Abruzzi is located on the first floor of the historic Jacoby’s Storehouse. Upon entering, it seems you have stepped back in time to an Italian speakeasy. The Chalet in Eureka was purchased by Vera Johnson March 1, 1975. The building was originally an ice cream parlor and only seated eight people. By 1981 the restaurant had expanded to nearly double its size, and became known for its hamburgers and soft serve ice cream. Over the years, with more remodeling and hard work, it has turned into the business that it is today.

The Chalet is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. It is known for having some of the finest o elettes in Hu boldt ounty. sing only the freshest ingredients available, the restaurant has won the Times Standard’s restaurant awards for “Best Breakfast” and “Best of the North Coast” many times over. It offers great food, excellent service, a warm, friendly atmosphere, and serves a complete breakfast and lunch menu all day.

The beautiful mahogany bar was built by Wallace and Hinz, local bar manufacturers. The columns on the bar mirror the detail on the front of the building and features from the old photograph.

Mexican Style Casual Dining Pachanga is locally owned and has been preparing Mexican food in Eureka since 1999. We use very little canned or pre-packaged food, and make both fresh flour tortillas and fresh corn tortillas every day in the front of our kitchen, where you are invited to watch.

When seasons permit we get many of our locally grown organic vegetables from local farmers. Our chile peppers and chile rellenos don’t come from a frozen box or a can. They are prepared using fresh chiles in our kitchen.

Pho Thiên Long has been voted 2015 & 2016 Best Asian Restaurant six times by the North Coast Journal readers in the Best of Humboldt awards. In their restaurant at 307 Fourth Street in Eureka, Pho Thiên Long continually strives to delight tastebuds on the North Coast with their extensive menu and delicious food. Pho (pronounced fuh) is a classic Vietnamese beef and rice noodle soup and there is an extensive Beef, Chicken and Seafood Noodle Soup menu. There’s also the Vermicelli Noodle “Bun” menu including grilled prawns, pork, chicken and beef, and a list of tasty egg rolls and spring rolls. Or try from the Rice Plate “Com” menu with 17 different combinations. Vietnamese-style sandwiches are available and made with in-house, fresh-baked bread. Just across the bridge from Eureka, the Samoa Cookhouse continues its tradition of serving lots of good food, lumber camp style! Despite its unusual name, the Stuft Potato Restaurant enjoys one of the best reputations between San Francisco and Oregon. It makes everything from scratch and in house, including their wonderful desserts. They started out with the vision of serving the best stuffed potatoes anywhere, calling upon their background of extensive experience and training preparing European cuisine, but it was the latter that they saw people respond to in a big way.

Ivonne Morgan, the owner and chef, has owned four other restaurants including the well-known Cafe Vienna in Sacramento. After retiring from Cafe Vienna she realized that retirement had come too early. Then a friend who lived in Eureka told her of a perfect little spot on E Street, and she and her son Joseph packed up and moved.

Their vision was to perfect the stuffed potato concept and franchise it. To offer a bit of variety, they also offered a different German dish each day.

Everybody wanted more and more German food, and so a different kind of restaurant developed. By then they had name recognition and could ill afford to change the name to something more in line with their new direction. After five years the restaurant outgrew its E Street location, and in oved to Broadway, where you’ll still find it today.

Our restaurant prides itself on using its own recipes, developed by our head chef and owner “Tornado” Dave. Dave has been in the restaurant business for over 35 years, and continues to deliver the best quality and best tasting dishes.

Tuyas is powered by incredible staff ready to serve you. Come for homemade Me ican cuisine with a conte porary twist, BI flavor, glasses of e citing Spanish wine, bottles of cold beer, vibrant art, and a deep sense of community rooted in friends and family. Blue corn and yellow corn tortillas and tortilla chips are handmade throughout the day and are whole grain and gluten-free. Flour tortillas are offered as well.
