SGA Platform Points

L – Lead and Legacy Build

We will launch the HSSU Legacy Initiative to showcase alumni success stories and create mentorship opportunities for students. A Leadership Pipeline will be developed to engage students, promote leadership, and provide hands-on training through workshops, guest speakers, and Greek panels.

E – Empathy

We will partner with counseling services to increase mental health awareness campaigns and provide better resources for students. By fostering an open and supportive environment, we aim to prioritize student well-being and create safe spaces for mental health discussions.

G – Growth

We will advocate for campus infrastructure improvements, including updated study spaces, expanded Wi-Fi, and enhanced campus safety measures. Additionally, we will support student entrepreneurs by providing resources, networking events, and business development programs.

A – Academic and Financial Support

We will push for increased scholarship opportunities through fundraising and partnerships to ease financial burdens for students. To support academic success, we will organize tutoring services, study nights, and professor Q&A panels to ensure students have the resources they need to excel.

C – Culture and Community

We will strengthen student engagement by hosting cultural events that celebrate diversity and inclusion. By increasing funding and support for student organizations, we will help clubs and campus groups thrive and make a greater impact.

Y – Your Voice, Your SGA

We will enhance SGA transparency by holding monthly town halls, open forums, and launching an SGA website for real-time updates. Our “SGA on the Go” initiative will bring SGA members directly to students, ensuring every voice is heard and represented.

Administrative Plan

Executive Vision

Our administration is dedicated to fostering student success, engagement, and advocacy by focusing on Leadership, Empathy, Growth, Academic & Financial Support, Culture & Community, and Student Voice. Through collaborative efforts, we will build a lasting legacy that empowers students and enhances their collegiate experience.

Platform Implementation

Lead and Legacy Build

1. Launch a "HSSU Legacy Initiative" highlighting alumni success stories and mentoring opportunities.

2. Develop a Leadership Pipeline to engage students and promote campus leadership.

a. The Student Leadership Conference will be held for the entire student body to encourage more students to get involved. This is to equip students with the right tools to be successful in leadership. We understand that students may underestimate themselves or be nervous about taking up these roles due to them not having prior experience.
