Volume 61, Edition 14, Monday, August 14, 2023 In preparation for the broadcast of Howe Bulldogs football this year, we were open to barter with Rapid Electric. The company owner Brent Brunner also has a new home for sale on Bennett Road listed for $849,999. We offered to trade 2,571 seasons of broadcasts for the home. He was not a taker. However, Rapid Electric will once again be the host of the Tailgate Party. ***** Brian Little is helping the Howe Athletic Booster Club with upgrading the “Dog House” which is a trailer to sell Bulldogs spirit gear. He called Saturday morning to ask what kind of flooring we wanted. Real handscraped hardwood was not in our budget. ***** It’s been around 20 years since the Howe Bulldogs issued a jersey number 42. We were beginning to think it was the ‘unwritten rule’ as with Roger Staubach’s 12. But then senior Jesse Portman showed up in the photos with it on. I think we’ll adopt the youngest Portman as our own personal favorite for 2023. But Jesse, watch out, that number has brought about a lot of knee issues. ***** Oliver Anthony’s Rich Men North of Richmond has gone viral. Listen.
