfront area in Charlestown currently being used as a parking lot, I suggested transforming the pier into a park, and introducing new buildings, greenways, and a harbor walk to draw people towards the water.
