Three locals receive rare Congressional Patriot Awards
The ballot order is Shawn Tyler (challenger), Sarah Myrick (incumbent), Jessica Bjorn (challenger), and Ricky Price (challenger). Also on the ballot is Grayson County Junior College’s bond proposition which will read: The issuance of $456,500,000 in bonds for college facilities and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.

Fryar, Beckemeyer set to be inducted into Howe Hall of Honor Friday night Two important figures in Howe’s history will be in town Friday night to be honored as the 2024 Howe Hall of Honor inductees. Jim Fryar and LeAndra Beckemeyer will travel from west Texas and Mississippi, respectively, to reminisce with old friends and accept an award and recognition. Most every year since 1986, Howe has celebrated Founders Day which started as a heritage festival. However, 38 years later, it looks less like a pioneer celebration and more like a community party.
