The Howe Bulldogs made their first road appearance Friday night. The sidelines at Class 4A Sanger were missing a large part of Bulldog tradition for the past 30 years as Shawn “Moondog” Fountain, the team’s number one fan who passed earlier in the week. On the field, it was a clear shootout of offensive fire power in the first half with both teams possessing multiple threats on the offensive side of the ball. Neither defense had any answers for what was being thrown at them. But

Bulldogs lose to 4A Sanger, to play Thursday at home against Weatherford Christian
This is the annual reminder that no one cares about your fantasy football team ***** Has anyone thought about unplugging America and plugging it back in? ***** The Howe Athletic Booster Club is seeking someone to inflate the Bulldog tunnel on Friday nights. The team takes the tunnel to the games, so no loading is necessary. They just need someone who is good at blowing smoke and operating hot air. City lowers tax rate from $0.57 to $0.55, increase water rates by five percent The City of Howe officially approved the tax rate for the 202122 fiscal year. It will decrease the tax rate to its lowest amount since 2009. The new rate of $0.55 on each $100 valuation of property is the first movement of the rate since 2017 where it has remained at $0.57 since that year. In the last several years, Howe has been in the middle of the pack among Grayson County cities with their tax rate figure. Over the past 20
years, no one comes close to Collinsville who has averaged the lowest tax rate of $0.30 since 2000. Sherman is next at $0.38 average, however, has seen big increases over the last three years to remain at $0.49 since 2019. On the flip side, the highest taxed citizens are those that live in Denison and White-

Remembering “Moondog” “Moondog” remembered as the Bulldogs #1 fan
By Monte Walker Lessons we can learn from Shawn “Moondog” Fountain are many. My first interactions with Moondog came my senior year on the sidelines during football games. It was his first year to help out as a water boy as a seventh grader and it didn’t take long to realize that he was different. And different in one spectacular way that you wish
