Haley and Griffin take the Norman DickeyAward Every year at this time the odometer rolls over with our volume number. But this one moves to 60 meaning it’s the 60th year of the Howe Enterprise. Quite remarkable for a small town news publication. Without the Rideout family, it would have gone away about 45 years ago and hardly anyone would even remember it. We also roll over the odometer on our age as yesterday was my 48th. Papaw sold the Enterprise when he was 45. I’m behind. ***** Alarming inflation, property taxes, gas prices, government spending (laundering) to foreign countries, supply chain disruptions, stock market/bond market sinks, illegal immigration, government infringement on free speech, health, education. Alarming evidence of election fraud. Had enough yet? ***** Here’s a huge thank you to the board members of the Howe Area Chamber of Commerce for pulling off yet another Founders Day Festival. A lot goes into it and those that volunteered deserve all the credit. Brandon McKinney, Brandon Grooms, Sergio Garcia, Jared Coffey, Steve Davis, and Tom Defrange deserve a “at a boy.” ***** Bread is about to be the new baby formula. Stock up now. Freeze it. ***** Early voting is taking place this week at Grayson College. Precinct 106 chair and Texas Attorney General are the big ones on the ballot.
