The City of Howe Public Works department has become overwhelmed over the last couple of months working countless hours of overtime trying to patch the city’s aging infrastructure after a change in water supply from well water to surface water. While the workers are frustrated, the citizens have become equally impatient with the continued discoloration of the water. The older the home in Howe, the most likelihood of continued discoloration due to home water lines having corrosion as well as city lines. On Friday, another water pipe busted at the southeast corner of Collins Freeway and Haning Street about 10:30 am. City crew members immediately began identifying the situation which meant another weekend of work.

The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off their 2023 event schedule with a networking breakfast held at Summit Gardens on Wednesday. Around 20 showed up for breakfast and a chance to visit with other business owners. The chamber purchased breakfast burritos from Quick Check in Howe
who was also named the Business of the Month in which owner Zack Wilks accepted a certificate. After the meeting, the Howe Chamber board members gathered to plan out an event schedule for 2023. A preliminary date of Friday, May 5, 2023, was set for the annual Howe Hall of
Honor while the Founders Day Festival follows the next day on Saturday, May 6, 2023. There was discussion to moving the times to 4 pm to 8 pm for the event which for several years has been 2 pm to 8 pm. On July 8, the chamber discussed hosting a BIN-

Noble Ridge development underway
A new development has been underway for a bit now. Noble Ridge is a new subdivision that rests south of Summit Hill off of Summit Hill Parkway. Tract 1 of several phases comes to 71.798 acres. This is the current focal point inside Planned Development 4 (PD-4). Eventually, Tract 2 will come into play with 71.138 acres and Tract 3 with 76.862 acres. As stated in the Dec. 19, 2022 (V. 60.32) edition of the Howe Enterprise, the entire development upon completion between Young Street to the south, Summit Hill Parkway to the north, Smith Road to the west,
