Celebrate An Old Fashion 4th of July

The relaxing atmosphere of Spanish Peaks Country makes it an ideal setting for a good old fashion 4th of July.

If you're a real go-getter, start your weekend at 8:00 a.m. on Friday with a fun-run at the Village of Cuchara, followed by the Parade. The town is pretty much 'rockin' all day long so get giddy, grab a bite at the Dog Bar, sit on the deck with a brew and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

If you are a serious shopper, head over to Walsenburg for a one-ofa-kind antique shopping experience...

La Veta's Art in the Park has been the main event of the July 4th weekend for many years. This two-day event begins Saturday morning and runs through Sunday afternoon. During this time you will find the Town Park packed with handmade arts, crafts, jewelry, apparel, paintings, ceramics, glass, wood items, live music and food venders.

Both Friday & Saturday evening, La Veta will be hosting the 4-H Independence Day Ranch Rodeo & Bull Riding event. Have you seen a real western rodeo?
