midst a balmy, breezy backdrop, under a sinking sun that had lost just enough of strength, the Ramona Bowl Summer Youth Theater presented Disney’s Mulan on its expansive openair stage on Tuesday, July 2. The sprawling outdoor presentation of an unwieldy story of the Huns invading Han-Dynasty China by breaching the “Great Wall” would have seemed daunting enough under ideal conditions, but when you add in the wind, a slightly problematic outdoor speaker, and most importantly, 100

The cast was amazingly prepared, brilliantly inspired, and joyful, despite the heat and vibrant costumes. Auditions were held in early May, and rehearsals-which sometimes had to be held at West Valley High School due to the heat-lasted almost a month. The result was worth all the effort. Pac-Man and Zelda for us, X-Gen’s, or for the Millennial’s, Fortnite, are games of strategy that swaths of the population can relate too. The satisfaction of winning and advancing over the other players is motivational to try again and again until the level is beaten. Once you clear the old level, you engage in a more difficult scenario. You are reassured that you won’t fall back to the previous level though. These games train their players to keep playing by enticing them with the next level. No risk, if you lose, try again.

Wall Street doesn’t quite work that way. There are levels, and they do mean something to your portfolio. It would be difficult for anyone to say they never heard of the S&P500, the Dow Jones, or the NASDAQ. Two Injured in Crash Triggered by Combative Driver CNS | CONTRIBUTED

A motorist who rammed a pickup truck and caused it to crash in Hemet, injuring the occupants and sparking a small fire, was at large. The road rage assault happened about 2:20 p.m. Monday in the area of Esplanade and Fruitvale avenues, according to Hemet police Sgt. Dan Reinbolt.

He said the pickup's driver was passing the intersection of Menlo Avenue and State Street, going west, when a man at the wheel of a light-colored compact car cut in front of him, leading to a combative verbal exchange between the two men. The shouting match continued as the drivers turned north on State Street, Reinbolt said. As they passed Fruitvale, ``the driver of the compact car began

The assailant sped away northbound. The pickup's driver and his female passenger suffered unspecified injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment, according to Reinbolt, who said both are
