Persistence is the key . Architecture for me has been a journey with numerous turns, ups and downs . Constantly working on details while creating a bigger picture is what defines this journey
I believe my sense of space and understanding of architecture comes from a large spectrum of experiences I have been through . Every image, frame and place leaves a mark on the creator’s mind .
This portfolio is a collection of diverse processes across various scales that I have undergone in my academic and professional years

Project Year 1st Year
Site Gokarna (Coastal Region)
PROLOGUE
The site provides a great stage for the program, with coastal region and its rich cultural context. Indigenous coastal tribes are constantly in search of a medium to portray their culture and traditional art forms in order to earn livelihood.
DESIGN IDEA
With site and program being priority, the idea is to create an exhibition which brings a sense of curiosity and also allows the site to come inside the build mass A merger between built and unbuilt spaces where indigenous and tourists can come together
A hierarchy of space is formed with the use of appropriate elements.
The form of traditional built mass compliments the climatic needs.
CONTEXTUAL UNDERSTANDING
Appropriate use of material plays a vital role in vernacular style of construction.
The coastal region provides a unique context for the program, with natural as well as man made context the site itself provides an architectural identity which is ideological for the site and its demands.
The program aims redefine the exhibition space, which becomes more of a public space. Adding value to the public realm by incorporation social and interactive spaces. The sense of visual axis and visual connectivity is essential for this project. And hence the play of volume and light intake brings the site inside the built mass. Enhancing connectivity as well as user comfort.
User experience is governed by the quality and connectivity of the spaces.
Play of Free flowing forms with rigid and grid restricted structural massing.

Project Year 2nd Year
Site Pondicherry
PROLOGUE
Pondicherry with great historical and architectural significance, has a potential to host large number ot tourists, and hence a Backpacker’s Hostel was proposed at a great proximity.
DESIGN IDEA
Respecting the rich and beautiful context of French quarters, the design strives to bring an Indo French experience for the visitors With all the facilities and swiftness of a Zostel
THE SUBSTRACTIVE CUBE
300MM X 300MM X 300MM
The cube represents the solid massing and allowing Us to add values to the surface as well as the volume at the same time. The play of surfaces intruding inwards gives birth to the spaces which play role as a focal point in the whole volume. These intruding volumes also brings a play of elevation.
THE ADDITIVE CUBE
300MM X 300MM X 300MM
The cube when manipulated through addition of surfaces and volumes gives an aesthetic appeal while also serving functional purposes, the out –coming overhangs and cantilevers act as transition spaces as well as foci for the external façade. The additional volume allows a better play of light and shadow, while controlling the solar and wind intake into the inner parts of the spaces.
Form Derivation Via Addition / Subtraction
The spaces being weaved together gives a sense of cultural exchange, between the visitors as well as the city of Pondicherry. With courtyards and other transition spaces which enhances the experience as well as provides pockets for users to interact among themselves.

Prof. Vignya Shah
Project Year 5th Year
Site Goa
PROLOGUE
India's vast coastline, stretching over 7,500 kilometers, holds immense potential for a thriving blue economy. Coastal interventions, such as sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and maritime trade, can catalyze economic growth. Harnessing the rich marine resources can not only boost employment but also contribute significantly to India's GDP, fostering a sustainable and prosperous future.
DESIGN IDEA
The proposed cruise terminal will not only serve the tangible purposes, but also act as a landmark for the citizens, as well as an icon which will represent India on a international level. The iconic and sculptural form is derived on the fundamental ideas of Bio-Mimicry.
MORMUGAO VERNA WESTERN GHATS PONDA
The roofing structure envelopes the built-mass, inducing a sense of semi openness while creating a sculptural statement for the users within. Allowing natural light to flood in the spaces, the structure minimizes electrical consumption.
FIRST FLOOR PLAN
SECOND FLOOR PLAN
GROUND FLOOR PLAN
LONGITUDNAL SECTION – AA’
Spaces within the roof envelope have cut outs in slab and punctures to allow light to reach lower levels. These levels also increase the visual connectivity and add value to the quality of space. Spaces interact as there’s an axis of vision between them. This allows users to have a wider view field.
CIRCULATION
The circulation within the cruise terminal in Goa is orchestrated to ensure seamless movement and comfort for passengers. Upon arrival, vehicles access a dedicated drop-off area leading to an expansive entry hall equipped with security checkpoints and immigration facilities. Passengers proceed through spacious check-in counters and waiting lounges featuring amenities like cafes and retail outlets. Clearly marked signage guides them to boarding gates connected to ships via gangways, facilitating efficient embarkation. Wide corridors, designed for smooth flow, incorporate natural light and local architectural elements, fostering a welcoming environment that reflects Goan culture while prioritizing functional efficiency and passenger convenience throughout the terminal.

The design incorporates the understanding of VASTU, main idea behind the design was appropriate illumination of spaces through the natural light. Openings and double height space allows reflected light to enter the spaces.
I started my Architectural journey with zero pre requisite knowledge, like a blank canvas. Initial years were very challenging. And between this challenge of making the ends meet, I stumbled across the “RAIN FOREST HOUSE”, as a case study. The design and idea fascinated me beyond measures, coming from Mithlanchal (Northern Bihar), my native place had dense forests where bamboo is a part of living. But I had never seen something so elegant built out of Bamboo and wood. What I later learnt to be tropical modernism, pushed me to work hard and expand my boundaries in the field of Architecture. Later on I had the opportunity to meet some amazing Architects and discuss the fascinating depths and details involved in the projects.
