HoweEnterprise.com What a great week we had in Howe, Texas last week. It was a fun time each night and all of the events were wellattended. If anyone needs me, I’ll be asleep this week. ***** Howe was also placed on the Texas High School Football map this week as Matt Stepp of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football was in town. This was mainly due to his relationship with Tioga Head Coach Chad Rogers, but Howe fared well with the spotlight on the town. Howe and Tioga last played in 1948 and most people think it’s because Tioga stopped playing football, however, it was Howe that shut down their football program after 1948 for 10 years. When Howe returned, Tioga had stopped. Friday’s game marked the first matchup between the Bulldog teams in 74 years. ***** For those that don’t know, it gets a little heated in the press box on Friday nights at Bulldog Stadium. The PA and clock crew have the A/C control in their room with two large vents to keep them cool. Meanwhile, in the very small broadcast room there is one tiny vent and three large men. Obviously, 70 degrees in the large room is cold to the guys in there, but it’s closer to 80 degrees in our room. Thankfully, they wear jackets and keep it cranked to 70.
