Our Mission at Holy Trinity Holy Trinity Catholic School, a ministry of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, offers to early childhood and elementary school students of diverse ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds a superior academic program based on Gospel values. Within a family atmosphere, the school strives to develop the spiritual, academic, personal, creative, and physical growth of each student. Our Vision Holy Trinity Catholic School students will be fully prepared to transition to middle school possessing critical thinking skills, an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and an awareness of what it means to actively live the Gospel values.

IN THIS ISSUE 1. From the Pastor 2. From Our Principal ON THE FRONT COVER The last 8th grade class of Holy Trinity celebrated an unusual graduation this year‌. socially distanced, wearing masks, and noting a toilet paper shortage in our country! Thankfully, we were still able to hold their graduation mass on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

From OUR PRINCIPAL

Dear Holy Trinity Catholic School Family:

S

o many things have changed in our world since the start of 2020, and many people feel uncertain as to what the future holds. Still, I am filled with great hope for the future of Holy Trinity as we begin our twelfth year of providing quality Catholic education. Our smaller class sizes, one of the wonderful things that sets Trinity apart from other schools, made it possible for us to put into place the necessary protocols for social distancing and sanitizing, thus allowing us to reopen on time for five day/week in-person instruction. Students and faculty are happy to be back in the school building once again and parents are thrilled to return to a normal routine.

This year the plan is to strengthen our position as a leader in early childhood and elementary education. Our recent restructuring from a PreK-8th grade school to a PreK-5th grade school has allowed us to focus our efforts on the younger students and to ensuring they have a solid foundation and set of skills on which to build their future years of learning. We will continue to provide rigorous academics infused with technology, and we will do all we can to make Catholic education possible for those families who want it. Of course, everything we do will be done based on Gospel values. This year’s annual fund campaign will provide the funds to make these things happen. This booklet provides a small look at the 2019-2020 academic year. Thank you to all those who make Holy Trinity Catholic School possible, especially during these difficult times. I pray that God bless all of you as you have blessed us. Please know that we hold you in our prayers and in our hearts each and every day. Blessings,

A Picture Walk

of the School Year

O

ur eleventh year was an exciting and interesting one, but this is nothing new for Holy Trinity faculty and students. The pictures here reflect just a small glimpse into life at Holy Trinity. ROAR week, STREAM activities, holiday celebrations, the Science Fair, special Sacraments, virtual art and talent shows, and a socially distanced graduation are just some of the highlights of the 2019-2020 school year.

Ways to GIVE

T

HOLY TRINITY CATH0LIC SCHOOL 2020 – 2021 ANNUAL FUND APPEAL ANNUAL FUND

he Annual Fund Campaign for Holy Trinity Catholic School begins with this annual mailing. A card and envelope for the Annual Fund are enclosed with this report. The return card gives donors the opportunity to make a one-time contribution or to pledge a certain amount for eight months beginning in November 2020 and ending in June 2021.

For online giving visit our website: htcatholicschoolmyrtlebeach.com/giving

AN IRA “GIFT FOR GOOD”

Individuals 70 ½ years of age and older can transfer up to $100,000 of IRA assets directly to a charity without the money being included as income for tax purposes. Each spouse has this option, giving married couples the opportunity to donate up to $200,000. This preserves the full amount for charity and allows donors to do this during their lifetime, rather than waiting to give through estate plans. For individuals 70 ½ years of age and older, a qualified charitable distribution can count towards the required minimum distribution (RMD). This offers a distinct advantage over taking an IRA distribution and then contributing the proceeds of that distribution to a charity. That’s because taxable IRA distributions must be included in adjusted gross income. By donating IRA assets to charity, beneficiaries/heirs are not burdened by the potential taxes associated with receiving IRA assets upon death. Use funds to create a lasting legacy! Provide financial support to Holy Trinity Catholic School and make a significant, meaningful difference while enjoying tax advantages.

NO GIFT IS TOO SMALL

Every dollar counts and combined can make a huge impact on a child's life. htcatholicschoolmyrtlebeach.com/giving
