As HPGM prepares to close its 23rd year of legacy and impact, I am filled with pride when I see our gente persist in their education, grow in their careers, scale their businesses, and succeed in the ways that are meaningful to them.
However, we still need your support and investment to increase economic prosperity so ALL Latinos and ALL Wisconsinites can thrive. By 2030, 1 in 5 employees will be Latino, yet we remain significantly underrepresented in positions of influence and power across all sectors. While Latinos contribute $3.2 trillion to the U.S. economy and high rates of employment, Hispanics in this region still have one of the lowest median household incomes. Additionally, Latinas are starting businesses faster than any demographic, yet the staggering Latina pay gap has only narrowed by pennies over the last three decades remaining at 52 cents on the dollar compared to white men.
Our JUNTOS RISING theme this year is an invitation to join us again as we strive for a stronger, more powerful Latino community where all of us can rise together . We cannot continue our economic and workforce development work or serve the vibrant, talented community of more than 4,000 Latino professionals, students and allies without YOU! Your investment removes barriers to education, contributes to the overall well-being of Latinos in Wisconsin, and is a commitment to advance Latinos in all sectors and industries.
Muchísimas gracias for your continued advocacy and partnership. YOU help make this work possible.
On behalf of the HPGM Board of Directors and staff, we send you our heartfelt gratitude and can’t wait to celebrate with you on
September 27!
Un fuerte abrazo,
Francesca Mayca Wegner President & Chief Possibilities Officer, HPGM
Founded in 2001, HPGM exists to advance Latinos in Wisconsin by serving as a connector, convener, and hub of services for current and aspiring leaders. We are driven to address the barriers preventing Latinos from full economic participation by serving as the premier resource for Latino educational attainment, professional achievement, and financial well-being. We build the current and next generation of Latino leadership by providing impactful professional development opportunities and fostering meaningful connections. As a thought leader, HPGM continues to convene around critical issues that directly impact the community. We strive to increase representation, build intergenerational wealth and close the influence gap across all sectors.
