LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Humber is located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Known as Adoobiigok, the “Place of the Alders” in Michi Saagiig language, the region is uniquely situated along the Humber River Watershed, which historically provided an integral connection for Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Wendat peoples between the Ontario Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe/Georgian Bay regions. Now home to people of numerous nations, Adoobiigok continues to provide a vital source of interconnection for all.

ARE YOU A TRANSFER STUDENT?

You are a transfer student if you have completed or partially completed a program at a college or university and wish to continue your studies. As a transfer student, you can follow one of three paths:

Transfer In

You want to transfer credits or credentials from another college or university or apply for credit based on prior work or life experience.

Transfer Within

You are a Humber student or graduate wanting to transfer credits or get advanced standing into another Humber program.

Transfer Out

You’re looking to advance your education beyond Humber with another credential. Humber has transfer agreements with many post-secondary institutions throughout Canada and abroad.

TRANSFER CREDITS

If you have completed a similar course at another recognized post-secondary institution, you may be eligible to receive transfer credits toward your selected Humber program. Use our step-bystep guides and online database to get you started.

PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT AND RECOGNITION (PLAR)

PLAR is designed to recognize relevant learning acquired through life and work experience and translate this learning into college credit.

EXPLORE PATHWAYS

Explore and compare your choices with our Explore Pathways Module.

We recognize the increasing demand for mobility between postsecondary programs. Humber offers you pathways into, within and out of Humber. Our Explore Pathways Module will allow you to learn more about a diverse range of inbound/outbound pathways, scholarships and more.

To learn more about all your transfer options, email a transfer advisor at transferoptions@humber.ca or visit humber.ca/transferoptions.

PUTTING THEORY INTO PRACTICE

Humber programs offer unique workintegrated learning (WIL) opportunities to prepare students for their future careers.

Students apply what they’ve learned in class and in real-world environments through a wide range of academic, community and industry partnerships. These work-integrated and experiential learning opportunities may include field placements, practicums, clinical placements, co-operative education work terms, internships, applied research projects or service learning. You can work with industry partners to help solve real-world problems or work with us to explore how to start your own business. Students may also volunteer on- and off-campus or even participate in global opportunities.

THE HUMBER HLO DIFFERENCE

Humber Learning Outcomes (HLOs) demonstrate our commitment to developing career-ready citizens. No matter which program you choose, you will graduate with the employability skills, mindsets and values that will benefit you throughout your career and your life. Embedded within each curriculum, you will have many opportunities to gain experience in these twelve attributes as a value-add to program-specific knowledge and skills. The symbols representing the HLOs have been derived from Humber's connection to the Humber River, its ecosystem and its rich Indigenous history.
