How did you decide to be a professional model? Who or what inspired you?

Since childhood, I have dreamed of creative job, I thought I would become an actress, but once in Russia day started TV show a program with Tyra Banks: America Next Top Model, and I got caught up. I did not miss a single episode, I started to buy VOGUE magazines and follow trends. I was inspired by two important people in my life - my mother and my grandmother - they always believe in me.

When did you sign with an agency?

I signed a contract with my mother agency in 2014, when I was 18 years old. I will remember that day forever, because it has changed all my life.

What was your first job? How did it feel?

My first World assignment was in Russia for a wedding magazine. It was an amazing day, though very tiring. The shooting was from 10 am to 2 pm in the studio, and after we went to the mountains and continued working until 11 p.m. It was very cold, +8 degrees, as I remember now, I was wearing a pale pink dress, with an open back and arms. And the best part of this World assignment was when I received photos and the magazines that were in many beauty salons in my city.

What is your dream modeling job?

My dream is to work with the world-wide brands in Paris or Milano.

What magazine would you like to be on the cover of?

I am very glad that I will be on the cover of your magazine. One more magazine will fill in my portfolio. I am very happy. Speaking of the world level, I would love to collaborate with Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar magazines.

What do you enjoy most of the modeling?

It will be better if I tell what I don’t like. There is one point. It was a joke. I like everything from the greeting the customer till the receiving my photos and videos. I like to work and see the results of it, which energise me and gives me motivation to be better.

What are your hobbies?

I have been dancing since childhood, there were different styles: first classical dance, after when I was a teenager hip hop, R&B and when I turned 18 years, I learned how to dance Jazz Funk.

Now I am completely into modeling and I dance only at home. I like to read western literature, also to spend time with my family and my friends.

What is your personal style?

I like casual style, close like: jeans, sneakers, loose sweaters, I feel comfortable in it. But you often can see feminine clothes on me, like dresses and heels, this makes me feel like Naomi Campbell.

How do you keep in shape?

I can’t say that I monitor my nutrition but I am trying to limit myself in sweet and bakery, if I see that I gain a few kilograms. In the morning I jump rope on an empty stomach for 20-40 minutes. But generally 4 times a week I do yoga, it releases nervous tension and keeps my muscles in tonus.

What is in your purse or backpack?

I have in my bag: powder, lipgloss, hand cream, wipes, phone charger, notebook, pen, phone, earphones . It depends on the size of my bag, but these are necessary things for me and I always carry them in my bag, but these are necessary things for me and I always carry them in my bag.

Who are your favorite designers?

I can highlight only one designer who won my heart. This is Gabrielle Bonheur ''Coco" Chanel. My dream is to get that same "Small black dress" from COCO Chanel."

Favorite brands?

I like many brands, and I can buy clothes both for 50-100 $ and for 1500 $.

But: Versace, Juice Couture, Isabel Marant and U.S. Polo Assn, Armani, are one of my favorites. Especially, I remember the collection from Versace spring-summer 2020. I really advise you to watch this fashion show.

Favorite snack?

My favorite snack is: grill cheese with sesame seeds and lingonberry jam. I advise you to try it with wine.

Favorite music?

I am a music lover. I prefer to listen to music accordingly to my mood. I often listen to R&N, club music.

Favorite movie?

My favorite movie is Titanic. I can watch it endlessly. I think people will agree with me. This love story teaches us a lot and proves that not money but real love makes us happy.

Favorite city to visit? To shop?

My favorite city is where I left my heart in 2018. This is Mumbai. I will give the first place to this city. The second place I will give to Rome and Milano.

If you weren't a model, what would you do? l tell you a secret. Despite, working in modelling business I also work for construction company. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Economics and got a degree. I think if I weren ;t a model, I would just work as an accountant.

Favorite social media platform? IG info?

Definitely an Instagram! This is an all purpose platform which is still growing.

Its very popular among millions of people. And the fact that IG Stories has already surpassed Snapchat is amazing. And also, I like that ads in Instagram easily fit into news feed, which allows brands to create attractive and platform-based ads. But just recently I was attracted by tik tok, I hope soon I will learn how to make interesting content for my followers.

What advice would you give someone starting out?

Do what your ghost tell you and what you really enjoy do not waste your life on those things that do not make you happy. Believe in yourself when nobody else believes. And do not give up for any difficulties. All this challenges in our life are given for a reason. never give up if you really want something, you can get it. If you really want something then Never give up, you can get it.

Ralph and Russo cancels couture presentation

London-based couture and ready-to-wear label Ralph and Russo have confirmed that they will sit out the spring 2021 couture season, following concerns about the ongoing pandemic.

In a short statement, Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, said: “As the Covid 19 situation is worsening and due to Covid restrictions we have taken the decision not to proceed with our spring/summer 2021 Couture collection and presentation.”

The news comes just days after the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode announced that Paris Men’s Fashion Week and Haute Couture Week would still go ahead, however, without audiences due to Covid-19 restrictions in the country.

The label added that it will return to showcasing its couture collection from July 2021.

Last season in July 2020, Ralph and Russo used a custom brand avatar to bring its first virtual couture collection to life, alongside real-life couture designs.

Ralph and Russo isn’t the only brand absent from the official schedule, Jean-Paul Gaultier has also postponed showcasing its highly anticipated one-off couture collection by Sacai’s Chitose Abe. The French couturier announced a new strategy last March to invite a new designer every season to interpret the codes of the House of Gaultier, after shocking the industry by announcing that his January 2020 couture show would be his last.

Japanese designer Abe marks the first of Gaultier’s guest designers.

The Row launches unique vintage designer pieces from its archive

Los Angeles-based The Row is retailing a series of vintage designer items from its archive, ranging from Japanese purists Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto to John Galliano and Chanel.

The luxe minimalist brand, named after London’s infamous Savile Row, is selling multiple one-off garments from mostly the 1990s that were either used as inspiration for its own pieces or that were acquired elsewhere.

Many designers and brands use vintage clothes to inspire the shapes, fits and fabric choices of their new collections. High street brands especially are prone to buying luxury designer pieces to copy details for their own ranges. It is not by accident that strong designer catwalk looks get filtered down to the Zara’s and H&M’s of the high street.

The vintage items retailing at The Row have a similar pared-down quality to the brand’s own womenswear, and surely inspired its attention to detailing and cuts.

In its US and UK boutiques The Row merchandises its spaces with vintage furniture and objects, ranging from original Pierre Jeanneret seating to Charlotte Perriand stools, which it also sells. Prices are available on request.

Founded in 2006, The Row says its combines a timeless fashion perspective with subtle attitudes to form an irreverent classic signature.

A rejected cover for Tintin adventure 'The Blue Lotus' sells for record $3.9 million

Arare painting of Tintin by Belgian cartoonist Hergé sold for a record €3.2 million ($3.9 million) at Parisian auction house Artcurial on Thursday.

The 1936 illustration, intended for the cover of Hergé's fifth Tintin book, "The Blue Lotus," shows the young hero hiding with his dog, Snowy, in a porcelain jar. It was painted with gouache, ink and watercolor.

It was eventually rejected as a cover because it would have been to expensive to reproduce, the auction house said in a press release ahead of the sale.

The Blue Lotus was expected to sell for between $2.7 million and $3.4 million, but ultimately went for $3.9 million including fees -- a world auction record both for a work

by Hergé and for an original comic strip work.

"Thanks to its unique characteristics, this masterpiece of the ninth art deserves this world record and confirms the excellent health of the comic strip market," said Eric Leroy, comic strip expert at Artcurial, said in a press release following the sale.

"The painting was also inspired by Hergé's friend Chong, whom he met in 1935 in Brussels," Leroy explained. "Chong described his native China, which influenced the story and the artwork of 'The Blue Lotus.'"

A controversial past HergĂŠ, whose real name was Georges Remi, created the character of Tintin in the 1920s.

The tales have been translated into dozens of languages, and adapted for radio, television, film, theater and video games.

Despite their huge popularity, Tintin's adventures have also been the subject of controversy.

During World War II, HergĂŠ published Tintin strips in a Belgian newspaper allied with the Nazi regime.

And "Tintin in the Congo," published in serial form in 1930-1931, took the boy reporter to Belgium's then colony and depicted the African natives as inferior beings in need of civilization.

Dwyane Wade And Gabrielle Union Bring Los Angeles Home Back To Market At $6 Million

It’s a new year and a new price for Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union. The retired basketball star and his actress wife are relisting their home in the Los Angeles area for $5,999,999, a $200,001 adjustment from the previous asking price.

Perched high on a ridge with sweeping mountain and city views, the Sherman Oaks property is unique for the area because of its scale and usable space, according to listing agent Anna Marie Simpliciano of Hilton & Hyland. Sitting on three-quarters of an acre, the estate includes a Mediterranean-inspired contemporary house of about 8,500 square feet, a spectacular infinity-edge swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen and a large grassy field.

“From the property’s seclusion and privacy to the breathtaking panoramic city and mountain views, this home was constructed to beautifully suit working-from-home lifestyles as well as entertaining on a grand scale,” Simpliciano said.

A long, gated driveway approaches the house, ending at a large motor court with space for about eight cars. Beyond wrought iron double doors, the 2017-built house opens to a large living room bookended by a set of French doors. An office/library ringed with arched windows sits off the entry.

Demand for flexible living space continues to drive the market in the area, particularly in the coveted “south of Ventura” pocket where Wade and Union’s home is located, according to Simpliciano. Over the last six months, the area has seen 16 public sales between $3 million and $7 million, up from six sales during the same time period last year, the luxury real estate specialist said.

Wade, a three-time NBA champion and 13-time all-star, and Union, an actress known for her television and film roles, bought the property two years ago, records show. The A-list couple is also selling their waterfront mansion in Miami Beach, Fl., which recently went under contract.

“It’s no secret your money goes further in the [San Fernando] Valley, an area with great options for new construction or move-in ready properties such as this,” Simpliciano said.

This year, Lunar New Year welcomes The Year of The Ox and Sephora Canada is getting the festivities started early with the release of its fifth annual Lunar New Year campaign. Beginning today, Sephora fans can shop an assortment of limited-edition beauty goods as well as custom Lunar New Year gift cards and promo offers. What is most noteworthy, however, is the campaign’s muchwelcomed push past the commercial by featuring meaningful moments of cross-cultural exchange that highlight different values and traditions behind the holiday. (Lunar New Year is an annual 15-day festival that’s celebrated by multiple East Asian cultures around the world. It officially kicks off on February 12th.)

The Lunar New Year campaign is the latest extension of Sephora Canada’s We Belong To Something Beautiful series, a platform that’s been championing diversity and inclusion since its inception in 2019. To bring the campaign to life, the beauty retailer has brought on Canadian influencers Brigitte Truong and Angel Zheng.

“On the first day of Lunar New Year, which is the busiest day, my parents and I always visit the Buddhist temple around the corner from their home. This is an opportunity for us to pray to deities for good luck, blessings and prosperity in the coming year,” explains Truong who’s based in Toronto and describes herself as first-generation Chinese Canadian. “We also enjoy other festivities that are held throughout the afternoon, like a celebratory lunch, a traditional dragon dance, unique holiday treats and festive music.”

For Vancouver-based Zheng, celebrating family ties rings true, too. “Since my parents and I moved to Canada from China when I was four, we’ve never really been able to celebrate Lunar New Year in its entirety, however we always like to host a family dinner and celebrate with traditional Lunar New Year food, like rice cakes, noodles, glutinous rice balls and dumplings,” she says.

The world of beauty is also very closely linked. “I look forward to this time of the year because the family gets bolder with the colour red: red lipstick, eyeshadow, jewelry, and clothing. Red represents joy, happiness and good luck — three things we all strive for,” reveals Truong. “My mom still gives me lucky money in traditional gold and red envelopes and, in recent years, I’ve been gifting her red lipstick.”

It’s this very connection that makes participating in the Sephora campaign even more special for Zheng. “Ever since Sephora started to showcase Lunar New Year, another tradition that my mom added to our celebrations was shopping for Lunar New Year-inspired beauty products. Since my sister and I receive hong baos (lucky red pockets that are filled with money) from our aunties and uncles, my mom would take us to Sephora to shop for beauty and skincare products” she says. “This is not a cultural tradition at all, but it’s something unique to my family that I enjoy every year.”

“The holiday is an important time for our immediate and extended family to come together to enjoy food, love and the exchange of red envelopes,” she adds. “More importantly, it’s a time for us to really pay homage to our loved ones who have passed on: Family gatherings allow us to honour the blessings they gave us when they were still with us.”

As period dramas go, Bridgerton has it all: thousands of highly elaborate costumes; a galaxy of diamond jewellery; and a mildly pornographic incident with a spoon at a café known as Gunter’s Tea Shop. In case you were wondering whether the actors playing the Ton’s leading society figures had gone “method” for their roles, however, the answer is a distinct no.

On 15 January, director’s assistant and Kodak enthusiast Barnaby Boulton shared a highlights reel of behind-the-scenes images from Shonda Rhimes’s Netflix hit – the latest in a series of glimpses he’s afforded us of the set of the Regency drama. Among the grainy snaps? Regé-Jean Page happily listening to a pair of earpods and Phoebe Dynevor scrolling through her Instagram feed between takes. Also of note: queen of our hearts Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) smirking at the camera, and the three Bridgerton lads, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Benedict (Luke Thompson), and Colin (Luke Newton), smouldering together in their breeches.

Even more intriguing, however, are Boulton’s newly released shots of the Duke and Duchess of Hastings’s nuptials, filmed at St Mary’s Church in Twickenham and the RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire, which stands in for the Bridgertons’ home throughout the series. In one shot, Dynevor can be seen holding a latte in her custom wedding dress – a simple design created by costume designer Ellen Mirojnick based on a single piece of vintage fabric she happened across in Madrid – while her archival bridal tiara from the Swarovski vaults is being adjusted. Then there’s the nearly 1.5-metre-tall cake – decorated with both the Bridgerton and Hastings crests – alongside a wedding feast that includes rare and highly coveted ingredients for the period, from pineapples to langoustines. As for the flowers? Production designer Will Hughes-Jones revealed that the Bridgerton team used silk blooms, hand-painting each one to get the colouring exactly right. Bring on the next series.
