Howe ISD updates Howe Chamber presents $1,608 to COVID protocols Howe Volunteer Fire Department You’ll never Eagle if you don’t go for the pin. ***** One week from tonight it is assumed the new athletic director and head football coach will be named for Howe ISD. Whoever it is, let’s give him a warm welcome and a chance to succeed. ***** Hardly ever do I play golf anymore this time of year. And when I do I rarely ever shoot in the low 70s. If it gets any colder, I just go inside. ***** Thursday’s Rasmussen poll showed President Donald Trump’s approval rating is actually higher now than it was when he left office. As of now it’s 85 percent among Republicans and 52 percent overall. In addition, 52 percent of respondents to Rassmussen's most recent poll believe "others are making decisions for Joe Biden behind the scenes," while 37 percent believe he is "really doing the job of president" and 10 percent are unsure. ***** Some of y’all need to fight for your freedom like you fought for your toilet paper. Non-boosted considered unvaccinated Based on the latest guidance issued by the CDC on Dec. 27, Howe ISD has modified its isolation requirements. The updates include for students and staff who test positive for COVID to be required to stay home or isolate for five days from the onset of symptoms or positive test and wear a mask for five additional days. This change is accompanied with previous criteria to remain off campus which are already in place including a person being fever-free for 24 hours (100 degree temperature or more), improvement of symptoms, and 10 days from the onset of symptoms or date of positive test. Howe ISD does not require quarantines for individuals who have been exposed to someone with COVID 19. However, they do recommend that the current CDC guidelines are followed: Students or staff that are fully vaccinated and are determined to be close contacts are not required to quarantine but should wear a mask for 10 days after the last day of close contact. If possible, the individual should get tested on or after day five. Students or staff that are not fully vaccinated * should stay home for five days and continue to wear a mask for an additional five days upon re-
turn to school. If possible, the individual should get tested on or after day five. An individual is considered fully vaccinated if they have received a booster or received the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months or received the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last two months. An individual is not considered fully vaccinated if they have completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine over six months ago and are not boosted or completed the primary series of J&J vaccine over two months ago and are not boosted or are unvaccinated. Howe ISD will not provide remote instruction during the 2021-22 school year. Students who test positive or have to quarantine due to exposure to COVID should follow normal procedures for making up work. If significant changes in case counts occur, modifications to the above protocols may be made by the superintendent based on guidance/ directives from the Governor, Grayson County, Texas Education Agency, CDC, and/or the Howe ISD Board of Trustees.

DEFENSE—Dogs allow a combined 50 points to Bonham and Gunter during week The Howe Bulldogs (75, 2-1) had a week that has them headed into a direction for a shot to break the 4-year playoff drought of any Howe boys high school team in any sport. They’re having success mainly because of their play on the defensive side of the court. During last week’s competition, the Bulldogs held Bonham and Gunter to a combined 50 points (22 at
