It was Sept. 2, 1994, and I was a 20-year-old kid who was just asked to be the sideline reporter for KWSM by Lynn Burkhead and Bob Sullins for the Sherman Bearcats. Sherman beat Fort Smith Southside AR that night 21-14 at Bearcat Stadium. I did my first play-by -play game the week of 9/11 and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be preparing for my 300th Texas High School Football broadcast as a 48-yearold. But not only that - it's my 100th broadcast for my hometown Howe Bulldogs. It's also my son's first playoff game. This "Thursday Night Lights" will be very special for this old football nerd. The journey has been amazing and I have met so many people over the years while being able to stay in the game. . There is something magical about Texas High School Football and I am so thankful to have been blessed to be a small part of it in North Texas for this many years. Thanks to everyone who has helped me and stood along side me. Thankfully, I've always had great talent around me in the box. What a ride! Let’s do another 300! ***** There will be a playoff bonfire Wednesday night at 6 pm at Bulldog Stadium (north part of the athletic complex). There will also be a send-off for the Howe Bulldogs on Thursday at 3 pm at HHS (athletic wing). ***** I hope everyone changed their clocks on Sunday. Now you can change your country on Tuesday. After two straight 0-10 seasons, the Howe Bulldogs were in need of a fresh start with a new message. Moving down from 3A Division I and out of the “Little Big XII” with Mineola, Mount Vernon, Winnsboro, Pottsboro, Bonham, Commerce, and Rains might have been the biggest news of the off-
season. But the hiring of Sanger’s Defensive Coordinator Lance Bryan made an immediate impact upon his arrival. Bryan, originally of Gainesville, was hired in mid-January and the boys’ varsity basketball team immediately went on a 9-game winning
