Welcome to the home of the Hyde Park Panthers!

Welcome to another fall season of Hyde Park Panther success! Thank you for supporting our student-athletes as they compete and represent our school. Hyde Park’s esteemed reputation derives from the “well-rounded” characteristic of our young men and women competing on the field, excelling in the classroom, and serving in the community. Speaking of Hyde Park students, I am very proud of their hard work and dedication in their pursuit of excellence in the 20192020 school year. “…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31 In addition to pursuing excellence on the field, the way excellence is pursued is critical in demonstrating our core values. I look forward to seeing not only great victories at Hyde Park for our teams this fall, but also look forward to witnessing great leadership, sportsmanship, and integrity.

I want to thank the parents and coaches for the countless hours of sacrifice you make to allow our students to enjoy playing the games they love. Without you, none of their success would be possible. We appreciate your support!

Through participation in athletics, our goal is to develop Christian character in our student athletes. As a member of an athletic team, students will learn to be better communicators and goal-setters and will be challenged to develop a strong work ethic.

The importance of commitment to team, perseverance through adversity, as well as good sportsmanship are also developed throughout our program.

Our athletic program offers many opportunities to teach life lessons that are not always available in the academic classroom. Our hearts desire for our coaches is to model Christ-like living, love our students, coach in a positive, enthusiastic manner, and work to make a difference in each student’s life. We are committed to a high standard of excellence.

At HP, we understand the importance of developing an attitude that would lead our coaches and teams to always give the best of their talents and abilities to honor God. Win, lose or tie it is our desire to do so while reflecting grace, humility, and dignity that would reflect Christian character.

Winning or losing games is not nearly as important as the manner in which we handle these life situations. Success and failure in a sport may not always be measured by the final score, but rather by always giving maximum effort, having a positive attitude and doing the best we can with our God-given abilities. That is the true measure of success in athletics.

Hyde Park Schools Booster Club The Hyde Park Booster Club is a group of parents, staff, and other interested parties that exists to support all High School and Middle School athletic programs. Participation in athletics benefits the Hyde Park community by promoting opportunities to build and strengthen relationships among all involved— the student body, the staff, parents, and local businesses. We encourage you to come get involved! All Hyde Park families with students in grades 6th-12th are members of the Booster Club. Check out the HP Booster Club website for meeting times and ways to support the Booster Club. Because of the support of the Hyde Park Community, last year the Booster Club was able to upgrade the training room, invest in a portable sound system for the gym and fields, donate $1000 to each high school sport, and support our coaches by pledging $40,000 towards stipends. A huge thanks to our sponsors and volunteers for all your support!

Riley is a returning starter at safety. He was a 1st team All District performer in 2018. He will play wide receiver and contribute on special teams as well in 2019. He is a solid leader and a guy we will count on a great deal.
