international tourism resumes, especially in Hua Hin. This goal emphasizes we need to move forward on quality, not quantity.

“It's possible for us to turn to ‘high value-low impact tourism’ with fewer tourists but still maintaining 50% of pre-Covid revenue”, Mr Krod said.

“Even though this path will not be easy, this is the right direction for our natural resources that were overly exploited in the past”.

Mr Krod also spoke of the importance regarding training and human resources so people working in the industry can have the necessary skills needed.

o set Thailand on its way to achieving its goal for ‘quality over quantity’ tourism, the government has set a Tourism Revenue target for both domestic and overseas travelers of gaining 50 percent of 2019's revenue in 2022, while targeting 7-10 million overseas tourists with average spending THB70,000 – 80,000/tourist/trip. The total revenue from inbound tourism in 2022 aims at THB 650,000 million.

But reaching this target will not be plain sailing, said Mr Krod who is also a consultant to the President for Chiva-Som International Health Resort in Hua Hin. “The country might have some established products like medical and wellness tourism which are regarded as one of the key pillars of quality tourism, but in my view as president of Thai Spa Association and having been in the wellness industry for over 10 years, the country may need a lot more effort and has a long way to go before achieving this target,” he said.

Despite the challenges, Mr Krod believes Hua Hin’s wellness facilities, its proximity to Bangkok and the fact it has its own airport, which is expected to welcome dozens of new flights over the coming years, means it has the potential to become Thailand’s wellness hub.

However, it needs a much more multifaceted approach which should also emphasize sustainability, human resources and training and development in the local infrastructure.

“In my opinion, sustainability and wellness development needs collaboration from tourism entrepreneurs and also importantly, support from the government.

“It should not only be business and private sectors who benefit from Hua Hin as a wellness destination but also local residents and the community”, Mr Krod said.

“This must be agreed at a national level and rolled out to the provincial development plan. Hua Hin tourism entrepreneurs and offices must unite and show the potential and commitment in sustainability practices, human resource training in wellness services, community wellness, environmental wellness and infrastructure development”, he added.

“We must unite, envision the big picture and work on the same page.”

A ROUND UP OF THE MEASURES EASED FROM JUNE 1

Nightlife resumes in Hua Hin and throughout Prachuap Khiri Khan

From June 1, Thai nationals returning to Thailand will no longer have to register using the Thailand Pass system.

In a move welcomed by business owners and patrons alike, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration recently announced the reopening of nightlife venues.

Foreigners will still be required to use Thailand Pass.

However, they will only need to submit passport details, proof of vaccination and proof of US$10,000 health insurance policy.

As of June 1, pubs, bars, karaoke bars, massage parlours and other nightspots in 31 provinces, including Prachuap Khiri Khan, will be able to reopen.

However, they will still be required to close at midnight and other disease control measures also remain in place.

Previously, some night time venues had been allowed to open provided they changed their operations to that of a restaurant.

But now, bars and pubs can go back to being bars and pubs.

The gradual reopening of nightlife entertainment venues marks an end of some of the toughest and longest running COVID-19 restrictions in Thailand.

In a further relaxation of measures, the CCSA also announced that Prachuap Khiri Khan would be classified as a ‘blue zone’ province.

Previously only Hua Hin and Nong Khae districts were blue zones, which meant that only restaurants located in the aforementioned districts were allowed to serve alcohol.

With all of Prachuap Khiri Khan now classified as a blue zone, it means that venues located in any of the province’s eight districts will also be able to serve alcohol.

Thailand Pass update This month will also see an update of the registration system put in place for people entering Thailand.

There will then no longer be a waiting period, with the system automatically issuing a Thailand Pass QR code for applicants.

Also from June 1, unvaccinated travelers to Thailand will no longer need to quarantine. Instead, they will need to show a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test within 72 hours before departure via the Thailand Pass system.

Alternatively, they can take a test on arrival.

An end to mask wearing?

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has said the mandate to wear a face mask when out in public could be lifted as early as the middle of June.

The MOPH said that people living in designated zones - namely blue and green zones - would include Prachuap Khiri Khan and Phetchaburi.

However, people in high risk groups, such as the over 60s, those with underlying health conditions and pregnant women may be required to wear masks in certain areas for their own safety.

The consideration to easing the mask mandate comes after permanent secretary of the Public Health Ministry, Dr Kiattiphum Wongrajit said the Covid-19 situation in the country has improved faster than expected, so the pandemic might be downgraded to an endemic disease as planned.

THERE’S A NEW GENERATION OF TOURISTS VISITING HUA HIN FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS

E

arlier this year Thailand announced plans to lure more foreign tourists by aiming to establish itself as a leading destination for medical and wellness tourism.

Promoting itself as a medical tourism hub is one of the key drivers of Thailand’s tourism industry in the post COVID-19 era.

Hua Hin and Cha Am will be among the first locations in Thailand to be promoted as destinations for medical and wellness tourism.

If the plans prove successful, it could be a major boon for Thailand, and also Hua Hin and Cha Am in particular.

A recent estimate by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) stated that wellness tourists spend on average more than double the amount of money spent than other tourists.

It will also see health and wellness services and facilities in the region upgraded to meet international standard requirements.

But while the pandemic brought health and wellness to the fore for many, it’s far from being an emerging trend, particularly among travelers to Hua Hin. “The pandemic immensely changed the customer behaviours and profiles but it is not unexpected,” Mr. Vaipanya Kongkwanyuen, Chiva-Som General Manager told Hua Hin Today.

“Even before the COVID-19, wellness and ecotourism tourism had been the key trends. The pandemic just multiplied the demand and expanded the ‘wellness’ onto other businesses”.

“This situation leads a new generation who are more aware of personal care, health conditions and alert on the benefits of preventive wellness,” Mr. Vaipanya added.

“Previously, people thought wellness was for senior people or habitation.

Nowadays, they understand that wellness is relevant to daily life.

“Chiva-Som always says that wellness is a lifetime journey that must be customised and sustained in daily life. We also believe that wellness is for everyone and should start from an early age.

“I can see new faces of younger guests starting their wellness journey with us and continuing their visits.

Our repeat guests take their younger family to learn the wellness practice.

“Meanwhile, we keep developing our service to match up with technology, and latest trends. We never stop training and upgrading of education for the staff and wellness therapists, we stay informed on the latest changes and incorporate the trends that best fit our core philosophy.”

“In results, we offer innovation and new treatments to meet both regular guests, new guests and younger generations who are looking for holistic wellness and inspiration of living well.”

Like many businesses in the hospitality industry, Chiva-Som was driven to adapt to changing trends during the pandemic.

While guests at Chiva-Som were predominantly foreigners pre-pandemic, the resort has seen an increase among domestic guests.

Pre-pandemic the average length of stay for guests at Chiva-Som was seven days, Mr. Vaipanya revealed. The longest period a guest stayed at Chiva-Som was nine months.

However, during the COVID-19 years when the customer group shifted to the domestic market, the average length of stay was 3.5 nights or sometimes longer depending on the wellness goals of the individual guest. This is very good feedback for domestic guests.

“Before the pandemic the top five nationalities of our guests were British, Russian, Australian, German, and European as a region”, Mr. Vaipanya said.

“However, during the pandemic years, wellness tourism gained some interest among domestic travellers, so we welcomed more Thai guests who were looking for a world-class wellness resort locally to support their wellbeing or to start off their wellness lifestyle. Many of them became our regular guests and members”.

EVENT HUB HUA HIN AIRPORT PLANS TO TAKE OFF WITH A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL EVENT LIFESTYLE HUB

Marc says that different artists and events are eagerly waiting to happen at the Airport, considering the many interests we receive from partners holding events at Event Hub Hua Hin Airport.

The outdoor space at the Airport, earmarked for holding festivals and significant events, counts two squares; the first square behind the terminal is the Concert Square. Another square is the Activation Square. Each is 10,000 sqm in size and can hold up to 20,000 people. The event hub team can help organize the event from beginning to end, or you can rent the event space from Event Hub Hua Hin Airport and make the event yourself.

Event Hub will be responsible for third-party event space rental, besides operating the event spaces for MICE, ticketed events and weddings.

he upgrade to Hua Hin Airport will dramatically improve general aviation services and have a broader benefit to people living and visiting Hua Hin, which is crucial for the local economy.

The improvements will see the previously underutilized Airport be transformed into a truly international travel hub, offering a more comprehensive range of travel options to the area’s residents and increasing the region’s tourism potential.

Flights will be available to and from destinations within a five to a six-hour radius, such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, and the Middle East.

An increase in flights means that one million passengers will arrive at Hua Hin Airport within three years.

Recent months have seen improvements being carried out on the runway, which has been expanded to accommodate larger aircraft.

But in addition to the infrastructure improvements, other exciting developments are also taking place at the Airport.

Among those exciting plans includes the launch of the first Event Hub at Hua Hin Airport which will create a multi-functional event space for business fairs, exhibitions, and consumer and ticketed concerts and events.

The plans go beyond traditional function rooms hosting business meetings, although the available space can accommodate such events as incentives, conferences, team building and weddings. Hotels can use the airport space to extend internal events operations when needed.

The annual event calendar will see the airport host an array of events held in the terminal building,

hangars, and squares, some of which are unlikely to have ever been hosted at an airport, not only in Thailand but elsewhere.

The company behind the Event Hub is the Bangkok based multi-award-winning events and entertainment agency, media, ticketing and venue management company, B-Concept Media Entertainment Group.

Via its Event Hub brand, the company will create from Hua Hin Airport a vibrant lifestyle, travel and events destination in its own right.

In its 17th year of operating, B-Concept manages roughly 450 events in Thailand and Asia yearly and recently announced partnerships with the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya and Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok to provide meeting and event solutions. A new curated music distribution service for venues with more than 58 million songs in its catalogue, ideal for hotels, retail, hospitals and golf clubs that like to enrich the experience is under launch.

“In the first year, we plan to build up awareness and host vibrant events at the weekends in the terminal building with brand partners, vendors, food and beverage and merchandise on sale”, according to Marc Van den Sanden, Director of Events at B-Concept Media Entertainment Group, told Hua Hin Today.

“As Thailand recovers, we will increase the number of events to Hua Hin. Who will come and perform on stage will be announced later, but it is worth waiting for”, Marc said.

Marc explained that the Event Hub at Hua Hin Airport plans to become the central Hub for Hua Hin, Petchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan citizens and

“We can fly in attendees a few days before the event starts. When travellers stay in the hotels these days, they can attend other events in town.

We help promote these events through the media and global distribution channels so that the whole community in Hua Hin can profit from people arriving in Hua Hin. We help in this way to build awareness for Hua Hin and the Thailand Riviera”, Marc said.

“But there are more plans on the table, and we work hard with our partners, teams and investors to prepare for this launch”, Marc said.

“An exciting calendar of business and smaller events have been prepared for the Event Hangar I, while other events will start to take off at Event Hangar II. Each hangar is 1,200 sqm”.

Marc says the apparent challenge with planning events at the Airport has been COVID-19 with continuous rescheduling tours and bookings.

However, with the current situation improving, the Event Hub at Hua Hin Airport can hopefully soon take flight.

ENERGY OBSERVER DOCKS NEAR HUA HIN TO SHOWCASE ZERO EMISSIONS AND CLEAN TECHNOLOGY

T

he first boat to be powered solely by renewable energies and hydrogen stopped near Hua Hin as part of a world tour to raise awareness about clean energy.

The Energy Observer, a 30.5 metre catamaran, docked at the Race Marina in Pak Nam Pran on April 30 as part of an almost month-long stay in the kingdom, which also included a trip to Pattaya where it was visited by Thierry Mathou, the French Ambassador to Thailand.

Prior to arriving in Thailand it had been in Singapore, the 70th stop on its voyage.

The vessel was open to the public on May 1-2 before it is set to play host to a number of official engagements prior to it departing the region for Koh Samui on May 19.

The Energy Observer is a vessel like no other. It’s half floating laboratory, half clean energy advocate.

Since setting sail from the French port city of Saint-Malo in Brittany in 2017, it has navigated more than 40,000 nautical miles using only renewable energy.

The Energy Observatory is completely selfsustaining. It doesn’t use diesel, generates all the energy it needs on board and produces zero emissions.

In order to try and prevent rising emissions from the maritime industry, Energy Observer is helping to demonstrate what green technologies can be used now and in the near future for sea travel.

The vessel is covered with solar panels, has two tall wings for propulsion and is powered by sun, wind and hydro-kinetic energy.

It creates its own hydrogen fuel from seawater as it sails along at speeds of up to 7 knots.

Salt and minerals are removed from the seawater before it is passed through an electroliser which splits the water into its elements: oxygen and hydrogen.

The oxygen is released but the hydrogen is compressed and stored in fuel cells or batteries that are located on either side of the Energy Observer.

Hydrogen power is used when wind or solar power can not be relied upon.

“The hydrogen power created by the Energy Observer is the equivalent of two megawatts of energy, which would be enough to power a couple of houses for a year,” captain Jean-Baptiste Sanchez told Hua Hin Today.

Data gathered from voyage is being used in the research and development of hydrogen fuel cell technology for the maritime industry.

In its former life - before it was renovated with clean technology - the Energy Observer was originally named Formule Tag and was a champion racing sailboat. It was the first vessel of its kind to break the coveted 500 miles limit in 24 hours in 1984.

“Its past is that of a champion, and now it is a champion of sustainability and clean technology,” crew member and digital manager Anaïs Toro-Engel told Hua Hin Today.

Inside the Energy Observer it is surprisingly spacious. Each cabin is of a good size and there is also a roomy seating and dining area, as well as a fully stocked kitchen complete with all mod-cons, including a dishwasher.

After departing Thailand, the Energy Observer will sail to Vietnam and Singapore before heading onto India.

The vessel is then scheduled to visit Africa and South America before ending its epic voyage back in its native France in the summer of 2024.

NEW HUA HIN TRAIN STATION WILL BE THE FIRST ELEVATED TRAIN STATION IN THAILAND In Hua Hin, arguably the most visible part of the project concerns the construction of the new train station which will accommodate the dual track train line.

T

he dual track train line, which will herald a new era of rail travel between Bangkok, Hua Hin and the south of Thailand is on track for completion.

The Department of Rail Transport (DRT) has said the construction of the Southern Line, which will connect Nakhon Pathom with Chumphon over a distance of 421 kilometers, is now 92 percent complete.

The new train station is located next to Hua Hin’s existing and iconic train station and will maintain much of the design elements of the original station, which is set to be transformed into a museum once the new station is open.

According to the Department of Rail Transport the new Hua Hin train station will be the first elevated train station in Thailand to also include a walkway and pedestrian area underneath.

Currently, construction of the new train station is 80 percent complete and is expected to be finished by the end of 2022.

The new station is set to continue Hua Hin’s rich history of being at the forefront of train travel in Thailand.

The new station retains the Victorian inspired architecture and colour scheme of the original station.

Hua Hin’s original train station is one of the oldest and most iconic train stations in the country.

The new Hua Hin train station will form part of the 4km elevated, which starts close to Soi 68 and continues towards Soi 102, heading south out of Hua Hin.

Built in 1910 and then rebuilt in 1926, it’s unique architecture makes it instantly recognisable.

SECTION OF HUA HIN DUAL TRACK RAIL LINE NOW 99% COMPLETE, SET TO OPEN IN 2023

T

he construction of a major section of the new dual track rail in Hua Hin is now more than 99 percent complete, the Department of Rail Transport (DRT) has announced.

According to Dr.Pichet Kunadhamraks, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Railway Transport, the 84 kilometre stretch of the rail line that connects Hua Hin with Prachuap Khiri Khan is now 99.870 percent complete.

The section of the track in Hua Hin forms part of the line that will eventually connect Nakhon Pathom with Chumpon, a distance of 421 kilometers.

In and around Hua Hin, the construction of the rail line is part of the Southern Railway Construction Project and is separated into three different stages.

The first stage is from Nakhon Pathom - Hua Hin, the construction of which is divided across two projects: Nakhon Pathom - Nong Pla Lai, which is a distance of 93 kilometres and which the DRT says is now 97.087% complete.

The second project of the first stage is from Nong Pla Lai - Hua Hin, a distance of 76km, which is 94.828% complete.

The second stage of constriction is the Hua Hin - Prachuap Khiri Khan line, a distance 84 kilometers, which is now 99.870% complete.

The third stage is the Prachuap Khiri Khan Chumphon section, which is also divided across two projects: Prachuap Khiri Khan - Bang Saphan

Noi, a distance of 88 kilometers, 85.073% complete, while the second project covers Bang Saphan Noi - Chumphon, a distance of 79 kilometers, the construction of which is now 87.128% complete.

Once completed, the dual track railway will transform travel from Bangkok to Phetchaburi, Hua Hin and eventually all the way to Thailand’s deep south and the border with Malaysia.

Overall, the construction of the Southern Railway Construction Project is now 92.813% complete.

While not to be confused with the high speed train which had been mooted for Hua Hin (those plans remain firmly on the drawing board at present) are set to be significantly faster than the current rolling stock.

The DRT said that the Southern Line - up to and including the Hua Hin to Prachuap Khiri Khan - section will be partially opened in the next two or three months for testing.

The new dual track rail line will be fully open in 2023, the DRT said, once the signaling system has been installed.

Meanwhile, Dr Pichet explained that the new Hua Hin Railway Station, which will be the first elevated train station in Thailand when it is completed, is being built as part of the Nong Pla Lai - Hua Hin train line. The station is expected to be completed later this year.

The new dual track trains are expected to travel at approximately 160km/h meaning people can easily reach Bangkok between two and three hours, a big improvement on the journey by train currently – which can often take between 6 and 9 hours!

The dual track trains will arrive and depart Bangkok at the new (and pretty spectacular) Bang Sue Grand Station.

By 2051, some 2.85 million people will be using the dual track train line.

Prior to living in Thailand, Andrew had spent 20 years in Korea where he worked as an English teacher and also wrote a song about the Korean university games which gained national recognition among students throughout the country.

After teaching English he then began making music videos and was able to tap into his expertise to create a video to help showcase their poetry.

With the restrictions in place due to COVID having brought the group together, Andrew saw the pandemic as inspiration for the video.

“I mentioned that I would like to create a video about something to do with the COVID experience, so that’s what I did”, Andrew said, who also wrote all the music for the video.

he work of a group of local poets will be featured at a major international poetry festival which is due to take place later this year.

The 10th annual International Video Poetry Film Festival will be held in Greece at the end of September and is one of the largest international platforms for video poetry.

What was meant to be a two week break in Ao Manao resulted in a near two year stay for Sandra, who had even sent boxes of belongings back to the United States in preparation for her leaving.

According to its website, the International Video Poetry Festival in Athens attempts to create an open public space for the creative expression of all tendencies and streams of contemporary visual poetry.

“I had a ticket to return to America but it got canceled so I stayed in Ao Manao and I couldn’t be happier”.

Every year, it offers poets, film directors, video artists and festival makers from all over the world a platform for creative exchange, brainstorming and meeting with a broad audience.

It was a similar situation for fellow writers Richard and Barbara who had been due to travel to Portugal when the pandemic hit.

The poetry group in Ao Manao, which features writers Sandra Wright, Barbara Faulconer, Andrew Meserth and Richard Ypenberg, formed at the beginning of the pandemic.

Having all found themselves in Ao Manao, the group bonded over their love of poetry and began holding weekly sessions at the nearby Choo’s Guesthouse, which plays a starring role in their video.

All the members of the group share a passion for poetry and writing.

The sessions would see each of the members share their poetry and writings with one another.

Richard, a former Bangkok Post journalist, has been writing poetry throughout his life, while Sandra self-published her art and poems in a book titled She Be Queen. Barbara, also an artist and photographer, has taught writing and writes poetry and prose.

They then started to collaborate and the idea to make a short film was born.

Writer Andrew Meserth, who has some previous experience with video making, suggested producing a video to accompany the group’s work.

Andrew said he believed the group’s work was good enough to feature in the festival and formally submitted the video for inclusion.

Not only was the submission accepted, Andrew received correspondence from the organisers to say the video had been selected as one of the finalists at the festival.

The group are now eagerly awaiting to find out how their video will fare at this year’s event.

While there are so many stories of the pandemic keeping people apart, it was the pandemic which actually brought this particular group together.

The video, titled CHOO’s GUESTHOUSE: Monday Night Poetry, was shot at various locations around Ao Manao and took over one year to produce and edit. Other members of the group as well as friends and people living locally also feature in the video.

Members Sandra, Richard and Barbara had all been due to travel overseas but suddenly found themselves in Ao Manao, unable to leave Thailand.

The 10th annual International Video Poetry Festival will be held in Athens from September 30 to October 1, 2022.

“I had been teaching poetry at Payap University in Chiang Mai and have visited Ao Manao every year”, Sandra Wright told Hua Hin Today.

RESUMPTION OF HUA HIN - KUALA LUMPUR FLIGHTS DELAYED T he resumption of flights connecting Hua Hin and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia has been delayed.

Flights between the two destinations were due to resume on June 1, having previously been suspended due to the pandemic.

However, Hua Hin Today understands the flights will not be operating before July, with AirAsia now only taking bookings for flights from July 31.

Customers who had booked tickets for the flights in June have already received confirmation that flights have been canceled.

The information received regarding the postponement of the flights came exactly four years to the day the inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur landed at Hua Hin Airport.

The route, which first launched on May 18, 2018 was then temporarily suspended as a result of the travel restrictions in place due to COVID-19.

The only flight now operating to and from Hua Hin Airport is to Chiang Mai, which currently operates every Friday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, in other airport related news, the Red Hop-on, Hop-off bus service continues to operate in Hua Hin. The service offers unlimited weekend travel for just 300 baht and follows on from the one launched last year by Event Hub Hua Hin. The bus travels the length of Hua Hin, stopping at key locations along the way.

Passengers can alight and board the bus from any stop off points using a single ticket.

The service operates from 9am with the last stop at 11.32pm, with scheduled hourly stops at each location.

Some of the locations the service stops at includes Hua Hin Airport, the Clock Tower, Cicada Market, Banyan Residences, Market Village and BluPort.

otorists driving from Hua Hin will be able to travel into Bangkok via a new eight lane bridge from next year.

With a width of 450 metres, the new eight lane bridge will be the widest cable-stayed bridge over the Chao Phraya River when it opens in 2023.

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) says construction of the new bridge is

The new bridge, which is expected to cost in the region of 6.6 billion baht, will help to connect Rama III, Dao Khanong, and Western Outer Ring Road and will improve travel between Bangkok, the west and south Thailand.

EXAT says the bridge will be able to withstand winds of up to 270 km/h, which according to the Enhanced F-scale, the most widely used method for measuring tornado strength is the equivalent to that of a violent tornado.

EXAT also says that as well as helping to alleviate traffic traveling in and out of the capital, the new bridge will be a new landmark in Bangkok due to its intricate and pronounced design.

The construction of the eight lane bridge is not the only new project which is set to benefit people travelling between Hua Hin and Bangkok.

The 109 kilometre M8 Intercity Express Tollway will connect Nakhon Pathom with Tha Yang in Phetchaburi and will also pass through Ratchaburi and Samut Songkhram The four lane expressway, which will include a total of nine toll gates, should slash travel time for motorists travelling between Tha Yang.

Construction for the expressway is expected to begin before the end of the year.

NEW LUXURY HOTEL TO OPEN IN HUA HIN new luxury beachfront hotel is to open in Hua Hin.

A transformation of what was The Imperial Hotel, which has been closed since May 2019, will see the Kimpton Hua Hin Resort open in 2024.

The hotel will be located on the beachfront in the area known locally as 19 Rai. Asset World Corporation (AWC) and IHG Hotels & Resorts will build on their existing long term strategic partnership to operate the 124 room hotel.

Why is strength training important for your health?

There are so many benefits you can get from regular strength training. Not only will you get stronger, but you will also help to boost your immune and metabolic system, improve your energy level, get rid of injuries, become smarter, live longer, be leaner, and improve your mood.

Not bad, right?

All those benefits are backed up with clinical studies, yet maybe only 10% of the population is doing strength training regularly.

Don’t freak out if you are part of the 90% that have never tried strength training.

The idea of strength training can be daunting at first, but the beauty of it is that you can start right now and reap the benefits.

The gym can be a scary environment but don’t worry everyone goes with the same goal, to better themselves, whether you are an absolute beginner or a high level athlete.

If it still sounds too scary, too costly etc, strength training can be as simple as doing squats and push ups in your living room. Really there are no excuses good enough to not do it.

People often tell me what their routines are, which exercises they are doing and ask me if it’s right or wrong.

I usually answer that it’s better to do something rather than nothing even if it’s not the perfect routine.

By the end of the 30 days you will be squatting better, moving better and be stronger than you were when you started!

WHAT IS LONG COVID?

L

ong COVID is the long-term effects of coronavirus. People still have specific symptoms even after their recovery from coronavirus. 30-50% of people infected with coronavirus may have long COVID, especially those with severe illness. Long COVID symptoms can be categorized into six different groups per the effects on the body, which may last at least two months, as follows: 1. Symptoms involving the nervous system found at 27.33%, such as acute weakness in certain parts of the body, headache, dizziness, forgetfulness, and muscle atrophy.

2. Symptoms related to mental health found at 32.1%, such as insomnia, anxiety and depression.

3. Symptoms involving the cardiovascular system found at 22.86%, such as chest pain and heart palpitations.

4. Symptoms involving the respiratory system found at 44.38%, such as shortness of breath and chronic cough.

5. Symptoms involving the integumentary system found at 22.8%, such as hair loss and rash.

6. Generic symptoms found at 23.41%, such as tiredness/fatigue, muscle pain and joint pain.

Most people would feel better and fully recover by themselves. However, if a patient has these symptoms for more than two months, they should consult with a doctor.

Patients experiencing long COVID need to take good care of their bodies, always keep themselves healthy and strengthen their immune system by: • Eating good wholesome food that has all five main food groups, cooked and clean, focusing on easy-to-digest food because there may be gastrointestinal disorders • If patients have a poor appetite, they should divide their food into several smaller meals to keep blood sugar levels stable. This will help prevent their body from becoming tired and weary. It is recommended to eat protein-rich foods such as meat, eggs, milk, cheese, nuts, and tofu • Consuming foods with healthy microorganisms or probiotics, such as yoghurt and yoghurt drink. It is recommended to choose a product that has less sugar, combined with high-fibre foods such as whole grains, legumes, bananas, onions, and garlic to provide food for healthy microorganisms and helps the body's immune system In addition to the recommended food, there is food that should be avoided as well, such as: • Junk food, ready-to-eat food and frozen food • Preserved food • Grilled, fried and oily food • Food with strong tastes, which are hard to digest • Alcoholic drinks The reason is that these foods have the effect of lowering the immune system.

Suppose we cannot avoid coronavirus or an infection. In that case, we must take the best care of ourselves during and after the infection.

After four weeks, the electroacupuncture group significantly decreased pain, and MRIs showed distinct evidence of cartilage regrowth and repair.

Climbing up and downstairs is a challenge. Pain wakes you up at night. Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common causes of chronic knee pain. It causes pain, inflammation, and stiffness, making it hard to flex and extend your knee.

What causes knee osteoarthritis?

While age is a significant risk factor for knee osteoarthritis, young people can get it, too.

Repetitive joint force or trauma regularly increases their risk of developing osteoarthritis. Trauma or repetitive pressure causes the cartilage cells called chondrocytes to burst, which creates inflammation. Joints like the hip and knee are typically affected by osteoarthritis.

These joints are lubricated by a natural substance called synovial fluid. The damage to the cartilage causes the chondrocytes to flake apart and absorb synovial fluid, which decreases the amount of lubricant in the joint. Reducing joint lubrication increases friction between the joint

bones, which accelerates joint decay and causes more inflammation and degenerative bone changes.

Essentially, this makes young joints look and feel old in a relatively short amount of time.

ver the past 4 weeks the weather has changed and we have had a large amount of rain falling on the golf course.

The greens are still in great condition, running true and fast.

With our situation close to the mountains, we have many streams that filter down on to our course and we now have of plenty of water in our lakes for this year.

You will have noticed that the Pro-Shop has now re-opened and has been upgrade during the pandemic. We have a large stock of new items available sale, including a new range of clothes.

The weekly competition has had a much smaller number of players taking part over the past 4 weeks. This has been due to the inclement weather and quite a few of our members returning to their own countries for the summer in Europe. We look forward to their return later this year. The Competition is played each Thursday and if you wish to take part, you can either enter your name on the list in the Pro-Shop, or by email to, bookings@majesticcreekcc.com and your Tee Time will be sent to you, by email, on Wednesday morning.

POPULAR HUA HIN CRICKET SIXES TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD IN JUNE

T

he Hua Hin Cricket Sixes will take place at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin from June 28 to July 3.

The popular amatuer cricket event returns after a hiatus due the pandemic.

“There will be 14 teams taking part this year, including players from India, Australia, UK and Thailand”, organiser Richard Vine told Hua Hin Today.

“It is 6-a-side cricket, with each team bowling five overs”.

“Games normally take around 40 minutes, so it is a much shorter game, but it is a great spectacle”, Richard added.

Despite cricket not being particularly popular in Thailand, the Hua Hin Cricket Sixes is now in its 25th year, with the tournament bringing almost 200 people, including players, families and friends, to Hua Hin. Over the years a number of former professional players have taken part in the tournament, including former England international, Allan Lamb.

The Hua Hin Sixes includes three different competitions: the Cup,

Vets (over 50s) and Masters (over 35s), while professional umpires are drafted in to ensure that the rules are followed and the games are played in the correct spirit.

Also taking part in the tournament will be the local team the Hua Hin Hoppalongs.

The team, which was founded by local author Colin Devonshire, is now on the lookout for a couple of players to play in this year’s Hua Hin Cricket Sixes.

Richard says to join Hua Hin Hoppalongs, players need to be aged over 50 and able to bowl straight, no matter how slow, with the ability to drink “prodigious quantities of beer and vodka” a distinct advantage.

The match fee for players is 7,000 baht, which also includes a cocktail party and two dinners at the Dusit Thani.

As well as for players, the Hua Hin Cricket Sixes is a great social occasion for spectators and is well worth attending for cricket lovers in Hua Hin. More information can be found at https://www.huahincricketsixes.com/

CENTARA WORLD MASTERS: HUA HIN HOSTS ASIA’S BIGGEST TOURNAMENT FOR CLUB GOLFERS

A

fter a two year hiatus, the Centara World Masters Golf Championship made a welcome return to Hua Hin in May. Over two hundred people took part in the event in what is Asia’s biggest and richest tournament for club golfers.

Golfers from more than 20 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, India, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom flew in to take part in the tournament.

The annual event, now in its seventh year, is a collaboration between Australian-base Go Golfing, which has been hosting World Masters Golf events around the world for 27 years, and Thailand-based Golfasian, which looks after more golfers traveling to Asia than any other golf tour operator.

Attendees to the event stayed at ​​host hotel the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, while the golfing action was played out on the greens and fairways of Black Mountain, Banyan and Springfield courses.

“We are thrilled to have had such a successful turnout for our first post-covid Centara World Masters golf tournment and we are looking forward to many events in the future”, Mark Siegel, Golfasian’s Managing Director told Hua Hin Today.

SCHOOL FOR PUPILS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS TO BE IN HUA HIN

W

ork has begun to create a brand new school for children with special education needs or disabilities in Hua Hin. The Special Children’s School is being built in order to provide new educational facilities to 48 children who attend the Special Education Centre at Anubaan Hua Hin Nongkhon school.

The school provides educational and learning support to children who are deaf, blind or who have difficulty with speech and language learning, are on the autism spectrum or who have emotional and behavioural issues.

The students currently study in a classroom which measures just 49 square meters, leaving conditions cramped, which makes learning difficult and has a negative impact in terms of the development of the children both physically and mentally, as well as emotionally.

Phase 1 of the project should take approximately 7 months to complete, while phase two will be to provide specialist classrooms and phase three will provide housing for the teachers.

The plans for the school include the construction of seven classrooms equipped to provide special learning support for the students.

Two of the classrooms will be specifically designed to assist children with autism, while there will also be a light and audio sensory room, an intelligence room and a room designed to aid speech training.

Initially teachers at the school approached Bangkok based media platform Ejan, which is well known for its support of worthy causes, to help publicise the need for new school facilities.

Ejan then generously agreed to raise the 20 million needed for the first phase of the project.

Set to open in June 2023, the new school is located in the Black Mountain area and will be built on 3 rai of land.

Other classrooms being constructed at the new school will help with physical therapy and there will also be a water therapy room and nature garden learning zone, while the new bathroom will be specifically designed to assist disabled children.

On Wednesday (May 25) a ceremony was held to mark the formal breaking of ground on the build, which has been made possible by donations a number of different organizations including

Ichitan Group Public Company Limited, Sansiri Public Company Limited, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, TKS Chemical Co., Ltd, SCG Co., Ltd, RSK ReuQ Equipment Co., Ltd, the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin and Ejan.

The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin will sponsor 500,000 baht for the building of the audio sensory room.

Once completed, the school will be governed by the Ministry of Education, which has purchased the land the school will be built on and will assign specialist teachers to help with the development of the children attending, as well as providing support for their families and the local community.

While donations have been received to cover some of the costs of the school, more donations are still required.

KENNY G PERFORMS AT THE INTERNATIONAL JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL 2022 IN HUA HIN

bit of rain didn’t dampen the spirits at the International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 which took place in Hua Hin on Saturday (May 7).

The event was held at True Arena Hua Hin Sports Club and featured a performance from Grammy winning, hit making saxophone icon Kenny G.

Doors for the festival opened at 4pm and included performances from Bangkok based Brazilian jazz band Mellow Motif, Thailand’s leading saxophonist Pae Sax and renowned blues artists Yamin & SOS.

Despite heavy rain falling on Hua Hin for much of the Saturday, earlier in the day, event organisers Neekrung reassured fans the event would go ahead regardless of the weather.

Kenny G, whose show in Hua Hin was one of his first overseas performances in recent years, was performing following the release of his latest album, New Standards.

The rain finally cleared for the start of the festival, before falling again mid-way through Kenny G’s set.

The album - his first in six years - features 11 original compositions inspired by the jazz ballads of the ’50s and ’60s.

“Sorry about the rain”, Kenny told the audience.

The wet weather didn’t take anything away from the event, with the crowd seemingly enjoying every minute of Kenny G’s two hour set.

Kenny G is also the subject of the new Netflix documentary, “Listening To Kenny G,” directed by Penny Lane. The doc takes a humorous, but incisive, look at the best-selling instrumentalist of all time – and quite possibly one of the most famous living musicians.

Besides Kenny G, the International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 and featured a number of other blues and jazz artists.

In 2019, Kenny G recorded a track with Kanye West, which featured on the rapper’s album Jesus is King.

At the time, Kenny explained the collaboration came about after he performed for West and his then wife Kim Kardashian at their house to mark Valentine’s Day. Meanwhile, Mr. Siripakorn Cheawsamut, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said the International Jazz & Blues Festival 2022 had been a success.

Mr. Siripakorn said that TAT will be organising more events, such as music festivals, sport events and food festivals to help attract tourists to visit Thailand from overseas.

A HIDDEN GEM: THE HUA HIN RESTAURANT SERVING INCREDIBLE AUTHENTIC INDIAN FOOD

njoying a nice curry with friends and family is one of the real culinary treats.

But in Thailand, Indian food can sometimes be a little hit and miss.

Fortunately for people living in or visiting Hua Hin, there is a hidden gem of a restaurant serving delicious and authentic Indian food.

Eat At Sivana is located at Soi 126 and serves up flavour packed, yet affordable Indian cuisine from its modern and spacious poolside setting.

The recently overhauled menu includes all the ‘old school favourites’ such as butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala, as well as some lesser known dishes, all of which are cooked by experienced Indian chef, Bobby.

For as good as the food tastes, it is also reasonably priced with starters from just 90 baht, curries around 200 baht and tandoori dishes (the

kitchen includes a genuine tandoori oven) from 165 baht.

There are lots of vegetarian options too. The dal palak, one of the most popular dishes among vegetarian customers, offers great value at just 135 baht.

Overall, portion sizes can be described as generous, the samosas were substantial and the tandoori chicken would be more than enough for sharing between a group.

For curry lovers, the lamb rogan josh is a must try.

The meat is unbelievably tender and just melts in the mouth.

Another dish diners keep coming back for is the biryani - perfectly cooked rice, seasoned with rich spices alongside tender chicken.

What’s not to like?

The Naan bread was soft, tasty and easy to tear apart for mopping up that curry sauce.

Eat at Sivana ticks a lot of boxes, in terms of taste, quality, value and setting.

THAILAND RANKED 4 MOST POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATION

hailand has been ranked among the most popular destinations in the world, according to a study carried out by the financial services provider Visa.

Thailand was ranked the fourth most popular destination behind the United States, the United Kingdom and India, respectively.

In addition, the Visa Global Travel Intentions Study found that Hua Hin was among the most popular destinations in Thailand for foreigners who were searching for information online.

Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai were found to be other popular destinations.

Visa said that the most popular activities for people visiting Thailand included spending time at a spa resort, Thai massage and experiencing Thai culture, such as visiting temples or sampling

traditional Thai cuisine.

Serene Gay, Visa Group Country Manager for Regional S o u t h e a s t A s i a s a i d : “ I t ’s encouraging to see Thailand remains one of the most desirable travel destinations in the world. As borders reopen and international travel gradually resumes, it’s important that travelrelated businesses are ready to accommodate tourists and their new post-pandemic preferences, including the ability to make safe, contactless digital payments. This will be key in creating business momentum and allowing businesses to thrive in the future.”

The study found that the top three motivations for people to visit Thailand are leisure pursuits (30%), the chance to escape and relax (25%), and outdoor adventure (18%).

This demonstrates visitors are looking for stress free holidays that provide optimum opportunities to relax, get outdoors, and leave the worries of the pandemic behind.

Thailand’s tourism industry is showing signs of recovery, with increasing visitor numbers over the next three years expected to reach around 46.96 million by the end of 2024, according to the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) study for Thailand. The ongoing relaxation of tourist entry requirements throughout the year should make it easier for tourists to return to

Thailand.

“We hope these insights help tourism operators and all businesses in Thailand prepare for the returnto-travel phase. Visa continues to support tourism authorities, cities, and operators by providing digital payment solutions and valuable insights that help to unlock new opportunities. We hope our collaborative efforts will accelerate Thailand’s recovery and enable the country to recapture its full potential,” Serene concluded.

The news comes as Hua Hin was found to be among the top two most popular destinations in Thailand for domestic tourists during the recent long weekends in May. According to data released by Agoda, Pattaya and Hua Hin were the two most searched destinations on its platform for booking for the Labour Day long weekend (May 1-2) and the Visaka holiday (May 15).

Pattaya and Hua Hin, which were the first and second most searched for destinations, respectively, ahead of Phuket (3rd), Bangkok (4th) and Khao Yai (5th), Agoda said.

มู่ส่ิทำธิคัด้ค้านกี่ารเกี่็บุรวบุรวมู ใช้หรือเปิด้เผู้ยข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วน บุ​ุคคลทำ่�เกี่​่�ยวกี่ับุตันเองเมูื�อไหร่กี่็ได้​้ • ส่ิที่ธิขอให้ลบุหรือที่�าลาย่หรือที่�าให้ข้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคล เป็​็นข้อมู​ูลที่​่�ไมู่ส่ามูารถระบุ​ุตั​ัวบุ​ุคคลได้ (Right to Erasure / Right to be Forgotten) มู่ส่ิทำธิข้อให้ลบุหรือทำำาลาย หรือทำำาให้ข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลเป็น ข้​้อมู​ูลทำ่�ไมู่ส่ามูารถึระบุ​ุตั​ัวบุ​ุคคลได้​้เมูื�อข้​้อมู​ูลหมูด้ความูจำาเป็น เจ้าข้องข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลถึอนความูยินยอมู หรือข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคล ถึูกี่เกี่็บุรวบุรวมู ใช้ หรือเปิด้เผู้ยโด้ยไมู่ชอบุด้​้วยกี่ฎหมูาย • ส่ิที่ธิขอให้ระงับุการใช้ข้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคล (Right to Restrict Processing) มู่ส่ิทำธิข้อให้ระงับุกี่ารใช้ข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลข้องตันเองไว้ เป็นกี่ารชั�วคราวได้​้ • ส่ิ ที่ ธิ ข อให้ แ ก้ ไ ขข้ อ มู​ู ล ส่​่ ว นบุ​ุ ค คล (Right to Rectification) มู่ส่ิทำธิข้อให้ผูู้้ควบุคุมูข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลด้ำาเนินกี่ารให้ข้​้อมู​ูล ส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลถึูกี่ตั้องส่มูบุูรณ์ และเป็นปัจจุบุัน • ส่ิ ที่ ธิ ใ นการเพิ ก ถอนความูย่ิ น ย่อมู (Right to Withdraw Consent) มู่ส่ิทำธิยกี่เลิกี่ความูยินยอมูในข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลทำ่�เคยให้ ข้​้อมู​ูลไปแล้ว และส่ามูารถึทำำาเมูื�อใด้กี่็ได้​้ • ส่ิที่ธิในการร้องเร่ย่น มู่ส่ิทำธิรร้องเร่ยนในกี่รณ่ทำ่�ผูู้้ควบุคุมูหรือผูู้้ประมูวลผู้ลไมู่ ปฎิบุัตัิตัามูพ.ร.บุ.คุ้มูครองข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคล ข้อยกเว้นที่​่ส� ามารถเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลได้​้ โด้ย ไม่ต้​้องขอความยินยอม • Scientific or Historical Research เป็นกี่ารจัด้ทำำาเอกี่ส่ารประวัตัิศาส่ตัร์ จด้หมูายเหตัุ กี่าร ศึกี่ษาวิจัย หรือส่ถึิตัิ • Vital Interest เพือ� ป้องกี่ันหรือระงับุอันตัรายตั่อช่วตัิ ร่างกี่าย หรือสุ่ข้ภาพ ข้องบุ​ุคคล เช่น กี่ารเข้​้ารับุบุริกี่ารทำางกี่ารแพทำย์ ณ โรงพยาบุาล • Contract เป็นกี่ารจำาเป็นเพือ� กี่ารปฏิ​ิบุตั​ั ตัิ ามูส่ัญญา เช่น เจ้าข้องข้​้อมู​ูล ส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลทำำาส่ัญญากีู่้ยืมูเงินจากี่ธนาคาร ธนาคารส่ามูารถึเกี่็บุ รวบุรวมู ใช้ หรือเปิด้เผู้ยข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคลนั�นได้​้ตัามูวัตัถึุประส่งค์ ข้องส่ัญญา • Public Task เป็นกี่ารจำาเป็นเพื�อกี่ารปฏิ​ิบุัตัิหน้าทำ่�ในกี่ารด้ำาเนินภารกี่ิจ เพือ� ประโยชน์ส่าธารณะ หรือปฏิ​ิบุตั​ั หิ น้าทำ่ใ� นกี่ารใช้อำานาจรัฐ เช่น หน่วยงานข้องรัฐจัด้ทำำา Big Data เพื�อแกี่้ปัญหาความูยากี่จนข้อง เกี่ษตัรกี่ร • Legitimate Interest เป็นกี่ารจำาเป็นเพื�อประโยชน์โด้ยชอบุด้​้วยกี่ฎหมูายข้องผูู้้ ควบุคุมูข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วนบุ​ุคคล หรือข้องบุ​ุคคลหรือนิตัิบุ​ุคคลอื�น เช่น บุริษัทำเอกี่ชนตัิด้ตั​ั�งกี่ล้องวงจรปิด้ภายในอาคารเพื�อรักี่ษาความู ปลอด้ภัย ซึ่ึง� บุริษทำั ส่ามูารถึเกี่็บุรวบุรวมูภาพถึ่ายซึ่ึง� เป็นข้​้อมู​ูลส่​่วน บุ​ุคคลข้องบุ​ุคคลทำ่�อยู่ในบุริเวณด้ังกี่ล่าวได้​้ • Legal Obligations เป็นกี่ารปฏิ​ิบุัตัิตัามูกี่ฎหมูาย

เหติ้ผู้ลและคุ้วาม่จ�าเป็นในก่ารจ�าก่ัด้ส่ิทธิ​ิและเส่ร่ภาพของ บั้คุ้คุ้ลติาม่พระราชบั​ัญญัตินิ เ่้ พือ� ให้ก่ารบั​ังคุ้ับัใช้ก่ฎหม่ายและก่าร จัด้ระเบั่ยบัก่ารจราจรทางบัก่เป็นไปอย่างม่​่ประส่ิทธิ​ิภาพอันจะ (คุ้) คุ้นโด้ยส่ารท่�ม่​่คุ้วาม่ส่้งไม่​่เก่ิน 135 เซนติ​ิเม่ติร ติ้องรัด้ เป็นประโยชน์แก่​่คุ้วาม่ปลอด้ภัยส่าธิารณะ คุ้วาม่ส่งบัเร่ยบัร้อย ร่างก่ายด้​้วยเข็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยไว้ก่บั​ั ท่น� ง�ั หรือม่​่วธิ​ิ ป่ อ้ งก่ันอันติรายในก่รณ่ และส่วั ส่ ด้ิ ภ าพของประชาชนซึ� ง ก่ารติราพระราชบั​ั ญ ญั ติ​ิ น่้ ท่เ� ก่ิด้อ้บั​ัติ​ิเหติ้ ไม่​่ว่าจะนั�งแถ้วติอนใด้ ส่อด้คุ้ล้องก่ับัเงื�อนไขท่�บั​ัญญัติ​ิไว้ในม่าติรา 26 ของรัฐธิรรม่น้ญ แห่งราชอาณาจัก่รไทยแล้ว ในก่รณ่ ท่� ผู้​้ ขั บั ข่� ห รื อ ผู้​้​้ โ ด้ยส่ารม่​่ เ หติ้ ผู้ ลทางส่้ ข ภาพอั น ไม่​่ ส่าม่ารถ้รัด้ร่างก่ายด้​้วยเข็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยไว้ก่บั​ั ท่น� ง�ั ได้​้ ให้ได้​้รบั​ั ก่ารยก่เว้น จึงทรงพระก่ร้ณาโปรด้เก่ล้าฯ ให้ติราพระราชบั​ัญญัติ​ิขึ้น ไม่​่ติ้องปฏิ​ิบั​ัติ​ิติาม่วรรคุ้ 1 แติ่บั้คุ้คุ้ลนั้นติ้องม่​่วิธิ่ก่ารป้องก่ันอันติราย ไว้โด้ยคุ้�าแนะน�าของรัฐส่ภา ในก่รณ่ท่�เก่ิด้อ้บั​ัติ​ิเหติ้ ส่�าหรับัส่าระส่�าคุ้ัญม่​่ด้ังน่้ ท่�นั�งนิรภัยส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่และท่�นั�งพิเศษส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่เพื�อป้องก่ัน ม่าติรา 7 ให้ยก่เลิก่คุ้วาม่ในม่าติรา 123 แห่งพระราช อันติรายติาม่ (2) (ข) และวิธิก่​่ ารป้องก่ันอันติรายในก่รณ่ทเ่� ก่ิด้อ้บัติั เิ หติ้ บั​ัญญัติ​ิจราจรทางบัก่ พ.ศ. 2522 ซึ�งแก่้ไขเพิ�ม่เติ​ิม่โด้ยคุ้�าส่ั�ง ติาม่ท่�บั​ัญญัติ​ิไว้ในม่าติราน่้ ให้เป็นไปติาม่ท่�ผู้​้บั​ัญชาก่ารติ�ารวจแห่ง หัวหน้าคุ้ณะรัก่ษาคุ้วาม่ส่งบัแห่งชาติ​ิ ท่� 14/2560 พ้ทธิศัก่ราช ชาติ​ิประก่าศก่�าหนด้ 2560 และให้ใช้คุ้วาม่ติ่อไปน่แ้ ทน บัทบั​ัญญัติติ​ิ าม่ม่าติราน่ม่้ ใิ ห้ใช้บังั คุ้ับัก่ับัผู้​้ท้ อ่� ย้ใ่ น รถ้ส่าม่ล้อ รถ้ ม่าติรา 123 ภายใติ้บั​ังคุ้ับัม่าติรา 123/1 ในขณะขับั บัด้ถ้นน รถ้แทรก่เติอร์ และรถ้ใช้งานเก่ษติรก่รรม่ ติาม่ก่ฎหม่ายว่า รถ้ยนติ์ ผู้​้​้ท่�อย้่ในรถ้ติ้องปฏิ​ิบั​ัติ​ิติาม่หลัก่เก่ณฑ์​์และเงื�อนไข ด้ัง ด้​้วยรถ้ยนติ์ และรถ้ยนติ์อื�นท่�ไม่​่ติ้องติ​ิด้ติั้งเข็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยติาม่ท่�อธิ​ิบัด้่ ติ่อไปน่้ ก่รม่ขนส่​่งทางบัก่ประก่าศก่�าหนด้ 1. ผู้​้ข้ บั​ั ข่� ติ้องรัด้ร่างก่ายด้​้วยเข็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยไว้ก่บั​ั ท่น� งั� ติลอด้ เวลาในขณะขับัรถ้ยนติ์ 2. คุ้นโด้ยส่าร (ก่) คุ้นโด้ยส่ารท่�นั�งแถ้วติอนหน้าและท่�นั�งแถ้วติอนอื�น ติ้องรัด้ร่างก่ายด้​้วยเช็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยไว้ก่ับัท่�นั�งติลอด้เวลาในขณะ โด้ยส่ารรถ้ยนติ์ (ข) คุ้นโด้ยส่ารท่�เป็นเด้็ก่อาย้ไม่​่เก่ิน 6 ปี ติ้องจัด้ให้นั�งท่� นั�งนิรภัยส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่หรือนั�งในท่�พิเศษส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่เพื�อป้องก่ัน อันติราย หรือม่​่วิธิ่ป้องก่ันอันติรายในก่รณ่ท่�เก่ิด้อ้บั​ัติ​ิเหติ้

ผู้​้�ใดฝ่​่าฝ่ืน หรื​ือไม่​่ปฏิ​ิบั​ัติ​ิติาม่ม่าติรืา 123 วรืรืค 1 ติ�อง รืะวางโทษปรืับัไม่​่เกิ​ิน 2,000 บัาท จาก่ข้อคุ้วาม่ด้ังก่ล่าว ก่รม่ก่ารขนส่​่งทางบัก่ได้​้อธิ​ิบัายเพิ�ม่ เติ​ิม่ในก่รณ่นว่้ า่ ก่ฎหม่ายน่ม่้ ว่ ติั ถ้​้ประส่งคุ้์เพือ� ก่�าหนด้ให้ผู้โ้ ด้ยส่าร ท้ก่คุ้นบันรถ้จะติ้องคุ้าด้เข็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยติลอด้เวลาในขณะโด้ยส่าร รถ้ยนติ์ และส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่ท่�ม่​่อาย้ไม่​่เก่ิน 6 ปี จะก่�าหนด้ให้นั�งใน ท่�นั�งนิรภัยส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่ หรือท่�นั�งพิเศษส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่ หรือม่​่วิธิ่ก่าร ป้องก่ันอันติรายในก่รณ่ท่�เก่ิด้อ้บั​ัติ​ิเหติ้ ซึ�งไม่​่ได้​้บั​ังคุ้ับัเด้็ด้ขาด้ว่า จะติ้องใช้เพ่ยงท่น� งั� นิรภัยส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่ หรือคุ้าร์ซท่ เท่านัน้ ในก่าร ป้องก่ันอันติรายส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่ นอก่จาก่ติ​ิด้ติั้งคุ้าร์ซ่ทแล้วยังส่าม่ารถ้ใช้วิธิ่ก่ารอื�น ๆ เช่น จัด้หาท่�นั�งส่�าหรับัเด้็ก่ให้เด้็ก่ส่าม่ารถ้ใช้เข็ม่ขัด้นิรภัยท่�ติ​ิด้ติั้งใน รถ้ยนติ์ได้​้ หรืออาจใช้วธิ​ิ ก่​่ ารป้องก่ันอืน� ๆ ท่ส่� �านัก่งานติ�ารวจแห่ง ชาติ​ิประก่าศก่�าหนด้ เพื�อให้เด้็ก่ม่​่คุ้วาม่ปลอด้ภัยในก่ารโด้ยส่าร ทั้งน่้ พ.ร.บั. ฉบั​ับัแก่้ไขก่�าหนด้โทษปรับัไว้ส่้งส่้ด้ไม่​่เก่ิน 2,000 บัาท และม่​่ผู้ลบั​ังคุ้ับัใช้ในอ่ก่ 120 วัน นับัแติ่วันประก่าศ ในราชก่ิจจาน้เบัก่ษา หรือในวันท่� 5 ก่ันยายนน่้
