FIRST NATIONS ENGAGEMENT POLICY 1. PURPOSE Hulk Heavy Diesel (“Hulk”) is committed to reducing the profound gap that exists between First Nation people and non-indigenous Australians. This Policy has been developed to empower Hulk as an industry leader that has actively participated in reducing that gap.

2. POLICY The First Nations Engagement Policy recognises the potential for the development of relationships and partnerships between Hulk and our First Nations people, community and organisations.

Hulk’s commitment, at all times, is to: 1. Work in partnership with First Nations people, communities, and organisations to foster strong relationship through partnership and friendship.

2. Be guided by the Indigenous Employment Index to develop practical, evidence based strategies that promote sustainable employment opportunities.

3. Develop employment targets and record & report on their progress.

4. Actively advertise, recruit & develop First Nations people for employment opportunities as a strategy to progress towards employment parity.

5. Develop strategies to retain existing First Nations employees.

6. Treat racism as a safety issue and work to ensure all workplaces are culturally safe for Indigenous personnel.

7. Respect Indigenous cultural rights, values and beliefs including the deep connections that exist with the land, waters, and communities.

8. Ensure that culturally appropriate practises endorsed by First Nation elders are established at all levels of our business.

9. Support Indigenous Cultural awareness through education and decision making to ensure the integrity of this policy is maintained.

10. Teach our people about First Nation culture and identity by embedding these learnings into the day-to-day operation of the business.

11. Maintain Supply Nation Certification and continued to be recognised as a verified First Nation owned business.

Our commitment to the First Nation people of Australia Hulk’s senior leadership team are committed to reducing the profound gap that exists between First Nation people and non-indigenous Australians. We will do this by prioritising the recruitment of First Nations people and developing strong relationships with these communities. We will also teach our people about Aboriginal culture and identity by embedding these learnings into the day-to-day operation of the business.

The artwork represented in this documents watermark is Eddie Mabo. Often referred to as the Mabo Decision, Eddie Mabo was the man that led the legal fight which saw the landmark decision acknowledging the traditional rights of Indigenous people as Native Title. It also rendered ‘terra nullius’ (meaning nobody’s land) as legal fiction, altering the foundation of Australian land law. The watermark is an impression of Eddie Mabo drawn in 1982. It shows determination and strength.
