The Legitimate Leadership Model provides a unique framework for cultivating trust, loyalty and willingness amongst employees in an enterprise. It is based on a premise that the key problem facing leaders at work is to establish a sense of legitimacy for their leadership. Moreover, that there are universal criteria for legitimate power.

APPROACH UNLEASHED A SPIRIT OF GENEROSITY AND COURAGE IN OUR PEOPLE THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE THOUGHT POSSIBLE.”– Graham Edwards Managing Director, African Explosives Limited
These criteria were first established from seminal research and have since been validated in diverse contexts all over the world in the last 20 years.
The key insight from the initial research was that trust in management is granted or withheld singularly on the basis of employees’ perception of leaderships’ genuine concern for employee welfare. By this is meant that leaders have a sincere and genuine concern for those in their charge and that this is evidenced by enabling their people to realize the best in themselves. The universal criteria for legitimate power, in other words, are Care and Growth.
While the above sounds staggeringly simple, the practicalities of the approach are not at all clear to those in authority in an organization. This is because they are principally held accountable for results, for what they are getting from their people, rather than from what they are giving to them in terms of Caring and Growing them.
“THIS LEADERSHIP MODEL HAS THE POTENTIAL TO TRANSFORM YOUR ORGANIZATION BY TRANSFORMING THOSE WHO WORK THERE ...THE ONLY REASON WHY TRANSFORMATION IS NOT ATTAINABLE IS A LACK OF COURAGE” – Hendrik Koornof, HR Director, Babcock International Group
The two day workshop provides those in leadership positions with an understanding of the Legitimate Leadership framework and an opportunity to assess the degree to which they are currently aligned to the Care and Growth criteria. It also deals with the practical application of the framework and the integration of the principles into day to day leadership practices.

Introducing our Season
FOR THE GLORY OF GOD, ALWAYS ENDURE EXISTS TO REMOVE FINANCIAL BARRIERS FOR ADOPTIVE FAMILIES, BARRIERS TO CARE FOR PATIENTS ENDURING MAJOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSES, AND BARRIERS TO PLACEMENT FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE.
WE REMOVE BARRIERS BY LINKING ARMS WITH CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT OUR SERVICE AREA OF SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE AND NORTH ALABAMA.
We have a partnership with Clearview Cancer Institute and HH Lincoln Health through discretionary funds that their social workers can use to remove barriers to care for their patients. Those barriers may include medical bills, medical equipment & supplies, prescriptions, mortgage/rent/utility payments, and transportation to treatment.
We also partner with area businesses and churches for our Community Care Days. On these serve days, we complete yard work for cancer patients who cannot do it themselves due to their ongoing treatment plan.
We remove financial barriers for adoptive families by providing adoption aid grants. Our desireis to help as many children as possible receive their forever home by making adoption more affordable. Adoptive families who live within our service area are welcome to apply for support for either domestic or international adoptions.
To find out more about how we support adoptive families or to submit an application, visit our website.
We remove barriers to placement for children in foster care through House of Hope. This house provides children and teens in foster care a safe, comfortable environment to live temporarily as their social worker(s) locate an appropriate placement for them. Certified, trained volunteers are used to provide comfort care during the day. Social workers assigned to those living at the house stay around the clock, shift changing at different times during the day. Because social workers are always present, we do not have house parents.
Backpacks of Hope is another way that we support children and teens in foster care. They are distributed throughout our service area so they have something to store all of their belongings. Many children in foster care have never had anything that they can call “mine”. Each backpack includes items that will make them feel loved and cover basic hygiene needs during a traumatic time in their lives.
Through the generosity of area families, we are able to bless patients enduring major medical treatment with an allexpenses-paid week vacation to Dauphin Island (AL) or a weekend vacation to The Silos in Lynchburg (TN). Since the rental fees have been waived, your support of Always Endure enables us to provide patients with a gift card for food, gas, and fun on their trip! This vacation gives medical patients and their families an opportunity to truly enjoy being together and create memories during a difficult season.
To nominate a deserving family between January 1 – March 7, visit our website.
