Responsible and sustainable. In our own manufacturing we use only sustainable materials. Our strong supply chain partnerships mean we can demand the same sustainability of everything else we source and specify. But beyond the products themselves, we also use biomass generators and carbon neutral boilers. Our major manufacturing plant even burns its own cut-offs to heat the factory. We are also FSC® certified. Handling logistics and distribution in-house means we can cut our carbon footprint even further, and we carry through our commitment to sustainable working by blanket-wrapping furniture for delivery, instead of wasting single-use packing materials. As part of our managed services agreements, we also promote recycling and re-manufacturing. To first prolong the life of our products and then make sure as much of them as possible are reused.

HTM63. At Southernsbroadstock we offer a complete range of fitted HTM63 elements that complement our extensive laboratory furniture collection. We provide comprehensive furniture options for these critical areas with all designs meeting the requirements of the HTM (Health Technical Memorandum).

High quality materials. The design of HTM63 was created by the Department of Health specifically for hospitals, clinics and key medical environments, including GP surgeries. We understand the needs of these busy and demanding medical buildings and feature high specification product to deliver a creative and refined workplace.
Fitted furniture.
Our key focus is to produce exceptional products. High quality materials, fittings and laminated finishes as standard form part of our daily production regime. All carcasses are produced in MFMDF (Melaminefaced MDF) and all drawers comprise of steel sided construction with a solid 18mm MFMDF base, finished with HPL laminated door and drawer fronts.
Strength in design. Strength in design and crucially componentry are essential to produce HTM63 product. Quality hinges, steel shelving supports and a range of hardwearing handle finishes are at the core of the fantastic range of product from Southernsbroadstock.
270° hinges. Throughout the working day, healthcare professionals will always need to have tools and supplies close at hand. We supply framework compliant cabinetry with 270° hinges that offer unhindered access to any stored equipment.

HTM64. In line with NHS Estate guidelines on sanitary assemblies, Southernsbroadstock provide a full collection of sinks and medical taps for both fitted cabinetry and integrated panel systems (IPS).

The guidelines of HTM64 must be adhered to in all new build and refurbished properties in the healthcare sector. Specifically, HTM64 is directed at sanitary assemblies. This includes toilets, urinals, sinks and showers - anything that is connected to both mains water and waste drainage. The main focus of HTM64 is washbasins and taps.
In healthcare settings for example, vitreous china washbasins must have a waste outlet situated on the back wall of the sink, as opposed to the base of the bowl. The tap must also be wall-mounted and be either lever or sensor operated. Wallmounted sensor taps have become one of the most popular options in the UK as they don’t need to be physically touched to operate them, a huge advantage in clinical settings.

Hospital beds. We supply Sidhil’s advanced, electrically operated profiling beds: a range of flexible and adjustable high, low and static beds developed by Drive DeVilbiss Sidhil and manufactured in the UK. These beds are developed for the acute environment and designed around optimising tissue viability, infection control and health and safety in terms of manual handling and falls prevention. Our hospital beds are produced to stringent UK and European standards.
Key features. Redesigned handset controls using a graphic interface ensure that electric profiling beds can be positioned quickly and accurately in line with nursing procedures. Handsets also feature ‘lock out’ functions to enable safe use by patients. From simple gel cushions to advanced fully automatic dynamic therapy systems and all points in between, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare offers a comprehensive choice of pressure relieving mattresses to suit all environments and clinical requirements. With the focus on achieving optimum levels of patient care, comfort and safety, we have an extended range of dynamic, static and hybrid pressure area care mattresses for the acute, community, nursing and residential care markets.

Developed in line with current nursing procedures, the company’s dynamic therapy medical mattress systems deliver high to very high-pressure care risk management. The hospital mattress product range includes the Artemis, a fully automatic dynamic air cell mattress offering a choice of therapies including alternating, pulsation and constant low pressure for underweight/paediatric patients, up to and including Grade IV pressure ulcers.
Southernsbroadstock Healthcare provides an extensive range of static mattresses using castellated foam which shapes and forms to ensure optimum comfort and support as well as achieving good levels of pressure reduction over periods of time, making an important contribution to reducing the incidence of pressure sores. Zonal areas have now been introduced to the company’s upgraded range of Premium and Standard support surfaces, designed around providing additional pressure relief for vulnerable areas including heel and sacral sections. The range includes bariatric mattress options suitable for patients weighing up to 320kgs (50 stone).
The hybrid mattresses. Hybrid options include the Hybrid-Power, which successfully brings together the pressure redistribution properties of high specification foam with all the benefits of dynamic alternating pressure relief. Alongside high specification visco elastic foam which conforms to the shape of the body, the Hybrid-Power features alternating dynamic air cells and a reliable pump unit for optimum performance. There is no need to move the patient from the bed when ‘stepping up’ to dynamic alternating mode or ‘stepping down’ to static mode. The Hybrid-Air is a non-powered support surface, using a combination of foam and air cells operating on the principle of air displacement. When a person repositions his or her weight on the Hybrid-Air, air moves within the mattress to surrounding cells for optimal pressure redistribution.
Seat cushions. Southernsbroadstock Healthcare also offers a comprehensive selection of seat cushions and support systems from dynamic therapy options to gel cushions engineered for performance and price.

Ward.
We have selected Sidhil beds as they have the flexibility to cater for a wide range of patient groups in all wards, resulting in reduced requirements for transfer from bed to bed. Many beds are height adjustable and able to descend extremely low to minimise the risk of falls, particularly for elderly and infirm patients in line with NHS falls prevention strategies. A full range of side rail options is available to match requirements and safety specifications.
Treatment beds. In partnership with Drive DeVilbiss Sidhil, we pride ourselves on the quality of our service and maintenance back-up, providing fast and reliable access to a comprehensive choice of service options ranging from full scale bed facility management contracts through to repairs to our own and other manufacturers’ products.

Service and maintenance. Operating via a nationwide network of service centres, staffed by specialist engineers and fully equipped with extensive spares stocks, we offer an immediate response. With workplaces continuing to adopt open-plan layouts, it has never been more important to place an emphasis on the health of staff. Illnesses can quickly spread in an environment with fewer physical boundaries between people, and in recent years, it has become increasingly evident that greater measures are needed to safeguard employee wellbeing. Workplace absenteeism not only reduces productivity, it can also lower morale and if left unchecked can lead to substantial time and budgetary losses.
Why Vetrospace? In response to this need, the Vetrospace pod was developed, a modular space that allows collaborative working within a healthy, self-cleaning environment. Using innovative technology and smart air filtration, bacteria and viruses are continuously removed and destroyed from the pod to reduce the impact of illness in the workplace. The lighting in the Vetrospace is non-ionising and completely safe for use, offering ongoing disinfection around the clock.
Offering an unparalleled level of clean air, the integrated filtration system in the Vetrospace pod eliminates airborne allergens, bacteria and viruses in under 6 minutes. It uses double filtration so occupants only breathe in air that is completely free from contaminants. This provides a two-in-one benefit of minimising staff sick leave, whilst also promoting better health and performance in the workplace.
Boosting the efficiency of its disinfection system, a transparent nano-coating on the surfaces of the Vetrospace works with the light to decontaminate frequently touched hot-spots. This prevents the spread of workplace illnesses and the transferral of viruses and bacteria to other surfaces.

Leading performance products from Shieldplus by Panaz antimicrobial technology
Key detail
Shieldplus antimicrobial technologies are fast acting, safe and durable against a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses. It provides a nanotechnologybased protection that acts on the physical structure of a bacteria or virus by piercing the cell wall. The non-migrating treatment attracts, pierces, deactivates and electrocutes the biochemicals within each microbe on contact. This includes the Coronavirus.
Shieldplus is applied to fabric during manufacture. The process creates a covalent bond that fixes the antimicrobial into the fabric permanently giving the long-lasting protection required for a high traffic environment. Shieldplus provides the highest level of protection, shielding against microbes such as Coronavirus, MRSA, C-diff Spore and Norovirus.

Shieldplus topical solutions use our non-migrating technology to provide a safe and effective antimicrobial protection for use on surfaces and laundry. These products are tried and tested to provide a long-lasting antimicrobial solution in hospitality, healthcare and workspace environments.

A light spray offers long-term protection, as well as added stain resist properties, that is effective for up to 90 days.

Camira’s treated, waterproof fabrics are engineered to be the very best a fabric can be in terms of performance. They offer excellent durability, especially when stubborn stains are spot cleaned, and offer utmost convenience when blended with vinyl. Done well, mixing in a vinyl can enhance the look of a chair rather than detract from its visual appeal. Our treated fabrics are designed and manufactured to work beautifully together on furniture.
At Southernsbroadstock working with our key fabric partners, we believe institutions shouldn’t look institutional and public spaces in any environment should inspire the people they serve. Fabric design is one of the easiest ways to introduce pattern and colour into interiors. Our selected products are crafted with combinations in mind. Wipe and go. Sometimes the most successful design choices are born out of constraints. When ‘wipe and go’ is an essential element of the specification and even treated fabrics are a ‘no go’, combining vinyls can still create an interesting and design led environment. Vita, our leather-look vinyl, provides a perfect solution when a clear sense of design is required, with a subtle surface grain effect and full matt appearance.
As well as being waterproof, stain repellent, flame retardant and anti-microbial, using tighter weaves creates flatter surfaces that are more easily cleaned. Recycled yarn from our own manufacturing waste, dyed to black, helps to conceal stains while adding a textural dimension. Waterproof fabrics and vinyls are highly resilient, low maintenance but never compromise on aesthetics.
JET BIOACTIVE from Jet bioactive contains a silver-based antimicrobial element, combined with the usual Trevira CS flame retardant property. Silver ions in the yarn inhibit the growth of bacteria in or on the fabric without the need of an additional finishing agent or back coating, making it friendly on the skin and environment, as well as being acoustically transparent and easier to upholster. Jet bioactive has the same soft wool-like touch offered by the standard Jet range. One of our key partners, Fidivi, produces 55% of their own energy via photovoltaic solar panels, and utilises hydroelectric power for another 20%, meaning 75% of energy used at their manufacturing plant derives from renewable energy sources. All of our fabrics are certified to the Standard 100 label by Oeko-tex®, which is one of the world’s leading tests for harmful substances in textiles. The test takes into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, that have the potential to be harmful to human health. With this certification you can be certain that the fabrics are nontoxic and harmless to individuals. A vast selection of our fabric ranges have been awarded the EU Ecolabel. The EU Ecolabel is only awarded when the product’s life-cycle is among the best in the market for the particular product category. Based on environmental and functional performance, the main criteria for the award is based on 3 key areas of environmental requirements: 1. Types of fibre used 2. Processes and chemicals 3. Fit for purpose of finished product.
