Greetings! It is with great Oriole Pride that I write and celebrate all that we have accomplished together, and with a strong sense of hope, I look forward with excitement to the many events HUHS will host this Spring as we continue to move towards the finish line of this most unprecedented school year. On April 13, 2021, HUHS held their first musical performance since February 2020, and for me, and many of those in attendance, it felt like we had returned, and we thank our fine music staff and young musicians for the opportunity to have music back in our lives. Towards the end of the performance, choir director Mr. Brusubardis shared a message and encouraged all of us to find a way to be superspreaders of peace, joy, confidence, and positivity. Despite the many challenges we have faced in the past 14 months, I am proud of the many great things happening in our district and look forward to the work that lies ahead. Our team is working on an opportunity to celebrate the many improvements made to our campus, and are planning a community celebration and open house for August to show you why we are so excited about how we are transforming our spaces on campus. Thank you for your patience, support, and partnering in the education of our fine young adults that call HUHS home.

Outdoor Facilities Proposal Gib Mahr Field - Convert to a soccer only complex with artificial turf. Add youth options which will allow community use and tournament hosting.
Lincoln Athletic Field Softball Complex - Transition to dual purpose softball and baseball fields for versitility. All turf, additional scoreboards, bleachers, back stops, dugouts, pressbox, and storage.
Tennis Complex - Additional tennis complex for tournament hosting and practice.
Proposed land/facility purchase from the School District of Hartford Jt. #1. The School District of Hartford Jt. #1 which consists of Central Middle School, Lincoln Elementary School, and Rossman Elementary School, owns Gib Mahr Field, Lincoln Athletic Field Softball Complex, and the tennis complex located on W. Monroe Ave. The Hartford Union High School District is proposing to purchase Gib Mahr Field, Lincoln Athletic Field Softball Complex, and the tennis complex from The School District of Hartford Jt. #1 before any renovations begin.

Rendering depicts the West side (or back) of Hartford Union High School. A. Baseball Field - Improve drainage, add press box, bleachers, dugouts, scoreboard, and a backstop. B. Home Bleachers/Press Box/Storage. Home bleachers that will seat 1,500 fans and larger home press box. Additional storage underneath for equipment. C. Entrance - A new entrance to the outdoor facilities would be created as a result of athletic improvements in the back of the building. A donor recognition wall would be located near this entrance. D1. Field Events - Shot put and discus - relocation to an area further away from other activities for safety. D2. Field Events - Long jump, triple jump, and pole vault relocated for additional space and proximity to storage facility. E. Football/Track Complex - Football field relocated to the back of the building and upgraded to a turf field. Installation of new track surface.

Parking lot - Additional parking lot to alleviate street parking burden and adds an emergency vehicle access. H. College: UW Milwaukee Criminal Justice B.S., Marian University Organizational Leadership M.S. Employment: Waukesha County Sheriff for 24 years. Current rank: Inspector, oversight of 375 employees and 44 million dollar budget. Family: Married to Joy for 20 years, and have two boys, Mason (16) and Brody (13), and we reside in Richfield. Hobbies: Snowmobiling and Boating Reason I ran for the School Board: A desire to use my experience and skills to positively contribute to the future of the school and the community. I believe children need a safe environment to learn and grow. I believe in investments in well rounded and educationally diverse opportunities. A commitment to academics, technical trades, sciences, athletics, and the arts offer the best opportunity for our children to achieve the success we all want for them. I care deeply about future opportunities for our children and our community. Unique Contributions I bring to the Board: I will bring a stringent commitment to transparency.
College: Moraine Park Technical College. Employment: City of Hartford (Electric Department) 20 years this May. Family: I have been married for 19 years to my wife Stephanie and we have two children, Courtney, a junior at HUHS and Ethan a 7th grader at Erin. Hobbies: Watching sports, Hunting, Fishing, and Playing Golf. Reason I ran for the School Board: First and foremost to make sure the High School continues in the direction it’s heading. Secondly, for the students, I want to give each and every student the BEST possible education and make sure they have every opportunity to continue their education at either a college, tech school, or in the trades. In my opinion, average is ok, but you want to strive to be the BEST! Unique Contributions I bring to the Board: I have 20 years of a trades background and a willingness to listen to all and be able to think and make decisions on my own without outside pressures.
Meet The New HUHS Principal, Kelly Lam Kelly comes to HUHS from Brown Deer Middle/High School as their Assistant Principal where she is also a member of the School Improvement Plan Team, Data Team, Equity Team, District Leadership Team, and Academic and Career Planning Committee. Kelly’s career in education began in the Hamilton School District as a high school math teacher. Additionally, she has been an Athletic Director and Math Specialist for Lake Shore Middle School in the MequonThiensville School District. Kelly earned a Master of Education degree and her principal license from Viterbo University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marquette University with a double major in accounting and finance.
Kelly earned her teaching certification from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Kelly’s college extra-curricular activities involved playing Division 1 collegiate basketball and is interested in being involved with HUHS cocurricular activities. Kelly’s other hobbies include traveling, spending time with her family, and cheering on the Packers, Bucks, and Marquette sports teams. “From the interview process, it is clear the pride students, parents, and staff have for HUHS is immeasurable and I look forward to collaborating with everyone. I am excited to be part of the Hartford family and for the opportunity to be the Principal at HUHS!” said Kelly Lam.
Career, College, & Citizenship Readiness Preparing our students for post-secondary education along with preparation for the workplace, is a high priority for HUHS. Through our Jumpstart to Success College, Career, & Citizenship Readiness (CCCR) experiential opportunities, students gain the skill along with meeting our CCCR graduation requirements. Included below are the graduation requirements for CCCR. 1 plus 4 - Every student must choose 1 experience from both CAREER & COLLEGE, and 4 additional experiences from either or a combination of the two areas.
