Data security We take data security extremely seriously. A core element of our offering is our use of GDPR compliant, certified data erasure software to permanently delete all data from your devices before they are repaired or recycled. BlackBelt Defence (HMG Infosec Standard and tested by ADISA ADPC0074) is the software used for mobile devices data wiping. Devices we receive which do not turn on or arrive to us beyond economic repair will be stored in a locked cage/container to ensure full security whilst in our custody. Periodically, devices are then sent for recycling using satellite tracked vehicles and BPSS checked drivers to the Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) run by Computer Disposals Limited (CDL). All devices are destroyed at their facility using a Untha RS40 shredder and fully compliant with ADISA regulations for secure destruction of data (ISO 27001:2013 Information Security Management Standard) for mobile devices. We are extremely confident in this methodology across the various types of mobile data-bearing assets we receive. As such Reconome does not retain ANY customer data on physical ICT devices. The only data that is retained by Reconome are the basic customer details, such as where, when and from whom we received the devices.
