Prayer for Hope Today I feel helpless and weak, and I need Your strength.

My God, I pray You will touch my spirit and remind me that with You all things are possible.

Show me once again, now, in my hour of weakness, that through You I will find hope for a better future.

Through You, I will find a more meaningful life.

Help me to grasp Your strong hand and find my own strength therein.

In the name of Your son Jesus Christ please hear my prayer, Amen.

Prayer for Strength Father in Heaven, I am weary.

I am tired. My energy is sagging and my motivation is low.

Especially today, I need Your love to get my life back on track.

In Psalm 28:7 I read that You are my strength and my shield.

Please help me say no when I am tempted to surrender to the easy way.

Please help me say yes, to Your will and Your way.

Hear this prayer, oh Lord that I pray in Your holy name, Amen.

Prayer in Time of Grief Father of love, in this hour of deep grief comfort us.

Wrap us in Your strong embrace and shelter us from the storm.

Take us into Your tender care as we pour out our heartbreak to You. Be our place of refuge.

As we look toward the future, calm our hearts O God and still our anxious minds.

For all life is found in You. All our being is given to You. And all our hope begins with You. Hear us and heal us, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Feeling Afraid Heavenly Father, I feel afraid, and need Your comfort and guidance.

You are the source of strength and courage in my life, and in this moment I need Your direction.

Help me feel the truth of Your Word that says, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”

Jesus, I place my trust in You and know that if You are with me, nothing can defeat me.

In Christ’s most holy name I earnestly offer up this prayer, Amen.

Prayer for Children Father of us all, I commend these children (or this child) to Your care.

Be their God and Father and mercifully provide whatever I lack through my own frailty and weakness.

Give them the strength to overcome temptations and corruptions, and deliver them from the pressures, fears, anxieties, and emotional upheavals that seem so omnipresent in their young lives.

Help them grow each day in knowledge and in reverence, faithfully serving You and learning how to walk every day in Your light.

In this and all things I humbly pray in His holy name, Amen.

Prayer in Times of Disaster Father, once again we are reminded that any security we have comes only from the abiding hope and trust we have in You. Lord, we come to You today cut to the heart at the loss of life and damage our community has suffered. We pray that the families and victims of this tragedy will find comfort and respite in Your peace.

And Father we pray for the emergency workers. Protect them and give them the courageous hearts and steady hands they need to perform their duties above and beyond the levels of their training.

In the midst of destruction, help us find peace and safety in Your love.

In the name of Your son Jesus Christ, Amen.

Prayer to Love my Enemies Lord God, Prince of Peace, You have asked us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.

To teach us how, You sent us Your son Jesus Christ who, even in the agony of crucifixion, cried, “Father forgive them.”

Help me pray for those who have harmed or tried to harm me. Give me the grace to truly forgive my enemies and bless those who persecute me.

In so doing, I may reflect the loving grace You have shown to me.

I ask this in the name of Your son, Christ our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for Generosity O gracious God, You who so generously lavish our lives with riches of the spirit, create in my heart deep wells of gratitude that I may share freely of my treasures.

Remind me daily how abundant are the gifts You have given me, that I may give without counting the cost, and sacrifice myself, with no thought of reward other than the knowledge that I have done Your will.

This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
