Cablevey tubular drag conveyor systems are designed to move materials in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Our cable and tube conveyors are ideal for moving materials and product blends in a dust and contamination-free environment. Our systems are ideal for conveying delicate, fragile, and specialty bulk materials through all phases of production and processes through to packaging.

Recently, in addition to our food-grade stainless steel systems, Cablevey has released a conveyor more suitable for materials that contain natural oils. Certain natural oils like those produced by peanuts and tree nuts might affect stainless steel adversely, and therefore some materials are better conveyed through our exclusive plastic tubing.

Our Clearvey™ Systems allow materials to move through our tubing with no adverse effects. These systems are designed with the same clean, efficient and gentle handling as our stainless-steel systems. Cablevey’s Clear vey™ Systems have proven to accommodate a wide range of materials beyond peanuts and tree nuts, and the clear tubing allows the user to view the material moving through the tube ensuring proper conveying. The Clearvey™ system offers both wet and dry tube conveyor cleaning options.

Every system is custom-specified through our engineering department. This ensures all systems are optimized to client needs. Design considerations typically include how much material can be moved without breakage…and how far, how high, and how fast you need to move materials. Bottom line: our engineers and library of system components can solve most material movement needs with cable, disc, and tube conveyor systems.

Inspection Video Camera & Conveyor Monitoring System

Install a conveyor monitoring system camera to ensure proper installation and maintenance of your Cablevey conveyor. Our cameras are diagnostic tools that run through tubular drag systems to ensure that conveyors are installed correctly.

Cable Conveyor Cleaning Options

Cablevey offers both wet and dry tube conveyor cleaning options. Our tube conveyors are designed for food-grade applications, eliminating places for fines to accumulate.

Dry Cleaning

This internal tube conveyors cleaning option is available on our 4”, 6” and 8” diameter systems and involves several equipment items including:

Brush Box

A line insert that mechanically brushes accumulating fines off discs.

Cablevey Conveyors are equipped with:

• Solid Discs (no screws or bolts)

• “Jacketed” Cables (nylon casings)

• Attached Discs (to cable)

• Stainless Steel Connectors

• Removable Equipment (for easy cleaning)

Wet Cleaning

This option is available on our 4”, 6” and 8” diameter systems. It’s a multi-step internal tube conveyor cleaning process that’s fast and easy:

Wiper Disc

Urethane Wiper Disc: a disc insert that wipes away accumulating fines and particles

Water Rinse

After the material has passed out of the system water can be introduced to rinse the inside of the tube, disc and cable.

Sponge Disc

Sponge Disc & Sanitizing Cleaner: a disposable sponge disc that is run through the system with an applied cleaning agent.

Foam Agent

Foam cleaning agent is introduced into the tube environment to cleanse all internal parts of the system.

“We offer a full line of cable and tube conveyor cleaning mechanisms”

Air Knife for Drying

A strategically located line insert that uses compressed air to blow accumulating fines off discs.

Brush Boxes for Cable Conveyor Maintenance

Side Access Brush Boxes

For easy cleaning and cable conveyor maintenance of your tubular drag conveyor, consider integrating Cablevey’s side access brush box.

A brush box is simply a housing that the cable and discs pass through that contain roller brushes removing particles that cling to the discs and cable. This easy-to-install unit will save you time and labor in your cable conveyor cleaning regimen.

5 Reasons to Use a Side Access Brush Box

Cablevey has improved the convenience of cleaning and cable conveyor maintenance by the introduction of the side access brush box. The side access brush box presents some of the following advantages including:

Dual Access Visibility

Easy to Clean Save Money

Longer Life

Access from both sides, rather than only the top for easier maintenance of internal parts.

With covers mounted on each side visibility of internal parts is granted, allowing you to see the brush box running in real time.

Maintenance personnel can easily disassemble and clean the brush box, especially with low ceilings and other overhead obstructions.

Easy disassembly means less maintenance time to lower cost. This also serves to decrease system downtime.

A UHMW bushing has been added to increase wearable surface by three times prolonging life of bushing, resulting in less maintenance of internal parts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need any special tools to open the side access brush box? No, special tools are required to open the side access brush box. A wrench is needed to open, same as the standard brush box

If I already have a standard brush box, would I need to purchase a whole new one for side access?

Yes, a new one would need to be purchased, as the frames differ from the standard brush box to the side access brush box. The side access brush box comes fully welded and assembled upon delivery.

Is the side access brush box food grade compliant?

Yes, the side access brush box components are designed to comply with food grade standards.

Cable Conveyor Tensioning Options

Pneumatic Tensioning Device

Pneumatic tensioning used for managing cable tension is essential to the overall function, dependability, longevity, and power of Cablevey’s tubular cable and disc drag conveyor.

If tension setting is too low, the cable can become disengaged from the sprocket causing a malfunction in the system. If cable tension becomes too high, excess friction can cause greater wear, energy usage and other problems with your system.

5 Reasons to Use a Pneumatic Tensioning Device

Cablevey Conveyors has improved methods for managing cable tension. Improvements make it easier to control tension more accurately. This is accomplished by replacing the stainless steel springs with a pneumatic cylinder that has improved the same, accurate cable tension over its entire range of travel. Other advantages of a pneumatic tensioning device include:

Automatic Settings

A low tension sensor alerts you visually if the cable tension is too loose and triggers an automatic shutdown of the system.

Adjustable Easy To use Less Maintenance

Constant Tension

Allows operator to control pressure at the machine, and adjust it for different materials, in real time. For sanitation issues, more tension can be applied to run cleaning operations.

The operator is able to set tension simply by turning a knob while looking at the pressure gauge. There is less complexity to controlling the tension. The piston can be operator-installed.

With the ability to control cable tension, more accurately and specifically, cable life will increase while maintenance decreases.

A pneumatic piston provides constant tension over the full range of travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do pneumatic tensioning devices fit all sizes of tubular conveyors? Pneumatic tensioning devices are available for our mini 4” (100mm), 4” (100mm), and 6” (150mm) conveying systems.

Are there any technical requirements necessary to pneumatic tensioning device installation?

The only requirement is availability of an air compressor.

How much compressor airflow capacity does a pneumatic tensioning device require? A minimal amount of airflow is required to serve as a holding force.

Compare conveyor systems below to determine which is the right conveyor system for your needs.

In comparison to other modes of conveyance, Cablevey stands out for our energy-efficiency. This chart below compares our most commonly used motor, 5.4 HP… compared to other common means of conveying – like chain conveyors – using 2.5x more energy, to the use of pneumatic conveyors often using 10x more power.
