Headed to state...again Austin bound Lady Bulldogs head to state for 8th time in 11 years

If a news station or publication goes on social media and poses the question, “What do you think about (insert controversial topic)” —they’re not a news station or publication. They are a click-bait, pot-stirring, propaganda machine whose motus operandi is to get your all riled up. Don’t feed into it and certainly don’t comment on the post. Don’t even read the comments. Just scroll past it. Find cats and dogs and prom photos to “like.” Big media is a big problem with our society. *** Not once have I ever told Jake Fabacher to get up out of bed and go do your running. Never have I said, “you really need to focus on ( ).” I’m not sure in my life that I’ve been around such a self-motivated individual. He will do well in life and I’m very proud of the man he’s becoming. To watch him hurt this weekend was painful. So many of those this year for him. But his stride helps him. The Howe Lady Bulldogs golf team cruised their way to a regional championship last Monday and Tuesday by shooting a 402 on day one and a 406 on day two. Senior Kriston Harris led Howe on day one with a score of 95. Senior Katie Grogan led the Howe girls on Tuesday by shooting a 94. Grogan’s 190 combined score led Howe with Harris five strokes behind her.

Howe’s 4x400 relay team finished second and will run at the Class 3A Texas State Track Meet on May 6, 2021. Howe ISD removes mask mandate On the 246th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Howe ISD Board of Trustees voted to remove the mask-mandate from students and staff and visitors to each campus. The district still uses the term “recommended, but not required.” The school has seen a downward trend in positive cases for students and staff. In March and through last Monday, the ISD had two positive cases throughout the dis-
