The project was created in a design charrette in Rome, Italy and corresponded to the historical green spaces and archaeological elements, the Antoninianus Acqueduct, the Mausoleum of Lucius Fabius Cilo, the Aurelian Walls and the Baths of Caracalla. The masterplan program for this area includes a commuting system connecting tourist buses from outside the city to public transport, cycling paths, reception points, catering services and cultural and exhibition spaces. The produced design is intended to reorganize this vast area of the city providing a way for tourist functions to become a permanent part of the system and of the vitality of the city.

This design was inspired by a series of paper fold iterations, addresses the loss of cultural significance by reason of gentrification within the South Bronx of New York. A strategy was produced which amalgamates the urban environment with its inhabitants in the form of a tow pound facility, which dually serves as an entertainment space. A graffiti garden in a transplanted “wildscape,” and an indoor art gallery provides community engagement, while enabling local artists to be showcased and community culture to flourish. This space makes a statement by creating a paradox with placing an art installation and nature in an area otherwise consumed by industrial development.
