Graduation set for Saturday at HHS Traditions renewed, back to a sense of normalcy

We have a correction/ clarification from last week’s edition. The Thornhill family decided to transition what was once the Dickie Thornhill Memorial Scholarship to the Thornhill Family Memorial Scholarship after the passing of Leon Thornhill. They typically award one male and one female athlete with $500 each. There was a third scholarship awarded this year as Scott Wortham, a Howe alumnus, decided to give a scholarship in honor of Leon Thornhill. ***** Time flies—A senior named Luke Jackson used to ride his bicycle downtown to the EDC/Chamber office in the summer to get himself a Coke out of the machine on a daily basis. About $20 worth of Coke’s in 10 days, I had to politely tell him I loved seeing him, but to make it a weekly occurrence. Not long ago, he drove up here and smiled and grabbed a Coke— just for old times’ sake. I’ll miss the Class of 2021.
