Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Human Rights Campaign, we are delighted to welcome you to the 2025 San Francisco Bay Area Dinner! It is truly an honor to have you here with us tonight as we come together in support of equality, inclusion, and justice for the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you are a long-time advocate or joining us for the first time, your presence and dedication are helping drive meaningful change in our communities, our country, and beyond.
The work of HRC has never been more urgent. Across this nation, we’ve seen fear dressed up as policy and prejudice parading as principle. But the story of our community has never been written by fear. It has been written by courage … by people who stood up, spoke out, and refused to turn back.
And that’s why we gather at this event. Not to dwell on what divides us, but to remember what connects us: the belief that every person deserves to live openly, love freely, and walk through this world without fear.
San Francisco and the Bay Area have long been a beacon of hope and activism, standing at the forefront of the movement for civil rights. It’s also fitting that we meet during this time of year: a season that transcends any single faith or tradition. As the days grow shorter and the nights stretch longer, we feel the pull of darkness. And yet, across cultures and centuries, humanity has always answered that darkness in the same way: with light.
During the holiday season, we often light candles, build fires, and open our homes to one another. It reminds us all that light can outlast even the longest night. Let this evening be about that light and about the people who carry it.
This evening, we celebrate the incredible work of the Human Rights Campaign, whose efforts continue to shape the national conversation around LGBTQ+ equality. We also honor those who have made significant contributions to this movement—our trailblazing honorees, our generous sponsors, and you, our attendees, who fuel this movement with your passion and generosity.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to equality. We hope you leave tonight inspired, energized, and ready to take bold action. Together, we will continue to build a world where love always triumphs over hate, and where every person, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can live their truth freely and proudly.
Sincerely,
2025 HRC SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA CHAIRS
