Unit III Women’s Volleyball Team retains crown, shuts down Unit II, 3-0

Ridding high on sizzling spikes and pernicious blocks, Unit III Vanguards leaned on the powerhouse duo Desiree Jurado and Daniela Angeli Begonia to fend off army 25-13, 25-8, 25-16 and stay within striking distance against Unit II Red Warriors on the Women’s Volleyball Championship, Ilocos Sur Division Athletic Meet 224 at Caoayan Municipal Gymnasium, March 1.

Vanguards took a monumental record effort and dominance at the 3-set flawless sweep amidst the hard defense of the Red Warriors.

Unit III started off the game by throwing a series of booming spikes and tricky placings leaving them full court press. Like a roller coaster ride, the first set of the game was full of exchanging amazing blows from each team leaving the

crowd to hold back their breaths to exhilaration, 25-13.

Open spiker Jurado casted her blazing fast ball to which Unit II cannot tame. Unit II Red Warriors tried launching spikes to close the game but unfortunately, the combined Jurado and Borja continued to fire amazing kills and strong blocks ending the set set in favor of Unit III, 25-8.

Unit III kept their unbreakable blocks and annihilating spikes. Unable to block the dominance and avenge of the team, Unit II accepted their total loss in the final set, 25-16.

“We are happy because our hardwork paid off. We really gave so much sweat in this and thank God we retained our championship

crown,” Jurado said.

Basketball: Solo Liderato

Unit III, nagtala ng kasaysayan kontra Unit I, 84-
