hat a blessing to be able to write to you today, as we celebrate our fifteenth year of providing quality Catholic education at Holy Trinity Catholic School. It certainly has not been an easy journey for our little school, but through the grace of God and the support of many wonderful people, our school continues to thrive.

This report provides a small look back at the 2022-2023 academic year and gives recognition to those who supported us throughout the year. Without their support, our ministry would not survive. During the 2023-2024 school year, our plan is to continue to provide quality academics to all students in grades K4 through fifth in a safe and nurturing environment. We hope to expand our preschool program, while still striving daily to prepare our older students for success in middle school. Of course, everything we do will be done through the lens of our Catholic faith. We will also continue to ensure every family is afforded the opportunity to secure Catholic education for their children, whether it be through the First Steps 4K program or through the new School Choice scholarships. This year’s annual fund campaign will provide the funds to make all these things possible. Thank you to all those who make the ministry of Holy Trinity Catholic School a reality. I pray that God blesses all of you as you have blessed us. We pray for you daily and ask you to do the same for us. Blessings,

Karen E. Luzzo, B.A., M.S. Principal

Ways TO GIVE

T

HOLY TRINITY 2023-2024 ANNUAL FUND APPEAL he Annual Fund campaign for Holy Trinity Catholic School begins with the publishing of this annual report and appeal. Donations may be made to the appeal campaign by utilizing the cards located in the narthex, by mailing a check to the school office at 1100 8th Avenue N., NMB, SC 29582, or by dropping off a check to the school or church offices between January 28, 2023 and June 30, 2024.

AN IRA “GIFT FOR GOOD” Individuals 70 ½ years of age and older can transfer up to $100,000 of IRA assets directly to a charity without the money being included as income for tax purposes. Each spouse has this option, giving married couples the opportunity to donate up to $200,000. This preserves the full amount for charity and allows donors to do this during their lifetime, rather than waiting to give through estate plans. For individuals 70 ½ years of age and older, a qualified charitable distribution can count towards the required minimum distribution (RMD). This offers a distinct advantage over taking an IRA distribution and then contributing the proceeds of that distribution to a charity. That’s because taxable IRA distributions must be included in adjusted gross income. By donating IRA assets to charity, beneficiaries/heirs are not burdened by the potential taxes associated with receiving IRA assets upon death. Use funds to create a lasting legacy! Provide financial support to Holy Trinity Catholic School and make a significant, meaningful difference while enjoying tax advantages.
